i was lucky to be born, raised and gave birth to my first in Austin, Tx. i remember when his first album dropped and I found it in Waterloo Records. Bought both copies there that day. One for work, one for home. My oldest daughter Amanda and I listened to it night after night and she'd be asleep on my chest by Blue Sky. I lost her in Feb 2017 only 4 short months after giving birth to my first grandbaby. His name is Austin. We played Blue Sky and Please God at her service before Matt Willis (formerly of The Killdares) played Amazing Grace. Amanda waa a life long fan of TEXAS MUSIC, especially Ian Moore and The Killdares. Thank you for giving so much to our love of music! You'll never lnow how much and how many times you've saved me! I will pass the torch to her son, Blue Sky will be his song to her too! I love you, Amanda!
Ian's song Hillary Step has brought me great comfort throughout my life as it is about the death of my grandfather. No matter how grim you interpret the message to be his music has always healed my family.
My brother and I saw him live in Corpus Christi. Blown away, is an understatement. Their entire set was top notch and high energy the whole way, great live sound too.
Saw Ian in Miami Beach for 10 bucks , sat 10 feet away, then next day bought EVERYTHING I could that he did, this album was a work of art, just SUPERB, MAGNIFICENT.
K C Band And no matter how proud Moore himself may have been of them, the same can't be said of the rest. Its not just that Ian reinvented himself that bothered his long time fans, but that he fashioned himself into a pretentious dumbed downed version of the original Ian, like he was deliberately trying to suck. I've never seen such a brilliant musician just annihilate himself like that.
So it's the 21st century ... and I'd never heard of Ian Moore until a north England friend "introduced" me. The friend is gone to parts unknown, God love him, but thankfully, Ian and his music remains. (and even if no one ever reads this, thank God there is somewhere I could express it...where, oh, where are you, Mattie?)
You may have written this 2 years ago and now it is 2022 I don't know if anyone else has read it because there isn't any sign of a thumbs up or reply to it but I read it and wherever your friend Mattie is out there in the great unknown I'll bet he knows exactly how grateful you are for him introducing you to Ian Moore the person who introduced me to Ian more is also somewhere out there in the great unknown I like to call it the flip side because they called him flip anyway just wanted you to know that someone read your comment and "feels you"and on that note now that I'm sitting here bawling I hope you have the most wonderful amazing day ever maybe we'll cross paths someday maybe we won't who knows if we'll even know if we did or not wouldn't that be something... 💔💔💔
I agree. I remember discovering this album and telling all my friends about it. It is pure perfection. Easily in my top ten of all time; It just makes me sad more people don't know about it, they are all missing out.
He still tours, not stadiums, but he's still around, I was lucky enough to buy this cd around 92 and it has been one of my all time favorites ever since!
This dude was from Austin, and I'm from Corpus Christi. He did a free concert at this city park by the bayfront. He played this song, and the crowd loved it. Matter of fact-they went wild-best free show I ever saw This dude is real talent. Plays great guitar-and man! what a voice If you don't have any of his albums-It's a "must have" for any serious music lover
Right after Stevie died this guy and the archangels were the Big Show down there in Austin s*** I'm a Connecticut Play I thought this album was fantastic I got it the minute it came out
Am such a fan of his!! Finally got to see him in Tulsa at a bar back in 2006 or 07 but I remember standing back by the kitchen and here comes ian Moore!!! Nobody even noticed him walk in and I stuttered and stumbled all over myself to say hello.....and he stopped switched his guitar case to the other hand shook mine and said he was glad I was there and hoped I enjoyed the show!!! That's what connecting with your fans is all about!!
Man, Ian's brother Cheney got me into a show when I was a just a college kid in Austin, and to this day it was one of the best shows I've seen in my life. Bukka, Ian and the whole band were super welcoming , and I will never forget that as my welcoming experience to Austin. So glad he's still doing well!
Found this album in the discount rack of a record store many years ago. I'm so glad I did. Every song spoke to me. Great guitar, great vocals. So soulfull.
Mine too! I discovered it in college and there isn't a week that goes by where I don't listen to at least one song off it. It's a shame more people don't know about it.
I played guitar at Enfield pool when i was 12 with him and went to high school with him he is the FUCKING SHIT and my mom and his mom were great friends......1982 or so thats where some of the songs stem from........AUSTIN TEXAS.
I don't think it was the music industry, well what I mean is Ian had his foot in the door. But after his second album, his promoters had him on such a hectic schedule, people hounding him for interviews, want commercials with him, that he more or less decided that this way of life wasn't for him. It isn't for everybody you know. Look at all the stars who died young. He just wanted to be low key so he gave up his contract and moved from Austin TX to Seattle where he lives now.
saw him, Ted Nugent and skynyrd in Little Rock way back in 1996. awesome concert. I immediately went and got this cassette on way home.lol. I still have it in storage.
This has a very different feel to it than when Casey sings it. His voice is different and that makes it just enough different. I didn't know about Ian Moore at all before this; Casey has introduced me to a number of artists and sounds. And I enjoy reading what other Casey fans write. Btw I have painted many blue skies as I was an artist back in the good ol' days.
Forget your worries and hard times. You should never think you are weak. You are always stronger than you give yourself credit for.Life is a roller coasters ups and downs. Its not the down slop but the ride back up, there is always a ride back up! You just have to believe.
Thanks I heard his friend Kenny Wayne Shepherd in Mooresville and Kenny Wayne Shepherd played barefooted on a Barstool at the Windjammer one time one time I didn't make it to the Windjammer but I found it nevermind
This guy was awesome back in the day then he cut his hair and started listening to the record company and remade all his songs into pop and now he sucks

I can't count how many times I seen him thru the 90's. And sounded even better live. I miss my youth
Plays guitar like srv
Sings like an angel

@@annamariepolaco thank you for caring. You may not know how much I appreciate your kind words. Take care, friend. 💕
One of the best albums I ever bought, beginning to end.
I agree. I remember discovering this album and telling all my friends about it. It is pure perfection. Easily in my top ten of all time; It just makes me sad more people don't know about it, they are all missing out.
"This song hits the soul at this this time of grief and uncertainty." "Love and hope for all!"
Whenever I feel stressed out I listen to this song. It is so serene and peaceful it brings joy to my heart. Ian Moore is a genius.
been searching for this song for 20 yrs. had forgotten the name and singer...just found it yesterday.....memories........wow...
Saw him at South Beach, Miami many years ago and was blown away ! SUPERB ALBUM , Great music
He still tours, not stadiums, but he's still around, I was lucky enough to buy this cd around 92 and it has been one of my all time favorites ever since!
Played this at my mother's memorial in 2012...was always one of my favorites...
@4:10 outro bliss. Soul, blues, gospel, funk, and country all rolled up into a tasty gumbo recipe that only Ian could cook up. Brilliant.
This dude was from Austin, and I'm from Corpus Christi. He did a free concert at this city park by the bayfront. He played this song, and the crowd loved it.

Saw him in Pt. Lavaca a few years ago. Was standing about 3 Ft. from him while he was playing. You never forget things like that.
Right after Stevie died this guy and the archangels were the Big Show down there in Austin s*** I'm a Connecticut Play I thought this album was fantastic I got it the minute it came out

Found this album in the discount rack of a record store many years ago. I'm so glad I did. Every song spoke to me. Great guitar, great vocals. So soulfull.
Shame such quality music was on the discount rack. Seems no artist makes an album this good anymore.
Travis Luethe I bought this full price back when it came out. It's a great CD it's a shame that it's now in the discount bin. He should be famous.
