Really enjoying My Senior Moments....I can relate to much of it. I, too, don't need to speed to enjoy the ride. Sometimes, when there's no way to walk the bike backwards or limited space for a U-turn, you can lean the bike on the kickstand and spin it around on the kickstand. Lean the bike just enough to barely lift the wheels off the ground and then begin to walk, side-stepping, in a circle!
Hello, I am enjoying your videos, I am 61 and like you enjoyed motorcycle ,I have perches a kawasaki versys X300.i was limited because of my condition of being tight with money💰🥴,I myself was looking at the yam T7 ,but the versys X300 turn out to be what I was looking for and as been a great fit for me. I live in Manchester England, so we don't have the fire roads and space you have in the U. S .A .and also a lot of dislike for off road motorcycle .but we have a passtime called green laneing .I hope to start doing this soon.thanks again ,keep your wheels on the dirt and your face in the breeze
Beautiful part of the country you live in, love the western U.S. I have a new 850GS and like you am getting used to the bike. I've had a motorcycle for over 40 years but those were street bikes and whilst I find the more upright seating position is comfortable, it certainly moves the center of gravity up and makes the bike top heavy. Its fine under way, but pushing around the garage is not pleasant. Enjoy your riding videos, perhaps you can talk about the riding gear selected and any mods to the bike. Enjoying the vids, but I’ve done a few double-takes at your un-gloved hands 😱. I just got my first adventure bike, too. Nervous/excited to hit some dirt, but there doesn’t seem to be the same sort of fire roads here in KY as my old home in CO. Seems it’s either pavement or mud, from the videos I’ve watched :-).
Great video, just a couple of thoughts. Apparently you can turn these big adventure bikes round by rotating them on their side stand. I’ve never done it myself but I should practise it before I need to do it in earnest. Also you might want to consider buying an extender to increase the footprint of your side stand. This is next on my list of MODs to do. Sorry to hear about the vandalism to your bike.
good video ! . I suggest you try to get on a motorbike course on bike maintenance , tyre changing and how to service your bike etc etc before you go on a trip . it will get you out of trouble when you are in the middle of nowhere . Respect to you for getting out there and doing it ! RIDE SAFE . PS i have just subscribed .enjoy the T7
I wear the Forma Adventure high boot. It fits me well. Comfortable and mostly flexible. I am better at shifting gears after having 600+ miles on the T7 now.
@@MySeniorMoments I have the Forma low (which seems more like a “mid” to me). Really great comfy boot, but I agree about the chunky toe. I had to adjust my bike’s lever up, and now I can get under it no problem.
Did You try to adjust Your gear shift lever, from what You are telling it seams it is set to low. BTW awesome videos ;) You just earned a new subscriber :)
I did adjust the lever, but what really helped was to practice shifting with the side of my boot. I’m a first timer to riding boots and the extra stiffness is taking me time to get the feel of how to shift gears without having the boot under the shifter.

Hey thanks for the ride. Caution is good. And speed will definitely get you into trouble. New sub here!
Very nice
Whatever works for you but an you adjust gear shifter up or down to help you a little.. a lot of shifters are splined.
Very entertaining!

Sometime just try to pivot the bike on the side stand, it will turn around pretty easily.
Out of curiosity, what boots are you wearing?

You could have gone around to the right!
You should have purchased something a bit more manageable like a Honda Monkey or a Trail 125.
No gloves? Yikes!
