Don’t let this teeny-grandma fool you, she was in the party that killed the Demon King! 💀⚔

Imagine being so feared by your enemies that they hide until you're dead.
I really like the way the writer gives examples of how fundamentally the demons don't understand human culture, even if they tried. It's a rare depiction, normally demons are just purposefully "evil" but here they inherently have no concept of right and wrong.
And instincts that make them aggressive even if they know it is a bad idea.
They aren't even social to their own kind. The closest natural creature I can think of is some species of spiders. But they aren't natural, they fade into magic when they die, so they are more like a huge curse placed upon the world.
That’s exactly what I thought! It’s a brutally raw and realistic approach to the concept of demons being completely deprived of emotions. The author really nailed it 👌
Draht forgot one of the cardinal rules: "Don't f@ck with old people in anime."
😂😂😂
The music for this series is top tier. Maybe even somehow above the top tier. If you think it's great now, you must know that it gets even better as you continue.
It gets better and better. I love classical music and I have all CDs from LOTR so listening to music from Frieren plus the visuals is divine ✨
As you have pointed out, the soundtrack by Evan Call on this show is really good.
He is an American composer who graduated from Berkeley and is now an integral part of many Japanese anime and dramas.
I’m glad they chose him 👏😌
Lügner has just the perfect name, as it means "liar" in german.
Also, Draht is the german word for "wire". Quite fitting, too 🙂
Wow 😮 It really is! Wish I haven’t dropped German language at school. There is a lot of references in the show. I think somebody have mentioned that to me in previous comments under another video too. Glad you picked up on it too. It’s great to know many languages 🫶🏻
Thank you so much, #ExpectoRidiculumReacts, for uploading your reaction to these episodes of Frieren. Frieren looks better with her hair down than she does with pigtails.
I also thought the same! I might put my hair down next time I record reactions (but that will be for episodes 16+ as I already have the previous ones recorded awaiting to be uploaded on Patreon yay. Editing for UA-cam takes a bit longer due to copyright). Thanks for your vote, Brian! 😊
Frieren The Slayer
Her character really grew on me ✨
@@ExpectoRidiculumI know right! This anime is indeed a good one 🎉
@@paulmartinnyou know I’m really happy we share the joy 😊
The Japanese title of this program was "Frieren Seeing Off the Dead''. Until this ep8, It was thought it means "seeing off her friends."
The part translated as "Slayer" was the program title of Japanese in native. In other words, it turned out that the dead people Frieren saw off were demons, and that the demons gave her this name of the program title. At this point, the meaning of the program title changed dramatically, and caused an uproar among Japanese audiences
Ah that makes a lot of sense! I think that somebody tried to explain this to me before but I struggled to translate it from Japanese to English to fully understand the meaning. Thank you for clarifying it 👍 ☺️
@@ExpectoRidiculum, know whats funny? those demons must be very stupid to try going for her after they realized who she is. because now when you know what her nickname actually means and the fact that its demons who gave it to her... its huge NO-sign for any demon who come across her. ok, with Draht its fine because he didn't know, but Lugner asking where she gone its almost commiting suicide.
Haha it’s true!! 🙈😂 They must believe in their own strength so much it leads to their own demise. Literally walking towards their own extinction
@@ExpectoRidiculum, well, they prob reproduce faster than elves. especially because they don't care about thier children. because caring about children takes time. also yes, they do walking towards own extincion. its a spoiler, but in manga's later chapters one of great demons told that thier kind is in danger(and Frieren is one of reasons why, because killing demons is not her biggest impact, analyzing their magic is).
@@ExpectoRidiculum thank you for your reply. Therefore, I'd like to introduce another point that Japanese understand somehow.
At 14:14 , The scene where Draht turns his back on Frieren is an homage to a famous scene from a Samurai drama that was very popular in Japan in the 1980s.
It is the pose a righteous assassin, who use a rope or wire as his weapon, performed at the moment of his target died. Japanese people have seen an homage to this pose many times in various anime, dramas, and movies. That's why when Draht took this pose, Frieren said, "You've won?"
The original scene can watch on UA-cam as "v=53teRvqw0BQ" and is less than a minute long. There are no dialogue scenes so you can watch it without translation.
Great reactions, I imagine Frieren would be like you if she showed more emotions
Aww, that’s so kind of you! You really made my day 🥹 I used to be an awkward kid, you know. I didn’t smile, I didn’t laugh. I didn’t even cry. It’s all changed for me the past 10 years or so when I’ve moved out to completely new place, met new people etc. I think the only time I laughed then was when I was watching anime or reading mangas. Anime helped me get through many things but then my friends helped me come out of the shell and now I’m still working on being less socially awkward in public 😅 but it’s better than ever so it really makes me happy that you think I’ve done a good job, thank you 😊
BLEACHって観てますか?
ルキアの卍解のコスプレ似合いそうです😊
Hi, I have watched a lot of episodes. I might do her cosplay one day, sure ☺️ I wish I had more time for everything 🙂↕️🥲
