I own two of these. One, given to my brother by Billy Barber just after it was pressed that I wore almost completely out. The other a pristine unopened one from an eBay auction some years ago. This is in my opinion the best Flim & BBs album of them all and an overall phenomenal work. Thank you for posting this!!!!
I found an LP a few years ago. This should be pressed on CD and sold, regardless of "the original can't be played back" excuse. Face it, the albums that had original masters burned in the big fire a few years ago will be available--one way or another.
What a great find! My father is a jazz musician and I grew up listening to this album. So glad this album exists on UA-cam. I will be revisiting often!!
@@mark2designs607 not ever made, second ever sold, plenty more were made before for lab tests and backup recordings and such Flim and the BBs were the second commercially available digital recordings, the first was an opera
@@voidsabre_ I think Mark is correct that this is the first DIRECT-to-Digital recording ever made (an approach that I believe was pioneered by Tom Jung, who produced and engineered this record, and who later formed DMP). This was recorded on a prototype digital machine that was later dismantled - because it was the only machine that could read the original digital media, any existing pressings (and I've got one :) )really are collector's items. No more could ever be made.
@@AJGoldbug This could be pressed and sold if there was a genuine interest. It wouldn't be a direct pressing, and audiophiles would thumb their noses (as they do at anything). It is amazing what a good needle drop and Pro-Tools can do. A lot has changed since 1978.
God bless you. I been waiting 30 years (not an exaggeration) for a chance to hear this album. Didn't think it would ever happen. Thank you!
What a treasure.......Flim and the BB's is still one of my all time favorite groups....so excited that they are on youtube

Forewardaudio, thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.
Feels like childhood revisited, with best friends, while also brand new.
Jimmy is a master bassist and the first to play a 5-string bass and Alembic the first to make a 5-sting bass!!!
Exquisito !
What album is this?
+GDelva2003 Self titled album
This was actually a demo for Sound 80 studios. It was the first direct-to-digital recording ever made.
