Amazing video UA-cam really allows you to explain your picks so much better and it’s so much easier to digest than reading 10 slides on instagram. Very excited for the next list.
This is definitely your best written video. It was able to be incredibly understandable despite discussing a myriad of dense concepts that only truly make sense once you’ve actually read the books, although I still don’t really get what the thesis of the Neapolitan Novels is, but explaining that understandably in this short a time frame would be an almost impossible.
Thank you!! It was challenging but I did my best to write in an audience focused way so I’m glad that came through. That’s the hardest one to express yes, it’s tough to pin down without having read it.
One Hundred Years of Solitude is the favourite novel of my favourite booktuber and seeing that you have a lot of love for it I definitely want to read it even more now
Who’s the booktuber??? I’d love to check them out. But yes it’s amazing, I haven’t read it in 2 years now and it would definitely be my first choice to return to. Currently reading another Marquez book and enjoying it
@@thoughtworld5391 her UA-cam name is * e m m i e * :) her videos and her personality is so comforting and lovable, and she’s done so many videos where she mentions the book, I think she’s now even studying it so maybe there will be more future vids on it! and I hope you’re enjoying your read then! 100 years of solitude will definitely be my first Márquez book.
UA-cam content fits you better than Instagram imo cos it allows you more time to kind of casually explain takes that can come off as polarising with the limited expressive capabilities of instagram if you get what I mean
really good video, just a suggesestion, the way you talk would maybe suit better a in a video showing images instead of you (or as a podcast in the same way). Obviously youre still developing your on camera charisma, and presence which is not bad though. Maybe experiment with more cuts and an camera angle less direct, or do the images between the explanations and yourself for the intr/outro of the video and when naming each pick (like Thomas Flight videos, but it may be harder to find appropiate visuals when talking about books). Idrk tbh, I dont make youtube videos It was still very good! keep going making good content
Great video bruv, I'm super excited to read The Neapolitan Novels ever since you first talked about them a few months ago. Definitely gonna read them this year. Also for sure want to read the Birthgrave books and at some point In Search Of Lost Time. Ulysses and the two Dostoyevsky novels are waiting to be read on my shelf right next to me but I'm so scared to start these behemoths of books bro, I'm so scared bro, help bro. I also still have to finish The Trial (reading in German of course), which I started months ago lol. My favorite books so far are One Hundred Years Of Solitude, Momo, Pride and Prejudice, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass, The Girl Who Wasn't There and by far my favorite book of all time: The Neverending Story. I really think you should read The Neverending Story, I'm very confident it would make your top 10. It's also a very fun read and the symbolism is sooo beautiful and thematically potent. The premise of the book alone should have you interested tbh.
You got a lot of cooking to do bro 🙏🏻 I think you’ll fall pretty similarly to me here, I’d actually be surprised if you didn’t go Birthgrave/NN top 2 ngl. Also, word I’ll definitely put it on my plan to read, just looked it up looks interesting.
Ulysses is definitely one of those books that yields something different with each read, It’s my favourite book of all time but I’d be wrong to claim I grasp the greater picture of it at all
Stoner, Anna Karenina, East of Eden. I’m cool with any of those over Slaughterhouse but SHV is more fun accessible and useful for getting people into lit so I gave it the nod.
Nietzsche’s main influence is Dostoyevsky so I’d imagine! I’ve been steered away from him given his recent association with edgy teenagers with superiority complexes online, but I’m sure his actual work is very insightful. I tried reading Zarathustra about a decade ago but can’t say I remember much!
@@thoughtworld5391 fair, I’m taking a course on existentialism at Baylor(private Baptist school) i didn’t know until now that Dostoevsky was a Christian but it’s cool how Nietzsche an atheist and Dostoevsky a theist can fall on similar ground, great video by the way🤌
@@thoughtworld5391 btw it would be interesting to see your top list of writers. Maybe even mangakas included? Since technically manga is also literature :)
This is so much easier than holding onto my phone screen and reading white text on black background.
I agree!

Totally agree and thank you!!

Definitely, I totally agree. The added levels of communication really helps and it’s much easier to listen/watch than read small text on a slide.
Just getting into reading and you’ve put me on some great media in the past, looking forward to getting into some of these🙏🙏
Mulholland Drive changed my life

I want Hunting the White Witch epub 😢
You can get it on kindle!
Have you read any Nietzsche, crime and punishment and some of his work sound very similar
