  • Practicing a rhythm on various styles of jaw harp. When I like to practice I try to play the same thing on a wide variety of different mouth harps. In this way you can feel the soul and the individuality of each instrument. Harps played in video are Szilagyi Blackfire Nova, Szilagyi Blackfire Doromb in A1, 2 different Ghorka Tailess bass Morchang, a Mohan traditional Morchang Midrange Morchang, and a Szilagyi Doromb Balance in D2. All of these are found or are coming to theharpery.com. #jawharp #jewsharp #mouthharp #maultrommel #doromb #drymba #guimbarde #vargan #morchang

This is seriously my new favorite channel! I'm downloading your jam sessions so I can listen to them in my work truck.

I have visions of universes forming, developing, expanding, collapsing and starting all over. Fractals, big and small, all. Mandalas rotating in perfect multi color synch vibrating to the sound. The beginnings of basic lifeforms and its evolution. From premitive organisms to the most complex. Propagating throughout the cosmos. Neverending ongoing life force of unstoppable atoms..
    The sound of awakening.

Yes. It is possible. This is good to hear. Perhaps you would benefit from some books. Message me on Instagram. Or email theharpery.com. I have some advice.

Which harp are you playing at 8:45 in this video? It has a real nice melodic tone.

Which harp are you playing at 2:28? Is it loud enough to be played with other instruments?

    Perfect!
I've been having a little trouble finding the voice of my Blackfire...something about the sustain that just doesn't click for me the way my other harps do. There was one day when I was locked in... And then I straight up lost it!
I'll be trying these ideas out; thank you!

@clintonjeffrey6699 What note of Blackfire? Also sometimes it is good to let go of our expectations. They can give us tunnel vision and blind us to possibilities.

Absolutely true about expectations; I don't mind that this one is a little trickier than my other harps, that just means it has legs. Just an oddity, as I feel like the other told me who they were right away. I compared it to Bleach, where Ichigo has to learn who his zanpakto really is before they can fight at top form together. Thank you again!

dose a stiffer read stop it from hitting the frame as much? also what makes siffer reads harder to play? did the second harp you play have a stiffer read cause i didnt notice it hitting as much. iv just noticed that i clip on the edge of my from a lot more now that iv broken it in

Stiffness not really relevant for clicks. Many other factors. First harp stiffer. Second harp more flexible. It also isn’t that stiffer reed harps are easier or harder to play. The stiffer reed can lead to you being less comfortable. Especially as a beginner.
