It's in Record Attack. There's a setting in X Sonic's Customisation Menu (Custom 3 + Custom 1+2) after getting all emeralds (and all fake emeralds) that allows you to play Record Attack as X Sonic, starting in either Super, Dark, or Dark Super.
so basically go in x sonics customisation menu then go down until you see super time attack go to full dark or dark. Full dark is full form Dark is semi dark sonic emeralds just gives you chaos emeralds and super is super sonic

You need to hit enemies and to go phase 3 you need to hit them and then after a while you will go dark super so basically just overkill enemies

youre probably not playing with the latest version. older versions of srb2 did that, the latest 3 let you save with addons
