Dega trumpets be screaming😂 I fw with it!!!
No one can deny the fact that Dega got better! Whether you think they won this battle or not, the arranger(s) chose this season to challenge them with the pen - and they have to elevate their musicianship to match the pen (the major complaint with Dega). Anyway, good battle.
That is the best sounding Talladega I have heard. Kudos to them. This may have been KSU's best battle all year. Kudos.

I definitely had dega a few grades would have been different like that fanfare in wrong won it’s a 4 and that song selection with that run was choppy but it was a great battle thx for the review I been waiting on this since been😂😂
I'm very happy Dega sounds so good lately.
I remember HATING them when they started out... sounded like 2007/2008 SU but bad....
They've come around and started to have their OWN sound rather than sounding like a Great Value SWAC band. And it's a GOOD sound too.
I just love music I have no knowledge about the instruments at all😂❤

@@josiaslucas5000 some songs - especially the staple songs - should always be a part of your repertoire. From what I heard, “Swoop” is one of those songs for JSU. So even if they didn’t know Dega was going to play the song they should’ve been ready to respond with their arrangement.

Dega don't have baritone, they have euphonium which are much louder than baritone. If jsu had euphonium like dega, jsu won eat degae euphonium for lunch.

So wait…. I know this is a review channel but as a hbcu band fanatic and musician alone I’m so confused how you gave Jackson State a 5 when literally you can hear the band struggling to keep up with power and lack of emphasis on the high brass, especially from @ 39:36, 40:15,40:28, and 41:22 🤔.
Yet when you tell Talladega’s Between The Sheets is a 4? Yes I can see why you want to see more woodwinds but the fact the little they had are pushing just as if they had more. And literally no issues with any of the high brass parts. They are all presenting their parts more efficiently than JSU.
I would’ve at least say maybe JSU got a well 3. But a 5?!
Then their Pretty Brown eyes you give a 5 but it sounded like least a 4
Degas version of the show a 3 when it sounded like a 4.

He answered in the video why he chose the boom vs talladega that’s one thing. But your telling me those key points I put out doesn’t change the fact that he is giving the band a score higher than what he would judge in a song. That’s my issue.
I want to know how does he have those key points giving the boom a edge on songs versus tc songs lol. I’ve been watching band videos and even being in a hbcu band to spot out things that as any musician if curious about would want to know between another listener. It’s not even that deep tho lol it’s just a review video 🤷🏽♂️😂😂😂
@@King-ud9dl He was in band as well, those points you mentioned are really just nit picky, the trumpets are clear as day, it doesn't make it wrong because they didn't do what you think they should've done. They did their job 💁🏾 and why you only focused on that song? I can tell you like it 🤣🤣 and the real score is 59-52 he missed 5 on that song lol
