Another great how-to bench vid Dennis. Drywall tape and shoe go body reinforcement method is definitely well adopted in the RC community. Hands down one of the best solution for extending the life of the body shell. Very well done in great details brother. I appreciate the time and work that goes into this man. Flex Paste is the way to go. Your body becomes rubber and as we know rubber absorbs impact. Less mess and really easy.
But can you pull it away from the body at all or does it become one?

tip* : Using heat gun on the tape also helps it stick better and fits into grooves easier .
How many layers do you recommend? 3/4? You said use 2/3 tubes shoegoo is that good for 3/4 layers?
3-4 layers is Overkill IMHO, one medium thick layer, 2nd layer in needed areas, maybe one layer on top all that if it's 8s body, 1/8th Scale is fine one good later and 2nd in some spots

I don't think Home Depot has any true Shoe Goo if I'm not mistaken?? I don't have experience with anything other than shoe goo. Most say it's the best true sticky rubber glue, and has worked fantastic for me.
I buy mine at Wal-Mart, that's the cheapest I could find... In the shoe section.
Should work great for airplane bodies as well.... Let me know how it goes.

@@3SonsRC ooops, my mistake. I meant to ask which version of Fibatape you recommend. ( Our local HD lists 6 varieties of Fibatape self adhesive/ fiberglass drywall tape). Could you link please.

1 tube shoe goo enough for 1 body xmaxx?
Thanks for stopping by bud, yes you can stretch one tube for an Xmaxx body so long as you try to keep it thin. Personally I would do one thin layer with one tube then do a second layer and tube in all the needed areas like the front grill, in the dome, and mostly/thick in the rear bed and tale gate. If you want to go almost Unbreakable Body strong wait a few hours between layers and do two thin layers and one thick layer where it's needed (three tubes)... I did a bit more than 2 but even 1 will help for sure and really help it last. I'm just really rough on my rigs.
