For me it’s not worth being Top Dasher because in order to get that you have to accept whatever orders you get and stay at a high acceptance level, and I’m sorry but the orders on DoorDash where I live are often less than $7. So I am now doing mostly UberEats.
My goal is to make a little extra money but also have fun. I am definitely enjoying being a delivery driver. Right before I decided to do delivery driving I had filled out a few applications for part time jobs. I am so glad I decided to go this route. I LOVE being my own boss. I don't have a start time and can be out as long as I want. If I don't feel like driving one day, I can take the day off.

@@YourDriverMike After picking up multiple orders over the past 4 weeks from Noodles & Company my husband and I decided to try it. I told him that it always smelled really good. So we looked at their website and decided to try them. They have very tasty food, and wondered why we had not tried it before. I am sure we will get them again knowing that my son will like them as well. My son is a big pasta fan. :)

Here in a Vegas there's a lot of stacked orders but late at night, it's like 22 to 33 payout for few miles simply because there are not enough drivers. Also you get a lot of them like at 9:30 to 9:45 pm when a lot of places close. But the AI is very tricky. They definitely know how you are as a driver and they will trick you. Specially with quests. The great part of it now is that there are so many hot spots all over town. I sometimes take orders because I know the customer has been waiting for a long time for a driver to pick it up and I do it for them honestly.

My grandma lived in Mira Mesa, my god mother is in PB but only like 5 minutes from La Jolla, and my aunt and one of my cousins is in El Cajon. I love going back to visit. ;)

I grew up in Poway when Poway was a cool small town.
I still have family there. I went back to live there in '13.
As a single woman, it was difficult to find an affordable living situation.
So, I moved out in '17 headed back to Central California, where I raised my kids.
Much cheaper here for sure, albeit, as I'm getting much older, I want to move back to the San Diego area. And if this gig pans out for me, I'll take it on the road back home with me. 🙂
It's definitely my impression that when the promos go over $1 in my market, especially when announced a day or two in advance, I have a real hard time getting any orders, let alone good ones. I suspect there is a glut of drivers, and the newer, less experienced drivers who are less picky are getting preferential treatment on getting orders. If the high promo starts around the beginning of my scheduled shift, I won't waste my time staying logged on if I don't get anything fairly quickly. I almost always make a lot more $$ when there is no promo, or maybe a dollar, then anything higher than that.
I’ve learned this myself! I would DoorDash 12am-3am because of the $3.00 peak pay and making $60-$70 over that time. Granted it’s not bad pay wise, but the distances I would drive and time I would be sitting around was grueling. I started dashing in the morning, no promos and have been averaging $170 over 5 hours of work. Very happy and glad to see that you’re noticing the patterns!
@@ThaiiAnh I've never tried mornings here. If I'm ever struggling, I might give it a shot. I've done brunches on the weekend, but many of the brunchie restaurants are so slammed that the wait times are just not worth it usually. I just stick to evenings now.

In the San Fernando Valley of LA I make an average of 80$ per 3 hours of lunch or dinner rush ($160 per day if i do both). Only been doing this for three weeks, and it's been very consistent and predictable. I've only had one weird day (which was on a Friday) where I made the lowest i've ever made on a three hour lunch run ($58) but then made the most i've ever made on a three hour dinner run ($170). Needless to say my mood changed drastically from that afternoon to night lol

Your DATA topic 2 is spot on. I do have one thing that may help. Many peeps who do this really just look at how much money gross vrs gas. That is the standard TA but most who have less of a mathematical understanding.....similar to my horrifically written English....most people are not good at mathematical concepts but understand analygis statements.....kinda like those "word problems" from math in the 80's.

Hit $630 batch bonus for 90 rides last weekend. Was tough but got it, needed 8 more rides could've had an additional $105. Still good. Most i got was 32 deliveries in a day. was $1,400 week for uber plus $210 on DD

I've had one bad week here in SW Florida on DD since the holidays. Been averaging around $25/hr as opposed to maybe $20/hr throughout the Fall. I only work evenings by choice. Not sure if it's just busier, or I am just that much better at choosing which orders to accept and when to work. Maybe it's both.

First day dashing they gave me a 3 deliveries in 2 days for $100 bonus. Then weekend challenges of 25 -35 deliveries in 3 days for $60-$70 bonus in the 2 weeks since.
Did DoorDash Saturday & Sunday Eve starting at 6pm worked a total 7hrs did $285 of which $139 came from tips over 19 orders , and 14 included liquor . So I averaged $40 and drove a total of 72 miles over the 2 nights .

I'm Really New @ GH. How can I avoid having my acceptance rate lowered? Yesterday I apparently recv'd offers while driving on a current job and my rate went down 20%. Missing them & rejecting them gives you the same end result: lowered A.R. However future orders do not? I'm confused about the future orders.
I have a question I have only been driving for a week now and my starting point says the next town over. I'm very busy in my town and I always get orders but then every order drags me over to my starting point the town over. On my scheduling my town does not show. How do I get to stay in my town with most of my drives.

I have tested out short deliveries vs taking longer ones . based on my vehicle I actually come out better for gas mileage... driving more miles but double pay on Grub Hub vs shorter del with door dash.. same time same del . But In my area GrubHub avg del is $13.00 vs between 8/9 per delivery with door dash.. wish i had hybrid but I dont.. lol so I save money overall on spread out del in the long run ..

Record data? No. It's auto archived by the app (95%)--I use Uber. From there I simply input the total pay and tip received per delivery based on app internal data (this accounts for the missing 5%. Thus, accounting for Date/Time, Trip ID, Type, Fare Base, Fare Trip Supplement, Fare Eats Driver Payment, Fare Surge, Promotion Consecutive Trips, Promotion Quest, & Tip.

Fellow 'burgh Dasher here! I appreciate your videos. I'm very new to this, as I've only been doing DD for a little over 2 weeks. I work a FT job, I don't really NEED a side hustle, but who couldn't use a little extra cash? I'm actually amazed at all the different views on food delivery that I've seen since starting. I've met folks who do this full time, just need a side hustle, use it as a date activity...Some say DD sucks, stick with Grub or Uber Eats. Many say it doesn't pay enough, some can't believe how much extra they get. Such a wide variety of views. Personally, I'm lucky to live within a 5 mile radius of many restaurants, and most dashes are less than 5 miles. I average $8/delivery, and roughly $23/hour. This is certainly something anyone can do, and a nice alternative to the traditional PT job. Keep up the great videos!

I am a retired & disabled soldier so tomorrow is my 1st day with uber eats.
Any tips n your phone battery not so fast. I have an iPhone xr and in 3 hours despite I’m using a charger while driving my phone is almost dead and keeps dying so fast!!! I even stopped using my mileage tracker app and my Bluetooth connection on my car..so I’m just using the delivery app now.
Take it to apple, probably needs a new battery bc I have a 6s and have never had problems if I charge while driving

Since it’s based on market and driver unfortunately there’s nothing you can concretely do to trigger a large bonus. Perhaps driving on other apps would trigger a bonus to get you back on the original app.

Well I don't believe any of these earnings, because I tried working + tips sucks!! People aren't tipping + too many drivers in NYC, PLUS Traffic doesn't help. It's disappointing cause the platforms are making all the money + we are working 4 nothing....
