I bought that same button hole cutter set from Wawak. That purchase made me feel a little nostalgic, as my mom had a hardwood block and chisel, and we couldn’t find it in her sewing stuff after she passed away. So superior to using a seam ripper, in my opinion.
Good scissors are essential. I use them more than I use my rotary. Your makes are perfect. The blouse is super flattering and I’d like to own that sweat shirt fabric. Glad you got in some sewing therapy. Loss takes a hit to ones entire being. It comes in waves and when least expected. Keep doing what you need to do to get through each day. We will be grateful for any sewing and sharing you do.

Love your Rhapsody so pretty, makes me think of a vintage Christmas card! I loved the children's sweatshirts when I saw them on IG, so cute! I only got one sewing related Christmas gift this year and it was the book from Cashmerette! So excited to get into it but I have to dig out the sewing room first! Since my daughter's wedding things have just gotten dumped in there so finding a place to walk is difficult! lol When you said your scissors reminded you of your Grandma's I was thinking at the same time, that they reminded me of my Mom's. I remember the first time she caught me cutting paper with her pinking sheers! I did live to tell the story but barely! lol

Hi Megan - Nice to see you again and I'm sorry for your loss, my father passed in December as well, though many years ago now. Love looking at your new sewing tools! I got my very first shears in about 1975 or 6 and have been using them ever since! I'm only just now trying to use a rotary cutter with any success. I'm so used to the precision of the scissors. And yay for the buttonhole cutter! I've just gotten the very same one and used it for the first time last week!
Nice to see you back! I grew up all over Alberta (Lethbridge, outside of Ponoka, Olds, Hughenden, Delburne, and Red Deer just to name a few places lol) but have lived in Vancouver for over 20 years now and I can’t imagine going back to -20 or below anymore :) I received the gift pack of the midnight addition LDH scissors this Christmas and love them. I mostly use a rotary cutter as well but have been reaching more for the scissors then I used to because of how great they are.
@@MeganGMakes I have been seeing that on all my families posts around Alberta. Stay safe and hopefully a chinook will show up sometime soon for all of you so you can warm up a bit 😀

There is a difference between depression and grief. Grief will pass, and lighten over time. Depression does not. It isn’t necessary for you to be regularly posting, or anything but what you can handle. Please do take any time to grieve, it is heavy and dark and overwhelming and kids go through it differently. Do not assume your legitimate grief is depression nor take any medication for depression because the grief will wait for you (don’t ask!) , however, I am trained in bereavement and wanted to make that distinction. You’re doing fine, it sounds like. ❤️🙏🏽
You have such a good point with the difference. I do know that how I feel will lighten and change over time. I also know from past experience that I can try to avoid grieving, but those feelings will find me anyway. I appreciate your words so much - thanks for taking the time to comment ❤️❤️
