    Thanks for these instructions. I don't have a phone, so no app. These instructions were perfect. By the way, this is my 3rd "plastic watering timer, in 4 years. They're crap. (Made in..where? You guessed it. What isn't?) My 1st one I hung like yours. mounted on that angle, it overloads the top connection. Cracked and leaked. unrepairable. The 2nd one came with a metal bottom brace, but the plastic internals came apart. This new one doesn't have a brace. I'm gunna mount it "straight" down, and put a support shelf under it. Of course you must bring it in every winter, after the gardening season. Thanks again.

      You could make a 1 to 2 feet long piece of hose to connect to faucet then Orbit. That would take the strain off the the unit.

    Is Smart Watering and creating and setting up a program seperate functions; either setup smart watering and disable any programs or visa versa?

    • @DrBDIY
      @DrBDIY Рік тому

      The mechanical buttons allow you to set times and durations. The app allows you to make settings that can change by pushing buttons on the screen. The faucet time is not smart as in sensing when rain is coming, sensing that it just rained so skip watering for three days, etc. You are the smart one pushing the app buttons. You are just able to control the timer via an app. For "smart", as in using predictive or surrounding weather stations, you will need a more significant irrigation controller.

      Always have it on auto to use app to program exactly how you want it to used. I have app and hub system with 4 port outlet with 2 devices which is total 8 ports working in sequence. I can have multiple zones work together only cause my water pressure suck. I can’t pressure valve to increase or decrease pressure in this new house.
      It works great after I figure out proper programming. Make sure each zone in app only has only one time running simultaneously. The system will go into a loop. I can control watering with manual by phone as well. I love it now that I figured out how to use program properly

    I bought the single zone, how do you get it to stop watering continually every 3 hours, non stop? I just need 4 watering times for 5 minutes each time.

    • @DrBDIY
      @DrBDIY Рік тому

      You can set a start time (am or pm), a duration (1 to 240 minutes), and then how often you want to repeat (1, 3, 6, 12 hours 1 to 32 days). Pick the daily start time you want, pick a duration of 5 minutes. Now the repeat interval can be something like 6 hours. It will water every day, four times with 6 hours between, and 5 minutes each time. I don't think you can program the device to program for 5 minutes 4 hours in a row. It will repeat past the 4th hour.

      @@DrBDIY This is what I need, 10am for 5 minutes. 1pm for 5 minutes. 4pm for 5 minutes. 7pm for 5 minutes. I run 1 hose to the B-hyve , then from there to a 4 outlet brass manifold. Then from there, 4 hoses branch out , 2 connected to soaker hoses that I keep in my kennels. To keep the concrete cool. And the other 2 hoses go connected to 2 large Evaporative fans. Two zones. Each can be programmed for start time and duration. They can't run together. You can set the "how often" setting in terms of days. So each zone can only operate one time per day. But they can run every day if necessary.

      You know what! ..I came to find that on the last programming function which would be " how often" , if you turn the program knob right it will allow you to program it for "hours" and if you turn the program knob left it will allow you to program for "minutes" So if I can program it in hours ,being that 12 hours is the maximum, I can actually program it for twice a day now, once at 7:00 in the morning and one more time at 7:00 in the evening. So yes.. It is possible to program this XD sprinkler box for two times per day per station@@DrBDIY
