thx for the kind comment buddy,
my bandit has aftermarket downpipes and middle link pipe, all straight through, thats why i added the plate to give her a bit more back pressure and yes, i had to jet up to a stage 1 kit.
most 1200 bandits will take a less restrictive end can without any carb changes but if you put a straight through stubby on, specially if you have a free flowing air filter then i strongly advise a Stage 1 jet kit. ;)

Yep if you have the standard down pipes and filter then it should run fine, you still might find it knocks a bit off mid range though...
If you got individual filters on you will have had to have rejetted the carbs anyways to get her to run right so you shouldnt have any probs putting it on.
My prob was a stutter just around 1500 - 2000 rpm, I made a plate that reduced the internal dia that cured this.. since then I took the plate out and fitted a decibel killer.. and with a tweak on the pilot jets she runs fine. ;)

Damn that is a beast swing arm! Bandit, yeah? I've never noticed the swing arm design until now. The bike sounds beast too by the way. Shame about the performance issues, hope you got it sorted in the end.

PIK hey buddy.. the swinger was a standard Bandit swinger with a brace welded on.
All performance issues were sorted before I sold her 😉 now ride a Z1000 Kawasaki .

Sounds super nice. Random question but on the right side of the swing arm what is that metal piece that hangs down and connects back to the frame? I first noticed it at 3:34.

hi, i am thinking of buying one but i have a few questions before i do so:
did you manage to fit them easily?
    how do they sound?
    are they good quality-wise?
    thanks

Hi just a couple of questions, i have a mk2 12 here running stock headers but the exact same can as this without baffle , is dynojet stage 1 kit sufficient enough for this and also dj098 main jet is installed, kit also came with dj100 is there much difference between the two also can i change main jets without taking carbs back off, bike is also missing collector box gasket seems to run okay but sometimes sounds as if its spitting at idle when cold sometimes it also is slower to come back down on revs from 2 to 3000 other times its very responsive

    • @trebor4460
      @trebor4460  4 місяці тому

Man it was a long time ago since I worked on the Bandit..
First prob best get the exhaust leak sorted..the stage 1 kik should be OK unless you are running pod filters.. I forget the jet size now as been over 10 years .. Best pull the carbon bank out to work on.. then float heights can be checked.. pilot jets for low down probs..needle adjustment for mid range and mains for top end.. a session on a rolling road is best so you can see wjat the fuel air ratio is doing throughout the rev range 👌

Love the bike! I also have a bandit 1200 1999 and I want this exhaust. I have a similar question
So your saying if the bike is completely standard you can just strap this monster on and away you go?? You only need to mod the carbs if u have a straight through exhaust system?? What if I had 4 custom air filters?
According to the official website the exhaust has been made, tested and proven to improve the performance of the bandit. That tells me it's a plug in and play! :)

Hi, I recently bought bandit 1200, K6. Previous owner put Delkevic 350 on . Its poping from time to time, its strange to me. If original exhaust is there, I wouldnt make any change.
