    So glad you listened to your mothers instinct and thank god both you and the perfect baby buggy are happy and healthy, sadly I nearly lost my best friend to the same thing and unfortunately when she woke up her baby had grown her angel wings. I'm so happy that your story had a different ending and now we get to see your beautiful buggy grow ❤️❤️❤️

    Congrats on your beautiful boy! He was born a month after my first son, Ryker. I also had an emergency section that took place very quickly and was pretty scary, so I totally feel for you. It's awful when you see all these other moms having "normal" births around you (and on youtube) and you don't have a happy experience to remember when reflecting back on the birth of your child. But it's unfortunately something that happens to a lot of women. I hope both of you are doing great and the wonders of having an amazing kid help soften the pain of his traumatic birth. I know it really helps me!

    I am just now watching this. I had my baby December 11th 2016 premature at 34 weeks. I had severe eclampsia that developed like THAT! (Snaps fingers). Had an emergency c section too and OMG I started to not breathe just like you! It was VERY scary. My husband brought the baby over to me and I didn't even look at baby I just kept mouthing "I can't breathe" and then I don't know if they put me under or if I passed out but I woke up in recovery a few hours later. Baby was in the nicu too. It was a scary first child birth. Baby is doing great now though. I have been watching you guys for months now and now I am going back and watching all of Levi's "baby" videos just because now I have a preemie as well. All of your families videos have been such a great distraction for me while being pregnant and now a very good learning tool for me taking care of a newborn. I am so excited to see mini bug soon! (Probably in the next couple days right?) yay! Anywho I hope you actually read this! Thanks for being my UA-cam "friend"!

    I'm so surprised that she didn't tell you to go to the hospital immediately when you told her you were bleeding so much! That much blood is a sign of either placenta previa (which you had) or placenta abruption, both of which are definitely an emergency! I'm so glad that you both were safe!

  • @carlaalexander139
    @carlaalexander139 8 років тому +18

    Aw, sounds like you had placenta previa! Is that what they told you happened? I am dealing with that right now in this pregnancy, I'm surprised it wasn't identified at your anatomy ultrasound. I am just about 29 weeks now and in the hospital now until I deliver because I've had 2 slight bleeds already. Glad everything worked out in the end for you, so sorry you had to go through that! Your baby is adorable 💜

    • @carlaalexander139
      @carlaalexander139 8 років тому +2

      ***** Ugh that is super frustrating especially because you had no idea and did not expect your delivery to go that way at all. I can only imagine how terrifying and emotional that must have been. It is a tough thing to go through, I found out mine is complete placenta previa and by now, being almost 29 weeks with 2 bleeds already, the chances of it shifting enough to attempt a regular delivery are slim to none, so I am trying to prepare myself for the c-section, and at least I feel in good hands being in the hospital now until the time comes, in case he comes premature any point (I'm having a boy too!). I am hoping I can keep him happy in there at least until the 35 week mark like you! They say every day and week makes such a difference for their development. I just found your channels today and I love your videos, thanks for sharing your story and making such helpful videos! :)

Seth Rylan was born 11-12-13 weighing 6lbs 1oz. i just had tons of pain & no bleeding. i didn't have placenta previa. my water actually broke. i had contractions from Oct 31st till Nov 10th. placenta previa is usually diagnosed b4 ur water breaks.

    How I knew the difference when I was in labour: Braxton hicks contractions feels like mild cramping. You will know for sure you are in labour when the pain is sharper and constant because braxton hicks comes a little then goes. Don't wait till its hurting quite bad to then call your doctor. You shouldn't be having really bad cramps as intense as period pain if its braxton hicks.

    They messed up your epidural, you should not have been numb up in your chest. It sounds like the doctor went one level too high on your spine. Be sure and tell them next time you have a child, because they need to be aware. Also the epidural does hurt, but not as bad as you described, so the anesthesiologist might have messed up while doing it. I'm glad you didn't have any lasting issues. Also so glad you went to the ER. You saved both your and Levi's lives.

    • @SophiaElaine98
      @SophiaElaine98 8 років тому

      Actually depending on what she got it can numb you up to your chest! A spinal block will numb you up to your chest vs. an epidural which will numb you from the waste down. I gave birth via c-section using a spinal block and they told me before hand that it will numb you all the way up to your chest so more than likely they didn't mess up!

    • @TexasbyStorm
      @TexasbyStorm 8 років тому

      Sophia Rose it doesn't go up into your chest so that you cannot breathe on your own, if it does, they messed up.

  • @Ray24393

    Wow that is NOT okay. Thank god u went to the hospital when you did.. Like they didn't even have the right number?? So imagine you had sat there waiting for them to call you! You had placenta previa and that could have caused rupture of the placenta and been fatal for your baby. Thank goodness you went in. Always follow your instincts

    my labor story is kinda similar to yours. it started out all great and smooth sailing. I was dialating pretty quickly and I was handling it all like a champ. Then all of a sudden things start to slow down ans then im having all these different nurses/drs coming in, checking me, moving me, rotating me, and eventually put an oxygen mask on me. then all the sudden my dr flies in the door and says "natalie the baby is in distress we gotta go for an emergency c-section." i went into shock and immediately started throwing up and bawling. it all went so fast from then on...the cord was around her neck, so everytime I contracted it cut off her air and she was flat lining. she had to go to nicu also from swallowing fluid. but she is 2 now and healthy and running all over the place

      Putting her to sleep is standard procedure when the mother starts to panic or do anything that could cause issues with the procedure because her panicking could cause harm to herself and/or the baby depending on how the mother reacts

      You're blowing this way out of proportion these are all medical procedures that you have misunderstood strapping her arms down was so she didn't move during the procedure and harm herself or the baby and she didn't threaten to put her to sleep she just told her not to panic or she may have to get put to sleep to avoid risk of anything bad happening

    I've heard people say the spinal was the most painful part of the C-Section, and I've heard some say they didnt feel it at all, so I wonder if it has to do with how our spines are curved, or disc space, or possibly the anesthesiologist technique? I have had 4 C-Sections, all with Spinals, but Ive never felt anything more than some pressure or maybe even little sting at the beginning? I'm so happy he got here safely, and it appears you've recovered beautifully!! Congratulations!!

    My bloody show didn't look like a period or like yours in that one vlog. It felt like a gush of discharge, and when I went to the bathroom and saw blood, my heart dropped through the floor! I didn't even know what a mucus plug was at this point lol. So it looks like thick discharge with blood streaks in it, but after you wipe a few times it goes away, and Just like a period it goes from red to brown blood.. Tmi I know, but maybe you might want to know for future babies 😉
    I just found this channel and subbed! You're a great mom & your gorgeous! Congrats to you on the new baby & apartment!

      +Kbaby I have a random question... Is Oscar originally from Cali or from the Reseda or Sherman oaks area? He has such a strong valley accent. I don't think many people can pick up on it but he sounds so much like friends I had there.

    I have a low lying placenta at 17 weeks and 5 days. I go in at 28 weeks to see if it has moved and if not I could possibly deliver early and have to have a c-section. When I was told this a week ago, have been so stressed out since. Thank you for this video,it truly has calmed me down.

    Hi Kyra, I hope you read this :) I did not go through what you did but with all I've heard, read, and watched, I'm sure that if your obgyn did the ultrasounds like he was supposed to do, he would know the placenta was blocking the passageway and he would've taught you to be more alert of contractions so you wouldn't panic that much when the delivery is "initiating". I hope the doctor you're seeing now does the check ups like he's supposed to do, and do the ultrasounds you need (since you have a history), so you don't have to go through it again and be more prepared. I hope everything goes well, and I can't wait to meet the minibug. Lots of love from Brazil! And I'm sorry for the bad English!

    that's so scary Kyra, I totally understand the fear. I remember my emergency c section with my son 18 years ago. My BP was 210/190, and I already had partial paralysis down my left side. Had I not gone to the hospital when I did, both me and my son would have died. His father decided going to take photos of trains was more important. . All I wanted to do during surgery was sleep, but they wouldn't let me. A lovely male nurse sat with me and held my hand through the ordeal . and OMG those spinals are horrendous!

      Never one labour is the same! I admit contractions are sooo painful but you get a breathing break for like 30 seconds. Pushing was so much easier than contractions. My daughter was born in her sac and I'd do it all again within a heartbeat! It's so worth every bit of pain lol x

    I give you serious props, I would have freaked out so much that whole time... Me personally, I am terrified of being restricted so having my arms tied down would have been absolutely horrible. And being alone during some of the process would have been absolutely terrifying as well.
    I'm so glad both you and the baby are 100% okay and you seem to have handled the whole situation 1000 times better than I ever would have.
    Three years later since I commented this ☝️ I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant! I’m having these crazy cramps and stabbing pelvic pain all he time now but I’m also being closely monitored by my midwife team as my baby has some developmental problems. Scary to think my baby is going to be born in the next 10 weeks or earlier (because of the complications). I’m so so scared!! 😖

    u had placenta previa. sounds like it was detaching from ur uterus. i have had placenta previa with my last pregnancy and this one. luckily though mine has moved. with this pregnancy tho (32 weeks) it has moved just enough to allow for a vaginal delivery however as i dilate the placenta could block my cervix again as my cervix opens.
