Known rhapsody 1 for 15 years and discovered rhapsody 2 and 3 a few years later when it was still only in Japanese at the time and have been wanting to play it since I can’t wait to finally do so🙏🎺
@omensoffate completly agree. I streamed it while I was playing. If I wasn't trying to add completed games to my streams I would've quit it. I enjoyed the story but basically hated everything else.
Thanks for the awesome review,as always. My LE just came in the mail and I forgot it was coming. I preordered blindly months ago because I enjoyed the first game so much!
Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles comes out on August 29,2023 I preordered it from the Nis Classics game site and it says the release date is August 29,2023.
I'm new to the Rhapsody series, I thought this collection was all I needed. Then was made aware of the NIS V3 having the first game. I was able to pick that up now just waiting for this bundle to come in.
The Rhapsody game that was on Nintendo DS was never on Nis Classics Volume 3 The PlayStation 1 version of Rhapsody 1 a Musical Adventure is on Nis Classics Volume 3.
If Bandai Namco could learn at least A LITTLE bit from other companies, we'd be having 2D Tales on modern consoles now. Instead they're giving fans half-assed remasters of Symphonia. I respect them, but it frustrates me so much.
Can't ever understand what's Namco afraid of releasing more classic Tales games. Surely people would love Phantasia original release as SqEni did it with Trials of Mana at 2019.
It’s kinda ironic that these games never got a localization and now they’re being released first in English outside Japan and on physical while the japanese releases are digital only. It’s too bad that the english releases don’t have japanese text option.. :(
One of the localizers on that Thousand Arms team now works at Rocket Panda, but I talked to him about how that game showed me how to talk to girls and it didn’t work irl
definitely looking forward to this, the original game was one of the first games i imported on psone (along with Xenogears) and these look super charming. apologies if i missed this in review (bad brain-fart habbits) but did you encounter any issues with crashing on switch, i ask because i think a couple of games on the previous collections had that issue on switch (though most were patched iirc)
Rhapsody 1 was the jumping point for me to play the Ar Tonelico games since ITS RARE that you get a "disney"-esque JRPG and it pays off sadly Ar Tonelico's side-quel Ciel noSurge and Ar noSurge is in some licensing hell, sigh.... I mean I get it Ciel noSurge is a hard game to consume but its required reading literally to understand Ar noSurge
The original game is NOT on PS4 / PS5, correct? If.true, can't see getting this (don't have a Switch), and the 1st game being semi required. Odd that they wouldn't have put out the Prinny classics on PlayStation.
They are actually similar 25 - 30 hours. If you play them on easier difficulty I think it’s possible to go way faster. The bulk of the runtime is dialog until near the end.
Question, is there any performance difference between the PS5 and switch version? Am thinking of getting the switch one so that I can play on the go but not sure if the PS5 have any boost in performance compared to the switch ones, can't seems to find anything on the net about this.
What is NISA thinking in releasing 3 games in the same month ffs? Yea, Rhapsody and Legend of Nayuta are more appealing to the Switch fans, while Monochrome Mobius is PS4/PS5 only, but still.
@NoisyPixelNews Didn't think La Pucelle was Rhapsody 4? Great game but didn't remember it connecting at all outside of the typical NIS multiverse shenanigans for Easter egg characters. *Google it, never realized it was the same world since I got into NIS games after disgeae and never knew of 2 and 3 back in those lawless low internet days. So not technically 4, but more connection than the usual cameo characters.
@@NoisyPixelNews yes it looks to be a great game, but alas I won't go for it, instead I go with Sea of Stars, so many good games out that you need to chose carefully. Hope to see a review of SoS too from Noisy😉 (or did I miss it). Tx. Also my time to play is limited and I have a huge backlog.
If any of you are a fan of Slayers then you'll love this, the type of humor and character quirks feels so 90s and yet oddily refreshing.
Great comment. I am a huge fan of Slayers the anime.

The first 5 seconds are all that were needed to sell me this game.
same for me
modern action rpg is in trend right now but every now and then classic jrpg just kinda hit the spot
I agree
Ff16 was a terrible “action” rpg

Love that art in the thumbnail!
There’s so much good art for the game
Love the old school graphics. But I’m waiting for the Star Ocean 2 remaster. That’s one of my favourite games ever.

Thanks for your thoughts. I always like your reviews.
This game looks super cute. I'll have to check this out.
Thank you!
I played the first rhapsody in the nds and I love it. Looking forward for this
That’s the best version
Really excited for this one! Preordered it physically for my Switch collection.
I’m going to buy it digitally for my PS5. I have been looking forward to playing it everyday, and it will be here in just a few more days.

I just bought this game for my steam deck but I haven’t play it yet im busy playin sea of stars on my steam deck right now

La Pucella is also technically the 4th game in the series.
@@NoisyPixelNews I didn't know that either...Thank you!
NIS makes great rpg games.
2:55 what the actual ?!?!
Ok not gonna lie my backlog is the size of Mons Olympus but now I GOT to play the three Rhapsody games!
Its a shame they didn't actually dub the songs, since the original had English songs and audio, it would've been nice for them all to match.
Old atlus did this, nis america may not have that budget.
I hope they remaster artonelco series

I'm confused 😕 I'm looking back of the game cases...where is the first game?
Prinny Present Vol. 3
Volume 3 also has la pucelle, the 4th game in the same world.
All this does is make me with for more PS1 JRPG remasters. Where is my Thousand Arms Remaster Japan?!
One of the localizers on that Thousand Arms team now works at Rocket Panda, but I talked to him about how that game showed me how to talk to girls and it didn’t work irl
@@NoisyPixelNews You mean I can't just shower girls with weird items so they would just tolerate my blatant sexual harassment?!

Can you use Japanese voice acting? Or does this version have English voices only?

Well it's unfortunately that the first game is needed to play this.
Yea. At least there’s ways to play it and the first game isn’t very long like 24 hours

Maybe there's a monetary reason why not.
