This is a little video on how to put fans in your helmet for less than £20 Battery www.amazon.co.... Fan www.amazon.co.... #cosplay #501stlegion #UkGarrison
So glad I found this video. I am on my second Mandalorian kit. My new custom helmet fits my head to the "T", so there is hardly any space for a fan. I compared the dimensions of this model to the one in my Boba Fett helmet, and they are even smaller. There is a good chance there might be just enough space...ordered them right away. Battery-wise, I am using right now a conventional 4 AAA battery pack. However, I have the option to connect it to a USB power bank.
Love to hear how you get on. In tight helmets it can be so hard. The other option would be to find a fan with a side air draw in but smaller ones aren’t easy to track down.
I swear by ventilation in my builds now. My Silver Centurion Iron Man had 2x 6V mascot fans in the back & 2x 3V O2Cool necklace fans in the front. Was luxurious.
I'm currently building a biker scout helmet. I have fitted a turbo-style blower fan to the back and made a tunnel using Eva foam to direct the outflow to the rear vents on the back of the helmet. This causes the air to flow in via the ear vents and the bottom. Of the helmet. Hoping this will cause a reasonable flow of air to allow me to wear my glasses without them constantly steaming up.
brilliant.I've been trying to do something like ths for ages for my first boba fett and comicon in nov 24. After loads of differnet tries this looks just like what I want. (obviously just different positions etc). But I have a powerbank on my Boba Fett belt hidden away and was wondering how long the usb end is from the switch end. Obviously yours is all in the helmet and I want to hide my cable under my clothing soneed to know if it will reach. Or do you know if i can extend the power cable. I have never done something like this before and my soldering is wellbelow par to say the least . Many thanks for your video I will be watching the troop on youtube. nick
Hey there! Great video :) I bought the fan you suggested for a mask I'm working on. I can't find the same portable charger you recommended and have tried a couple of mine I'd previously used at cons to keep LED light strips running for a full day. After 2 minutes of using them with the fan, they respectively cut out. Is this a problem you've encountered? Any advice for alternative portable chargers I can try and what sort of runtime to expect for this sort of setup? Thanks!
Is it better to have fans blowing in or out? the way my "helmet" is gonna be, the jaw moves and opens. so fresh air can come in that way. the fan is gonna be just above that, kinda hidden on its own lil shelf. should it be pulling air out of the helmet thats comes in from the mouth and outside? or helping push air in from the sorta 2nd opening above the mouth one?
I will try this on my Power Rangers Helmet as soon as everything arrives. The power supply is sadly not available here in Germany but ill find another solution for that.

Oh this is perfect! I never even thought about adding a fan system. I'll have to try this once my helmet is complete.

Just came back from a troop with Vader. There is no way I could do him without.
I knew folks had to be doing this sort of thing! New to the cosplay scene. Great video!
I'm currently working on my first cosplay (Death Trooper) this will be very helpful, thank you!

Turbo fan - how noisy is that? I used one before but had to remove as I couldn’t hear anything.
Really useful video. Thank you

You need to buy a usb battery that has no low use cutoff. The ones you have are cutting off as the power output is so low.
Thank you!
You sir, just saved me from my swampy ODST helmet for next con!
I think i would rather use velcro so i could display the my helmet when im not using it
so I live in USA Arizona, and therefore hot glue is not really an option. do you have any alternative suggestions?
I’d use 2 part epoxy. Then you would know it’s solid.
I use PowerTac, similar to e6000 but less stinky.
you can use thinner wre

I’ve always made my fans draw in fresh air.
How long would a battery like that last?
I use lipo 4s battery packs alot power not that heavy.
I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.

You can do something similar with a 9v battery. Or two AA’s.
@@Cosplayvicar yea but I want to make it "easy" and stick with the powerbank for now. But thanks mate
which size fan do you recommend for helmets with visors similar to the scout helmet? 40 or 80mm?
40mm anything bigger and it will make too much noise.
