I've always been a big fan of those haunting, ethereal background voices in nearly any song. It adds a layer of complexity and depth. These guys nail that musical element, which results in a really well done song.
I may be a thrash metal fanatic. Sepultura, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, etc. But I have a major guilty pleasure for 80s pop music. And this song is a legitimate masterpiece of music.
I was 16 when hearing this master piece, 44 now and don't go without listening to it daily... The memories an nostalgia is 100 percent off the charts... Long live beautiful music like this.
What I love about this song is that it is such a new wave, synthy pop song, but then the lead singer comes out with this killer guitar solo that is totally at odds with the genre but totally works!
My dude, you are absolutely right. I never noticed that before. Thanks for pointing it out. (Side note: it's rad when lead singers pick up a guitar just to rip a solo, then put it back down. Like, "I'm singin', I'm dancin', I'm frontin' a band, NOW WATCH ME RIP THIS FAT SOLO, alright I'm out, back to singin'". Massive flex.)

This is an incredible 80's song. I have just been blessed seeing Real Life play live in my home town in Melbourne, Australia. It was a fantastic set. They have so many good songs. But I never get sick of hearing 'Angel'. David Sterry is an amazing singer still,. & can play mean guitar. I highly recommend seeing them if they are playing live in your country.

Always loved that song. Since my teens until now, close to 60, can't believe I said that number, but this song means so much, has so many memories and so many good feelings. The funny story about this song, one time, I am driving and they announce on the music radio in north east US, that this brand new hit from Real Life has just been released and I hear this amazing song that I have been listening to for about 10 years before that point. I wish the radio knew what they are doing at times, but anyway, glad it got the recognition it deserves, an amazing song.
Saw them live at US San Diego on a Friday afternoon outdoor free mini-concert and later at the actual show. Enjoyed the hell out of their music. They got air time on 91X as well. Great song, great times.
my son plays that gta5 and always tells me how he likes the songs on there, thinking they were written for the game. I tell him how old some of them are and he is shocked
So glad I was a child born in May 1980. So all of these songs are my childhood. The beauty of the 80s was it held a sense of mystery to it. We always felt like we were on the edge of something even greater than what we had at that moment. But now at 41, I would give up a modern year to relive just a day back in the 80s.
We got too much, too fast. But other than communications and computing the tech lags behind what was predicted in the 80s. No cyborgs running the streets.
Oh yea the dude with the guitar 🎸 was plum tickled to be there wasn't he?? Hahaa I was paying more attention to him than the song while watching...I have always loved this song though just hadn't ever seen this video.

When my thoughts turn to the 80’s I can easily distill two truths.... Rick James was correct that cocaine is a hell of a drug, and that clothing infused with neon should not be worn outside of a strip club. In summary having lived it the 80’s sucked in stylistic terms equal to the bubonic plague sucked for healthcare.
Lyrics: Do you believe in Heaven above? Do you believe in love? Don't tell a lie, don't be false or untrue It all comes back to you Open fire! On my burning heart I've never been lucky in love My defenses are down A kiss or a frown I can't survive on my own If a girl walks in and carves her name in my heart I'll turn and run away Every day, we've all been led astray It's hard to be lucky in love It gets in your eyes It's making you cry Don't know what to do Don't know what to do You're looking for love Calling Heaven above Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Empty dreams can only disappoint In a room behind your smile But don't give up, don't give up (Give up, give up, give up) You can be lucky in love It gets in your eyes It's making you cry Don't know what to do Don't know what to do You're looking for love Calling Heaven above Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Send me an angel Send me an angel Right now, right now Right now

Not only was this one of the greatest hits of the 80's but it's one of my all time favorites!!! I know I'm not alone in saying that it's really sad that we will never have great music like this again. I am lucky in that I was a teenager in the 80's and I got to experience this AWSOME music first hand as it was produced!!!!!!!
I used to sing this song out of now where, "Send me an angel, send me an angel, right now!" I didn't know why lol little did I know as a kid back in the early 90s I heard this song on the radio and would remember it 30 years later.
Several years searching for the name of this song. Now I'm happy.
Me too found it today ❤
I remember recording this off the radio and replaying it over and over on my boom box!! Loved the 80’s!!
And hoping the radio announcer didn't talk over the ending of the song.
Words that young people today wouldn't understand: "recording this off the radio" and "boombox." But they take me back to a simpler time!
I was 20 when this came out. I had a '69 Chevelle SS and a girl named Janet- the two loves of my life then. Not a care in the world. Getting old sucks.
Tell me about it I’m 21 now and it still feels like I was 10yrs old yesterday , life flies and we well die fast
Brandon Tamayo I’m only 18 and I can already feel how I’m growing faster than I’d like to..
My Torana GTR XU-1 and a girl named Lisa giving me a bj whilst I was smoking a joint by the river at 2am in the morning listening to this. Talk about Glory days.
I was 20 years old too. Partying hard and looking forward Not knowing what Life will give you. Getting old and looking Back realy sucks
Make it a red 69 Camero RS convertible and you would be styling.
I’m always listening to 80s music. I really miss this time of life that it hurts my soul. 😢Everything is so different today. Wish I could go back in time and relive the 80s. Blessings to everyone.

It was an amazing time for me..
So many memories and fun times i had.
Miss it.. .
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say "You were young during the 80's" .....
I feel that way about the 60's ......
My Old Man felt that way about the 40's .....
My Grandfather about the 20's .....
So We outvote You 3 to 1 ......
We all agree the 80's weren't half as good as those other decades .....
I wish I was there... but I was born in the 2000's. Maybe in 20 years I'll look back and miss these times
@@Dienow3xw You will look back at some point and "miss" all the times of Your Youth , Good and Bad ...... We all do , but what We "miss" the most is Youth itself ..... Enjoy it , it goes by quickly , one day You wake up and You realize that You are no longer young , and then You spend a lot of time telling "youngsters" to appreciate it , just like "Old Timers" told Me when I was young .....
I'll be honest, I've always felt I was born during the wrong decade JUST WISHING I was born in the 70s or 80s but I'm sure when I'm older I'll look back at this time and wish I could go back.
This song has been stuck in my head for 17 years, I've finally found it.
Niceeeee!

I've always been a big fan of those haunting, ethereal background voices in nearly any song. It adds a layer of complexity and depth. These guys nail that musical element, which results in a really well done song.

Absolutely!. The music is fantastic. Love this song!
I may be a thrash metal fanatic. Sepultura, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, etc. But I have a major guilty pleasure for 80s pop music. And this song is a legitimate masterpiece of music.
Nothing guility about liking 80s pop music.

New wave yes but bass and synth players were not aware of that
@@mchabeIt's funny that you said 'RAD' cuz the bmx movie of the same name I used to watch all the time is what made me think of this song...I think it came out in the late 80's, so it's been forever since I saw it...but for some reason it just popped into my head...
Good post. Great song then and now. I played in a band with Kent Steedman's (Celibate Rifles) brother way back when, here in the U.S.
I probably couldn't afford a ticket if they did come to florida for a concert. Concerts are just about priced out of reach for most people.
52 here wanna let the band know THANK YOU for coming to our Middle School and performing this in our gym just a few years after we got to know this song from the film RAD 1984. As a young BMXer it blew me away cause non of the cool girls knew who u were at the time cause they never saw the film but they too were taken back and for one small minute i was cool cause i knew the song and the words.

He got a bunch of other gems like Adventures in Babysitting, Howard the Duck and Spaceballs too
Always loved that song.
It is a great song. I am much younger and I loved it when my dad played it for me. Great music.

I am making sure my kids know the best music, we listen to 80s and 90s every day
my son plays that gta5 and always tells me how he likes the songs on there, thinking they were written for the game. I tell him how old some of them are and he is shocked
karen Young it was the last decade with its own identity. Every other decade since has been a “ plagiarized wannabe “ of past eras.....
Don't worry, some of us youngsters like this kind of music! ;)
May '82 right here brotha! Ic completely agree with you! 🙌

HS Grad of 1985, Seattle area had an amazing teenage nightclub scene, I was out 3-4 nights of the week!
The 80's was great . they allowed art & creativity. Experimentation of sounds.
Love this song. The thumbs down people have no taste in music obvious

This is one of most underrated songs. And I love the eerie music that accompanies it.
Its the definitive 80's song. How can you not like it so damn catchy.
I don't know if I want an angel anymore. Seems anytime in the bible they showed up a city was destroyed. Can I just have someone who loves me?
Lyrics:
Do you believe in Heaven above?
Do you believe in love?
Don't tell a lie, don't be false or untrue
It all comes back to you
Open fire!
On my burning heart
I've never been lucky in love
My defenses are down
A kiss or a frown
I can't survive on my own
If a girl walks in and carves her name in my heart
I'll turn and run away
Every day, we've all been led astray
It's hard to be lucky in love
It gets in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
You're looking for love
Calling Heaven above
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Empty dreams can only disappoint
In a room behind your smile
But don't give up, don't give up
(Give up, give up, give up)
You can be lucky in love
It gets in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
You're looking for love
Calling Heaven above
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Right now
Thanks!
Thank you so much.
