Their loving relationship would turn violent with China filing over 10 police reports against him. Sadly, Just weeks after China went to the police to report that he broke into her home and threatened to kill her, he would shoot her multiple times inside their local pawn shop with the police right outside the door. The problem is a restraining order is only useful in a legal sense. It’s not helpful in practice because if someone is unhinged enough to harm you in the first place it’s unlikely to be much of a deterrent to them. You have to really vet people and take red flags seriously at the first instance. I hate that this bum did her like that 🙄😥
Also protection orders essentially gives the offender the victims address to know where to stay away from. Just move and change online presense

She kept going back to him after 10 police reports and NEVER filed to get the cops to arrest him. B. She never even got a weapon to try to defend herself. I agree. I've been in this situation and have 4 boys. I knew he would eventually kill me one day. I was very careful and very smart in the way I moved to get out of that situation. U can't just sit around n wait for the them to take u out cause they will. Beatings got worse, property always damaged, n eventually pulled a gun on me. It's no way I'm waiting for the police or anybody to protect me n my boys. Some of us women have to do better but first of all CHOOSE better

She said she was afraid of him but never placed distance between him. She went back to the same store they both owned. I can't blame the police for who you allow in between your legs.

There is only so much law enforcement and the courts can do! Your best and safest choice is to NOT get involved with these type of men. He had an extensive record prior to their relationship. RUN in the opposite direction. Don’t give them the time of day and especially not a child that ties you to them forever. Yes, people with records can change, but that is rare and an exception to the rule. Stay away from them. It is not your job to be a part of their redemption story. Restraining orders are a piece of paper. They hold no weight or protection. Avoid the drama altogether and stay away! Don’t get involved with these kinds of men!

Restraining orders do work if you're serious. My late husband hit me and dared me to let the police in our house. I opened the door, gave my report and he was arrested. He actually called me to get him out. The judge restrained him from any contact with me. We went to court, he was put on probation, which angered him. As soon as we stepped outside, he accused me of putting him through all of that and hit me right outside the courthouse, but didn't see the policemen standing in front of the door. Thinking he would get by or trying to make me too scared to call them, I asked if they saw him hit me, and they did. Again, he didn't get it. I told them I would press charges and he was locked up. The mistake women make is when they choose when to charge the violent men in their lives. When they should charge them every time, even if it means getting them arrested at their place of employment. This is when you're married, if you're not married break up after the first time. They will hit you again.

AND?!?!? SO?!?? I mean, it’s not the first time this BS was used in a defense and I have yet to understand what it implies and why it’s used so often to plea for leniency or during a bond hearing.
To me, the “ties” one has to the community should actually be used AGAINST the defendant who’s committed such heinous act in the said community!!! If you have so much “ties” the your community that you’re supposed to care and respect, then why murder someone in your community?!??
