Good Video, but the G7 is unfortunately not Built in that way. For the G7 you need to Remove every Part and remove it from behind the Mainboard. As imagination help, it is the first Part at the assembly that is put in.
@@OWOspirit doubtfull ... honestly and it may take a lot of time you are better off with the whole keyboard. It comes down to what is actually wrong with they keyboard
Not going to buy any HP laptop again after the G7 design, should not be this hard to just replace the keyboard. Need to tear everything down and glue the keyboard in place. Wish they kept the G6 design.
Any idea how to dismantle the key from the keyboard? I accidentally split a cup of coffee on my keyboard, i would like to dismantle it and do some cleaning. But no luck to find a video on how to dismantle the key.
Definitely, no. I have replaced several keyboards on the g6. But it was totally different for the g8, and not something I would want to do in the future. However the keys are easy to pop off individually for the g8, so if you have an issue with just one letter/key, it is super easy to pop off the broken letter, and replace it.
Thank you for showing. I used this video to replace a keyboard on a HP 850 with numeric keyboard. Same, but wider keyboard.

Great video. Did this at work today! Great help for others
Thank you, very helpful!👍
HP 830 G7 keyboard is designed different. This video is for the older models which is very easy compare to the G7.
Thanks. Very, very helpful! :)
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video. I have a 840 G6 and I was able to replace the keyboard in 5 to 10 minutes.
What screwdriver size or type did you use please?
This does NOT work for the G7 version of this laptop
Thank you, you help me a lot today
Glad to hear that!
To replace the KB on a 840 G7 you replace the whole top cover, which requires removing all components from it. Good fun.
Hello. I have a question, what model of screwdriver do you have?
is the 830 G6 have the same keyboard for 840 g5?
Bonjour, Pourriez vous nous envoyer une vidéo pour le remplacement du Top cover de Elite book 850G7? merci d'avance
You need to wear ESD wrist strap to protect electronic from damaged
Hello, would you know if its possible to change from an ISO to an ANSI keyboard

Is G8 the same?

This is NOT a 830 G7 !
New keyboard price please
The 850 G7 keyboard is part of the frame, so you cannot replace it this way.
Did you changed a top cover keyboard?
Thank´s ;)
This does not apply to the G7 , the keyboard if not surface removable.
Unfortunately, this will not be the guidance for the Elitebook g8, nor the g7.
what about g7
I will check if it fit

Nope not this model. I've done this one before. The only sensible build they ever used sadly
