Yes your mechanical knowledge is just emerging , but you are iguaring and good learner J believe that today you are enjoying biking to utmost The Best REGARDS Ziggy in saddle since 70 Pleasure to watch Good LUCK , Canada
the way i look at it, you learned something that you didn't know before, which is always a good thing!...i have friend who has a 2007 yamaha vino, her's doesn't run right now & she hasn't bothered w/it for a while because of children-you know how it is, so am hoping to help her get it started, so this was really helpful!! So thank you so much!
It is good to get a tube of anti-seize and put some on the spark plug threads b 4 installing. It prevents rusting and makes it a lot easier to later remove your spark plug.Good job on your video.
Nice job. I went through the same thing changing the spark plug, CDI box, battery, etc. The CDI box is the main one if there is no spark? You can test for spark first to know if you need a new one. Normally last up to 30,000km. At least with the Yamaha Vino you don't have to remove the seat compartment compared to Kymco Agility 125? I am no mechanic but after watching a few youtube vids for some time now, I managed to learn how to do the following changes: - Engine and Gearbox/transmission oil - Ignition coil - CDI box, battery and fuse. - air filter - light bulb I think the next one on the list would be changing the drive belt once you feel the scooter starts to slip and go. Take it from experience when my old scooter drive belt snapped off lol? It happened twice and both times I had to hire a ute to pick it up costing me more money. Now I know when to change it and will do it myself ;) Maybe I don't need to take it for a service anymore lol?
Great video quality! Just purchased my first scooter, a blue 07 XC50 likes yours. Very helpful for someone with little general mechanical knowledge and few friends to consult, although I did feel it was a little rambley at points for someone just looking for starter advice. Mine only had
Great video you go girl The comments about antiseze on plug thread is very important prevents what just happened to your plug, it also helps conduct heat into the cylinder head better
Usually the top of the plug gets broken. I will soon find out if this problem exists when I change the plug on a 2004 Vino. If the cylinder head is aluminum and the plug is steel it can sieze tight and damage happens upon removal. Worst case it can damage the head threads. Use the anti sieze compound as someone suggested below. P.S. Use a smaller size socket, like 3/8. 1/2 inch is overkill for a spark plug.
Congratulations on your first real mechanical problem. The extraction of the plug was the real learning experience. Including the freaking out. All good mechanics do that. Next year at this time you're going to realize that this year you knew nothing, then after getting the basics down, you are going to realize you still know nothing. Then when you get into the engine problems, you realize, I know a whole lot of nothing but more than those no nothings. Really though, it gets easier. BTW, Phillips head screwdriver not star, $3.00 a spark plug, get a magnetic bowl to put parts in. Congrats to you on making the effort to actually learn how it works, versus just riding.
No kidding! I'm basically limited by not having the correct tools to really mess with her but also the fear of screwing her up because she's my main mode of transportation! I've been around scooter folks that mod the crap out of anything they can get their hands on so I know the lingo pretty well too! I'd love to get the Rev Limiter washer off the drive train because nothing feels weirder than going down a hill and not accelerating!
Thanks! I wanted to create a fun video of a woman doing a repair job since all I found was guys. And if ppl can learn from my epic spark plug disaster then all the better!
Just picked up an 08 vino, no battery, I bought one and now not sure what wires go where. I have a POS and a NEG cable but also 2 more cables, one black and one with a little red wire on the end. Where do these go?? Can find nothing in manuals or in videos that show the wiring I have. Thanks
Have u ever done the carb cleaning and if so is it easy enough for a non mechanical person like myself to do I can do oil change and stuff so is it that easy any answers soon would greatly help
Helpful Video - do you have an opinion on why a Vino 50 CC would have excessive exhaust when accelerating ? I was told it might need a carbureator adjustment. Any reply would be helpful. Thank you.
Unfortunately I'm not a mechanic so that question is a Lil out of my range. I would suggest getting your carb checked and cleaned at least once a year if you are using your scoot a lot. A clogged carb is all sorts of bad news and will severely hamper the scoots performance. 50cc are also the weakest and slowest of the gas scooter family so any issues will slow them down.
Good job on the video. Do you know if the headlight is adjustable? Mine seems to point too high. I have been looking through the manual, but can't seem to find any info. on headlight adjustment.
Scooters RULE and I own two big Harley type bikes, but my scooter get 90% of my attewntion because .... THEY ARE FUN !!!!! and perfect grocery getters.
Do you drive the Vino for daily travels, or, do you have a different vehicle for that? I'm doing some research as I am seriously considering in buying a Vino 2007.
Charlie An she is my main form of transportation! Great way to get around town! Granted I live in a city which makes scootering a lot easier but it's a ton cheaper than a car and as long as you have some good rain gear for the wet days you can't go wrong 😊
From my local motorcycle shop. They'll order parts for you if you are inclined to install them yourself. But there are plenty of online scooter shops like scooter tuning.ca that are good to order parts from.
They're pretty fun eh? And fairly easy to keep maintained without sending them off to the shop! I think I filmed me doing an oil change too, also super easy and I followed the instructions in the manual!

I'm loving you right now... it's so hard to find anyone to work on a scooter or even show me.. you did an amazing jobbb

Just bought a used Vino 125 today, this saves me time, trying to figure out where is everything, thank you for the upload..

Always good to watch someone else's trial and error so I get the gist when I mess up. Great video! Just got a 2006 vino! Love it!
Great video you go girl

Hi I'm new fan on yamaha vino, thanks for the imformation....I appreciate
I just got a 2006 Vino and this video helped to do my first maintenance to the scooter. Great help. Thank you for your video.
You did good for a first timer. No worries you will learn in due time.

Philips, Robbie are the square ones, Philips are te + ones and then there one like this* but with a extra line, mainly for extra sturdenes
Great video it helped me a lot! Thank you Antaya

Thanks, helpful comments! Magnetic bowl, that sounds handy.

What does a ratchet do? Does it ratchet? Just curious. What gets sucked out?

Thank you. I am not a mechanic either and I agree its best to just get it done right rather than guessing and hoping. - Junior

Thank you for replying. I have so much to learn because I have never operated any 2 wheeled vehicles. The Vino Lifestyle seems liberating.
As long as you don’t need to go on the highway, they are fantastic! I live in Montreal and use mine all summer to go everywhere.
@@LIBERTYMarkAaron I bought it and a year later someone stolen it from a Wal Mart parking lot. It was totally fun while I had it
How did you order the air filter ?
From who?

Nice Video
I dumped it with brakes on and full throttle.
It stalled, now it won't start
Antaya have you ever watched wonderhussy vids?
👍
Nice!
Be nice if you could aim your camera at what you are trying to show.
Goood.بسیار عالی.....
I have the same one
They're pretty fun eh? And fairly easy to keep maintained without sending them off to the shop!
I think I filmed me doing an oil change too, also super easy and I followed the instructions in the manual!
+Antaya Dixon but I fell off of my bike and messed up my arm and legs

Hello, pretty girl! I need maintenance. Can you help? I think my plug may need to be yanked too.
