    Thank you fing thank you C5 for saying a RPO system doesn’t need a Mike Vick running style qb. Ppl should watch today’s nfl QBs. Au fans. Same ones who ran Bo off get confused between an option offense & rpo. A option offense where wr are decoys with maybe 1 wr actually a passing option & rpo RUN,pass,0ption is the qb needs to be able to read the end and defense to hand the ball off, pull and run, or extend plays to make a throw. Rpo you only want a qb running when needed. Rpo qb is expected to buy time for a play to set up like a Arron Rodger’s & ole patty maholmes boy. Bo nix was the perfect RPO QB. Someone who can make every throw extend plays making off platform throws. Rpo even on run plays the wrong wr has the option to block or become the read depending on defense. Thorne now that we’ve seen the wheels is a great option for rpo. Now I’m not so sure he has the arm talent to be a shortstop at the qb position making off platform throws but he will need like Bo nix a solid oline & weapons on the outside. Trust had to be there. Year 2 rpo qb take huge steps. Luckily throne got reps last yr with some rpo. If Thorne can find confidence in the oline where he feels comfortable enough to move the pocket & has the confidence in the wr that they will not only be in the right spots but also go after the football Thorne will have a 3k plus season. Guys go look up break downs of the rpo scheme & that will help you understand why auburn finds success or fails. It starts up front. The qb had to trust the oline or wr talent will not matter. Once the oline trust is there the wr play just has to be avg. elite numbers comes when you’ve a great TE that a qb can always go to when play breaks down. Elite rpo schemes become reality when rb play is atleast mid pack, and you’ve a go to wr w/a supporting cast of wr along with that trusted oline,rb,&te. Talent level isn’t elite @ 3 levels but talent is at Auburn if the young guys can grow up early. Fans need to be patient till the ok game. First few weeks will be developing rolls & identifying weak points & strong points. The schedule sets up for Auburn to build 1 week at a time & if fans can leave the negativity away by the end of the ok game a new era of Auburn football will have arrived & recruiting will catch fire…. Juju still may end up in the class if you listen to tc Lewis interview that dropped yesterday. If everything I just said makes zero sense or looks like something a 10yr old typed out I apologize and will edit when I’m off the road and not driving.

      RPO. Run Pass Option. See Auburn 2013 season. That’s the pinnacle of an RPO system. When it’s ran flawlessly it can’t be stopped.

    High wanted him when he thought it would help land Ryan Williams and then dropped the recruitment when Williams picked Bama and now they are circling back. Texas took him early and didn't try to recruit over him. He is sticking with Texas.

    A dynamic running QB isn’t necessary in an RPO, but it’s definitely a bonus. Especially it helps your Oline, because the opposing DC gets too nervous about sending the house against them and risk giving up a huge run.
    As for Lacey, I’ll take anyone Sark wants at QB.

    Thank you for the RPO discussion. Im already hearing ppl say Deuce is a better RPO QB than JuJu and KJ because he's bigger and faster. There's an argument that Deuce is better but that's not the argument...lol

    • @EMoss1
      @EMoss1 25 днів тому

      @harrisonronald5332 that doesn't make him a better RPO QB. If you told me his size and athletic ability projects him to have a higher ceiling, I would listen to that argument. Just because he's bigger and faster doesn't make him read the field, make the right decision and distribute the ball accurately. KJ and JuJu are both better at that in this point of their careers

    • @AuburnDaily_
      @AuburnDaily_  25 днів тому +1

      Exactly. Size or running ability doesn't really make you a better RPO QB - C5

    • @EMoss1
      @EMoss1 25 днів тому +1

      @harrisonronald5332 if you go watch the Saraland vs Lipscomb game it's pretty easy to tell who was the better RPO QB and it also shows flashes of how great Deuce could be. He definitely has the highest ceiling of the 3.

  • @RobertHall-mq7ze
    @RobertHall-mq7ze 25 днів тому

    RPO/Read Option whatever. Russell Wilson is the only Super Bowl winning QB under 6 feet tall. Not sure about college champs from the BCS era forward...maybe Chris Leak? At least sign a guy that gives you a chance physically. And I'm not disappointed in missing on Juicy Fruit.

      Bryce Young is 5'10. But he was also the #1 overall recruit out of HS. I am not sure if KJ is quite as good. If you're under 6'0, you better be an amazing passer and/or runner.

    Deuce knight could be Nick Marshall 2.0. If you’re gonna get a portal QB anyways why not take a chance and go all in on Deuce. 4.5 40 yard dash with a cannon. He won the elite 11 over many other 5 star qbs. He’s got Michael penix jr written all over him if he puts it together 6’4 lefty
