This is lovely, John. I am not normally a fan of tremolo in this sort of music, but somehow having it in the backing part (which is an interesting arrangement in itself) makes it work. Absolutely haunting.

Thank you, Richard, much appreciated. I had the OM and mando’ with me whilst in Scotland this last week…this was the tune I focussed on/was able to experiment with during the times I was able to entertain myself in the evenings. When I got up this morning it was a relatively straight forward recording.

That figures, John. I nearly remarked that you had got things together very quickly after your return and here is the explanation.

A song for training your falcon whilst standing upon some windswept cragg. 🪶🏞️

Interesting, John. I've never heard this tune played as anything other than a straight-ahead 4/4 march under the title "The Foggy Dew". (Except as the air to the sound Building Up And Tearing England Down.) Coincidentally, I posted a "revisited" version of said march to my youtube channel yesterday. As you say Aidan, interesting. The tune you play with the title The Foggy Dew isn’t the song I am familiar with that title (i.e. the Irish rebel song). However, the notes you play are indeed very similar to the notes I play in the tune entitled The Bright Hollow Fog. The tune you play is listed on thesession as a March (the second ‘The Foggy Dew’ in the list of tunes that are provided when one searches using this title). The tune I play is described as a Strathspey on thesession (searching using the title The Bright Hollow Fog). As noted on my YT channel, my version of The Bright Hollow Fog is based on the dots provided by SteveF on thesession (under the tune heading of The Bright Hollow Fog) and the style of the said tune played by (a) John Williams on the album I provide a link to. The group Inis Fail, on the album The Blue Bottle, also play a version similar to that played by John Williams. Mine is not to reason why…I just play tunes I like the sound of 🤣
