I am Filipina-American, I am 66 years old, married with three adult children, and I am falling in love with you! The first and only time I ever voted for an American Idol contestant was in Season 2. That was Ruben Studdard and he captured me with his soulfulness. Iam, you have that soulfulness with an island flair. For many years, I gave up watching American Idol (because I would be disappointed with the results) but now here you are in Season 21. Ever since I heard you audition, you captivated me along with my extended family. I felt alive again, I was happy, I was sad and I was hopeful. Iam, My son was born with a rare genetic disorder, he is now 8 years old and he is the happiest, sweetest kid. He can’t walk and can’t talk, but he lights up every room he’s in. This song just speaks to not just the loss you experienced with Rodney but the undying love of family that is truly special. The fact you don’t take anything for granted is just as much of a gift as your timeless voice.
My son also has a rare genetic condition called Angelman Syndrome so he is also very happy. Your words are lovely. Iam is just wonderful. Have been watching since his first audition, a long way from the US.

My son-in-law passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest one week ago today; just four days after his 44th birthday. He leaves his wife (my daughter) and four children. So many haters in today's world. The love and respect that Iam Tongi showed from the first audition say's a lot about his upbringing, love for his family, culture and most important being true to himself. Iam knows where he came from and all he want's is to make his family proud. I watched his homecoming and to see all the love shared by the thousands especially the younger kids who came to see their "American IDOL". Yes sometimes we forget the word "Idol" in "American Idol. My grandma passed away during this time, once we let her go in the hospital my eyes couldn't stop shedding tears no matter how much i wanted them to stop. Slowly I feel like im forgetting her, her laugh, her smile, her voice, all of it. this song really just reminds me of her, so thank you uncle.
