this game seems pretty boring. most of the time u just dash tru map even if not speedrunning. don't understand the point of these islands. game looks amazing tho
In a casual run you wouldn't skip over all the regular enemies and secrets like I did in the speedrun, since they provide lots of upgraded gear, permanent stat upgrades and shells (gold). I think the game does a good job at making full-clearing the levels feel satisfying. It's just not viable for speedruns. But you are not the only one to think that in order to get competitive times, you have to do a bit too much skipping and too little fighting. I personally like it since you have to think about which enemies to kill and which to ignore based on many different factors. (especially in the early stages. For example, there's a store at the end of every stage with gear of higher level than any other gear seen at that point, so depending on how close you are to hit the required gold threshold for that next shop and how urgently you need better weapons it might be worth to fight extra enemies. This run specifically, I already got a weapon that I wanted early and was getting comparatively few gold in the first stage from the pots laying around, meaning I would have to fight a lot of enemies to counteract that, so I decided to skip a bit more than usual) Another point I like about it is that it makes the bosses a lot harder, due to missing all that aforementioned stuff from the skipped enemies. Plus, this is a fresh file, so I'm also missing out on the Health Flask, improved alter-attacks, the Crystallize-execute, Backstab-bonus damage, starting gold and starting gear, bonus gift-slots and much more. I got around 7 successful runs with good times in about 70 hours of grinding this category. Very challenging and for me personally very much not boring. (But I can see the 'too much skipping' argument, but want to emphasize again that this does not reflect on casual runs)
Crazy clutch at the end, nice job
respect
And then it was all a dream from rebirth. Those memories are really bad for your health, it seems
GG! Nice run! The boost changes make HP very easy to get now, and the new bleed trinket is amazing for lower difficulties. Lots of ideas to try.
True, but these new split boosts are less efficient. In runs where I have Boost Stock I tend to avoid them.
@cay746 Oh yeah, I just meant how every boost is a large boost now.
