Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor - This book is a unique, smart fantasy. The writing is beautiful and lyrical. Laini Taylor has such a command of language. I think Ravenclaws would be enthralled. (This Ravenclaw certainly was!) My Lady Jane - Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows - Because this one is wacky and witty and clever The Brief History of the Dead - Kevin Brockmeier - This book is slower paced but very philosophical. There's a lot to ponder and think about here.
The colour is the least offensive Ravenclaw house issue, the house mascot is not a raven, but everyone seems to think it is and it’s constantly wrong on merch
'When Ravenclaws like me something, they LIKE IT.' I never realized this trait of mine was because me being a Ravenclaw ha! This video 💙 Girrrrl, TNotW and The Raven Cycle are one of my favourites ever! And every other book you mentioned is already on my tbr except Scythe (but I know it's good, everyone says so) and you have me really intrigued by Ink. So true that Ravenclaws love trying new things. I didn't read paranormal much before I got into the Raven Cycle and then I was blown away. For me what makes it so Ravenclaw is Gansey's personality lol. He is Ravenclaw to the bone. Also tbh Kvothe was more of a Slytherin to me, but the book itself and the tone and the magic system overall was soooo Ravenclaw! One of the reasons, if not THE reason, I loved it so much 💙 also All the Light We Can Not See also gives me Ravenclaw vibes
You hit so many of my traits and loves on the nose. As a Ravenclaw I’m obsessed with the Raven cycle. I couldn’t put the series down because I was so curious about what happens and how the book works. Amazing series
@@fmg_draws Joanne likes to mess with people! Although....none of the houses' mascots are literal. A griffen isn't a lion, a badger isn't called a hufflepuff
Omg when you talked about what you think Ravenclaws are like I was like YESSS THATS SO ME! I literally just got Sleeping Giants a couple of weeks ago! So excited to read it now! Amazing video
Ohh yes I definitely agree on the fandom part 💙😊 proud Ravenclaw here haha and thank you for this video! Can’t wait to see which books you’ve chosen for Slytherin 🌸
I'm Ravenclaw and loving your recommendations. I've read the Sherlock Holmes stories and loved them... also Stephen Fry narrates the audiobook which is amazing. I want to read all the books you mentioned.... sorry wallet you're getting a hammering again!
I'm a Ravenclaw and Ready Player One is actually my favorite book, so I got so excited when you started by it xD I certainly didn't like the movie that much, but I agree, the audiobook is a good idea. I read it physically at first, but I had a hard time in the beginning and the audiobook definitely makes it easier. I listened to it during my second read of the book and I think Wil Wheaton does an amazing job! And ahh~ I really wanna read Name of the Wind
I absolutely LOVE the Mysterious Benedict Society series and the Three Times Lucky series, and I think they fit well into Ravenclaw. I am adding Ink and Sleeping Giants to my reading list!
I am a Ravenclaw and I've either loved the books you recommend or have them waiting on my shelf, so I'd say good job! I'm only not sure about Ready Player One and Stalking Jack the Ripper, not on my immediate tbr...
100% agree with Sherlock. I'm a Revenclaw and it's my all time favorite books. Also All the books in the list that I have read is my fav, so I might need to add Ink and The Name in the wind in my TBR ☺
It’s so weird because I’m a Ravenclaw and I dnf Scythe, I liked The Raven Boys because of the characters but hated the writing and “plot”. I know I won’t like The Name of the Wind lol. Maybe I need to re take my house test 😭😭
Kristinn’s Books Books I don’t like ready player One or Sleeping Giants am struggling to get into the name of the wind and not super interested in any of the other books on the list so maybe I should retake my house test too 😂
It would probably be more difficult to do, but how about Durmstrang and Beauxbatons inspired recommendations? Or food and drink that reminds you of each house - maybe with the book box teas?
Don’t worry G, you did us well. I haven’t read all of those, but the ones I haven’t are on my TBR. I especially appreciate the Bronze shout out. A small thing but it drives me a bit crazy. One, because the silver is just inaccurate. But also because as a color, I have always preferred bronze over silver. Lol. Looking forward to your next video!
I'm a Ravenclaw and I loved the Raven Cycle series! So many people were complaining about the science and the history in the first book, but I loved it, ha ha! I have To Name the Wind on my Kindle and you have made me even more excited to read it. Gosh, I am trying to think of another book and I'm blanking right now. I think a fun house related video to do would be "perfect gifts" for each house. And, yeah... the blue and silver makes me sad because I am not a fan of silver to begin with. ⚡
OMG YES The Raven Cycle is just so Ravenclaw! I think Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno, and An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson are perfect Ravenclaw books
Hi G sorry to hear you are having a bad day. I too suffer with Mental illness and know what it is like. I am in the middle of The Name of The Wind. I’m loving it. I impulse bought it when looking for a different book. No regrets. Love Raven Boys. Maggie Stiefvater is one of my favorite authors. Her Wolves of Mercy Falls was the series that made me fall in love with her writing.
Hi! As a Ravenclaw and totally agreeing with what you said about being very intense with fandoms, I will recommend any of the books of the Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson, there are a lot of books and they are amazing but some are pretty thick so be warned^^
OMG I love the Raven Cycle so so so much!!!! I borrowed the books from the library but I am seriously considering buying the set - the covers are beautiful too. Ravenclaw here by the way. I read Ink too, I enjoyed it and read Spark but didn't enjoy it enough to read the third book. Will definitely check out The Name of The Wind :D
I'm Ravenclaw and I really agree with that fandom part. If I like something, I really LIKE it and could just spent days talking about that 😂 also thank you for the amazing recommendations! Especially Ink sounds super interesting 😍
Loved the video, and omg I need to finish the Name of the Wind but I keep getting sidetracked with other books, which is odd because I actually really enjoy what I've read so far of Name of the Wind. And I'm curious about the book Stalking Jack the Ripper. May be my next book after I finish the Priory of the Orange Tree . 😊
I am very interested in reading Ink for a while now, it seems super different!! I also loved Sleeping Giants, I have the sequel already, I need to pick it up!! Loved the recommendations :)

I agree 100% with Sherlock being Ravenclaw! I want to read Ink but I'd be terrified to live in that world. Maybe you can sort other booktubers into Hogwarts houses? That would be awesome. You could even sort animals into houses! Which sounds silly but I'd love to see it ❤
Thank you G! I love your recommendations! I am looking for books to read now for quite some time now! If I would recommend a book series it would be the hidden university (in Dutch: de verborgen universiteit) from Natalie Koch. But I'm not sure if the already translated it to English yet. Thank you for the recommendations!I'm going to trying to at least 4 of the books that you recommended! I recommend, has a Ravenclaw, the books of Percy Jackson, the shadowhunters and A court of thorns and roses. ^^ Hope you like them
Oh wow!!! I’m so surprised to see The Name of the Wind :) My Brother just sent me that one and demanded I read it...I’ll definitely give it a go if it’s your favorite!!!
Interesting video. I completely agree on most, especially Sherlock, but I actually think Kvothe is more of a Slytherin than a Ravenclaw as he's also cunning and resourceful. Plus when he gets angry he gives off super Slytherin vibes to me. *minor Name of the Wind spoilers below* Plus he basically goes to magic school to get access to more information and power so he can pursue his revenge and not because he values learning, though he does learn to appreciate it later.
Wow your description for Ravenclaw people is so accurate. I'm a ravenclaw and I can say everything you said was true :) at least in my case❤️ thank you for inspiring me to read more
Don’t worry, I loved the Ready Player One movie and the book! You can absolutely like them both, though I do see a lot of hate towards the movie because of the differences, but it’s a good movie! 🍿
G, I love you for including Sherlock Holmes! I adored this book since I first read anything about it 😍 As a scientist and ravenclaw I also absolutely agree with sleeping giants, this was exactly my thought while I read the book💙
I think that a good series for Ravenclaw is the Shadowhunters series. It has action, romance, wit, and a lot of magic/supernatural things. I highly recommend it!
I'm Ravenclaw and Ready Player One, The name of the Wind are favorites. I like Scythe, the first it's ok, but the second is really good! Sherlock Holmes ♥
It seems to me Kvothe is a big Gryffindor case, with his emotions influencing his choices, and also because of how much he cares about people and occasionally likes to impress them... interesting u see him as a ravenclaw... Also, please read the Farseer Trilogy, I am practically begging you at this point.
I always flip flop between Ravenclaw and Slytherin when I take the test, so I call myself a Slytherclaw. But the point is I LOVED your recommendations. Ready player one is one of my favorite books ever so you won major points for that and the rest of the recommendations I'm going to HAVE to check out
You are SO on point with this video! I tend to really LIKE something if I like it. So much so that I had to limit my hobbies otherwise I’d be doing too much for all of them and go overboard 😂 The Raven cycle is literally my life so you couldn’t have been more accurate 😉 I’m reading Scythe at the moment but I’m underwhelmed... I think I share your opinion so when I finish this one I’ll still give book two a try. Ready Player One, The Name is the wind, sleeping giants... all on my shelves and waiting for me to dive in. I’m all the more excited now! I did try Sherlock Holmes but I really didn’t like the way he described people and I found one novel to be full of racist descriptions so I’ll pretty much just stick to the tv series and adaptions from here on out 😂
I would say the main traits of a Ravenclaw is being wise, original, creative, individualistic/unique and free spirited. People always seem to think Ravenclaws are just smart in school and love studying but that’s not what being a Ravenclaw means 😅
I am going to get The Name of the Wind read this year. I am. I swear. Dammit. Ooooh, yes, Scythe is totally Ravenclaw! That's a great pic I wouldn't have thought of! Gansey is TOTALLY a Ravenclaw. I love all of these selections. You are the best. 😊
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, was waiting for it 😍 seeing "INK" reminded me that i need to get the last book in the trilogy "Scar" and guess what " The name of the wind" is on sale on kindle... guess it's fate 😂 i love Sherlock Holmes... i mean i am a sherlockian so 😌😌 and i seriously need to get my hands on " Stalking jack the ripper" 😈 can't believe there is one more house video to go... how about choosing books based on the subjects of Hogwarts... but i guess it was done for the owls and newts tbr 😅
The fandom thing made me laugh and then wonder if you were spying on me because that is indeed me. Lol. I am weird that I actually like the blue/silver Ravenclaw combo. Yes, I know it is not book colors, but I, to me, they are more aesthetically pleasing.
Are you sure you're not a Ravenclaw? Creative, witty, intelligent and into fandoms 🧐 Anyway, sleeping giants sounds super interesting and I think my Ravenclaw pick at the moment would be the quiet at the end of the world by Lauren James. I read it this week and it was intriguing, clever and insightful so I think it fits
Can't wait to reread The Name of the Wind next month because I am trash for that book. Also YES to The complete Sherlock Holmes Collection. I love those stories.
I laughed so hard at this. I once won a Harry Potter pubquiz. And yes. If ya girl is right about something, the world may know it! 😂 I think The Truly Devious serie by Maureen Johnson is very much Ravenclaw-ish. Highly underrated books! Highly recommend you like a dark and twisted mysterie! 💙 Another great video G! 🥰😘
Thank you so much for doing this for us. I almost fell off my bed when you showed Sherlock Holmes because I love it so much. I lways recommend it to people. I would also recommend Jules Verne, his mind was ahead of his time.
*book roast* my first recommendation is Ready Player One! *me, looks up while reading THAT book while listening to this* this is awkward. Imma Gryffindor.
Really?? Ravenclaw is the last house I would've put Name of the Wind in :))) I can't for the life of me remember if I actually commented in the last video, but this series strikes me more as a Gryffindor or Slytherin. Actually no, just a Slytherin XD also thanks, now I want to read all the books I haven't read from this pile :))
What’s your top Ravenclaw book recommendation? 💕
The Secret History and If We Were Villains 👀
Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor - This book is a unique, smart fantasy. The writing is beautiful and lyrical. Laini Taylor has such a command of language. I think Ravenclaws would be enthralled. (This Ravenclaw certainly was!)

The Brief History of the Dead - Kevin Brockmeier - This book is slower paced but very philosophical. There's a lot to ponder and think about here.
Book Roast And Then There Were None or The Mysterious Benedict Society💙
I think the truly devious series is very ravenclaw: school for eccentrics and prodigies, obsessive quest for knowledge, riddles!
Fiona Earp THIS!! i’m a ravenclaw and that series was SO fun for me to read
The colour is the least offensive Ravenclaw house issue, the house mascot is not a raven, but everyone seems to think it is and it’s constantly wrong on merch
You can do “Dark” books or “From the Restricted Section”

Same! I love the series too- though i didn't realzie it's Ravenclaw-y. Just that Gansey is 😂
Moment of silence for the lost colours of ravenclaw 😭😭
I know right??
Definitely!
Also, why is the house-animal of Ravenclaw an eagle?!
How the f* did J. K. Rowling come up with this?!
@@fmg_draws Joanne likes to mess with people! Although....none of the houses' mascots are literal. A griffen isn't a lion, a badger isn't called a hufflepuff
lazy homebody true.
I can understand why the costume designers for the Harry Potter movies changed the logo of Ravenclaw
@@fmg_draws They "dumbed it down" for the films. But since Ravenclaw is the pedantic, studious house, it made more people annoyed
Love how you do the recommendations on not just the cliché traits of a house! Its so nice and refreshing to see 😊 also love your house related style 😍
Thank you so much I really did try! 🙈♥️♥️
Omg when you talked about what you think Ravenclaws are like I was like YESSS THATS SO ME!

Great recommandations ! 😁 I think any book with a philosophical aspect would be good for Ravenclaw, for example The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

Ooooh, yes, Scythe is totally Ravenclaw! That's a great pic I wouldn't have thought of!

Thank you so much for doing this for us. I almost fell off my bed when you showed Sherlock Holmes because I love it so much. I lways recommend it to people. I would also recommend Jules Verne, his mind was ahead of his time.

I'm a Ravenclaw who gets in fandoms hardcore 😂
