I have many high end gshocks including a few MRG models but the GSTB400 is the most comfortable daily wearer ive ever owned. The carbon main case makes it very light even though it was a steel bezel. Strap is very comfortable the slim profile makes it very versatile!
I've sworn by f91w's for years and worn nothing else, the ga-2100 blackout casioak was the first watch that I felt I just had to have over a year ago, and was the first watch I bought that cost me more than £10. Now I've seen this I've just got to have it, that resin band 1a version is an absolute home run for me and what I'm looking for in a watch, good looking, self powering and durable without being obnoxiously large. will be my Xmas present to myself this year. thanks for the review, you've sold me on it completely
I would say this looks as stunning as a MTG gosh! I have a MTG-B1000 and I'm impressed by how G-Steels look. I also agree that it looks better on a resin band rather than a metallic bracelet. The only thing I would have wanted on it is a seconds hand although I'm aware there is a digital seconds display. If there is a metal G-Shock I wouldn't mind using at the beach this would definitely be the one! I would have gotten this if i had not gotten a Mudmaster recently. Thanks for the review, especially the size comparisons and your thoughts on how it would fit smaller wrists as I have a small 6.5cm wrist and my Mudmaster is already pushing it to its limits lol!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed watching it. The mtg-b1000 is an excellent choice. I have one too. Completely agree with you! The gst-b400 on rubber could make for an excellent summer/beach holiday watch. By the way, which mudmaster have you got?

@@TheBoldHairspring Got this today and what I really don't like is you can't see the seconds or date / digital display unless you press the light really sad about this as otherwise a very nice watch .....
Great review. But TBH I think the B200 is still the best GSteel ever made. All the models with a 'turbine' look like fancy toys: the turbine spinner is a huge waste of space and the watches don't blend style and substance well enough (the style aspect is too comically exaggerated for my liking). B200 on the other hand (esp the blacked out version) can be worn equally well with formal or sports wear and is very functional, with its large display and seconds hand.
Casio literally launched this watch after I was determined to buy my first G-Shock if it wears well like your usual mechanical watches ... And there goes my money donated to Casio just weeks after. And I tell you, IT IS GOOD
Top quality for the money. Durable, tough, precise, self-powering, good looking and affordable. What more could you ask for? I own the B200, and still like it, but this one is on my radar too..
Looks pretty good, the only issue with me is that my wrist size. Its 6.25 inch dia. Im ok with the size of the watch / lug to lug etc. The issue i have is the minimum adjustment on the bracelet. I cant wear some watches due to the bracelet is still loose even after reducing the maximum length of the bracelet. What about this model?
Also, if you go google you can see they've released a beautiful version of this watch for the Japanese market (hopefully coming to Euorpe/US): GST-B400XD-1A2JF. IMHO that is the best looking and most legible of the bunch...
I just purchased the XD version and it is stunning! Highly legible indices and the blue text and second markers add a nice splash of color to the dial - fantastic!
Hello again. Sorry to bother you with another question (this will be the last one) about the Casio GST B-400 model (I remember that you no longer have that watch....) And what about the visibility of the two little negative display? Is it visible enough? Thank you very much for your help.
Hi, no worries! That's what the channel is for! You can ask me all the questions you have. Yes all the hands will align accordingly. The small negative displays are a matter of personal preference. In my case, I've never had any problems reading them as long as the hands are not in the way.

Since I like the look of the Gst B400 and the rubber strap it has, but I would go for the GST-B500 just because of the size. Perhaps for those with large wrists this does not matter, but for me who has a 16 to 16.5 cm wrist size does matter.
Hi Abraham. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy my content.I just checked the dimensions of both and at least on paper they are almost identical.
