I have been grinding ever since and the best thing I have gotten is a white marker.

as far as I know, we can't store it to our backpack and we can't refill it with ammo box so if you find it, just use it with its 5 ammo, and throw it away CMIIW
You could’ve take in more advantage and find more ammo boxes and keep shooting until you find ure dream gun but I didn’t know the golden egg gun wasn’t storable that’s sad
I can't confirm about the plains 5000 and 7000 since I don't grind much there, also if I can remember correctly, I have never found rare items there, maybe I'm just not lucky tho

Tip: go to the plains map and stop at 7000m and 5000m it is a higher chance of getting rare items like one time a got a golden egg launcher

Try to get egg launcher so if one of ur rare items went missing you can bring it back
