Thanks for watching, listening and the comment! It was interesting to me to hear the difference. At first, in person I thought I liked the bare room better, but playing them on the video, there's a huge difference. I noticed the bass gets loaded much faster in the smaller drywalled room, and while the mids and highs sound nice, they don't seem as well defined. There might be too much sound absorption going on in the basement studio now, (the brick wall), but it's amazing how much louder I can play them down there. I think the room and what's in it, can make a huge difference in the way speakers sound. Probably more than I anticipated.
How many pairs of speakers do you have???? I also have a few pairs of Energy speakers (2 pairs RC-10, 1 pair RC-70, 2 sets of Energy Takes. Love Energy speakers.
Thanks for watching and I certainly appreciate another energy connoisseur, (pun intended)! How many speakers… Wow, a lot. In terms of energy speakers, I have right now: like you I have RC speakers including… RC 70 one pair RC LCR one pair RC 10 one pair RC MINI one pair RC MINI CENTER x one RC MICRO two pairs RC MICRO CENTER x one RC TAKE 2.2 satellites one pair XL C1 CENTER x one RVS CENTER x one (gave my full REFERENCE VIDEO SERIES to my brother in law) 4.1e one pair 3.1e one pair ESW C8 SUB x 2 (and a 3rd at my brother in laws) E SUB 2 x one pair (they are passive stereo band pass subs… very cool) S12.3 x one (and just the one is complete overkill… that single sub would be plenty for a room 1000+ sq ft) Yeah, so close to 3 dozen energy speakers alone! Then the rest are a bunch of cool retro brands and models; Several pairs of Realistic speakers, four pairs of Jensens, a pair of Infiniti’s and a very funky but cool pair of Harmon Kardon’s which is another few dozen speakers! Then there’s all the raw drivers… Probably another few dozens of woofers, tweeters, pro drivers, compression drivers, horns, a bunch of misc drivers, a bunch of exciters… lots of stuff. Thanks you reminded me I need to get myself back at the speaker projects and videos.
I think the brick wall room sounds better overall, but I specifically like the bass more in the drywall room.
