  • We prepare the FV4005 hull for primer. This involves lots of cutting welding and hammering to get it looking correct before we apply Paint.
The workshop heaters have been on 24/7 for a week to get the 40 ton hull warm enough to apply paint.
    Music by
Mozart - The Marriage of Figaro
Sadly the Second Track I used for the painting part of this video had a copyright claim, So UA-cam studio just slapped some (Wolfgang Sobotka) over the top quite badly...

Time to put a massive gate at the end of your drive. Loads of UA-cam's who start to become well known say that viewers just think it's their right to turn up like an old mate because they think they 'know' you.

Add on top of that that the ones thinking its a good idea to stop by someone without asking just because they’ve seen him on the internet are not the one everybody enjoy to meet 😅.

If what you say is right, (and in the few seconds I’ve known of you, you’ve never given me any reason to doubt you) that’s bloody crackers! If I see a dog walker stop at the bottom of my drive (no doubt enabling said hound to happily chip a whizz onto one of my beautiful boulders) they get a rude sending off. I love dogs too, I’m just cantankerous…. If some bellend thought they could just spring up as they fancied just cos they’ve watched me knock one out on xvideos of summat, well, I’m not precisely sure what I’d do but I’m reasonably sure that they wouldn’t like it anymore than I liked their visit. I don’t even like lifelong friends or close family members popping out of the woodwork unless they’ve given me a couple of days’ notice prior. Though that is best for everyone because they might pop up in Jack’s favourite website if they’re not careful….. Now there an idea… Pulp Fiction Pawn Shop Vibes - Going Down (available at all good smut & bongo outlets from February the 31st…)

I would not knock Adam, but it was not his thing, and, the stick man, Joe, does not throw a lot of weight, but Jack looked right. I am no expert, but I was shown as a child, my Grand Father was a Black Smith in a ship yard, and my dad showed me how to swing. And yes, an industrial blacksmith did not swing the hammer but worked the metal and the swages, but he would have maybe 3 strikers, my dads uncle Tom was one of the strikers, swinging a big hammer is an art, great on Jack.@@johnnunn8688

Jack gets the glory for knocking the plate off, well done Jack! Did I blink, or am I right in thinking I never saw Seb give the plate a tap? Joe, an hour and a half on the grinder, have you heard of white finger (HAVS) ? If not, you will do as you get older. Adam has the right idea, it takes far less effort to gas brackets and plates off it at all possibe.
The (red) primer looks good. You've done well to smooth everything out. Grey primer would have looked better, but it's not my machine. Spraying the paint always makes it look like you've done a lot, all the cutting, & gringing pails into insignificance, yet it's the preparation that makes the job.
Well done, you're making good progress.

Was going to ask about using an air arc. Everybody else asked/suggested as per Snowball Engineering. Phone Oliver and ask him next time.
As for Jack... What else can you say other than bloody wonderful watch. Good Lad!!!
Yet another excellent video and superb working ethic. Love you guys.

Arc gouging is good but its very dirty work indoors and the orange smoke that is produced by it is some nasty stuff

Oliver's latest video 'another broken JCB headstock' coincidentally shows two gouging methods.

I miss the noises and smells of working in a fab shop. Never got to work on anything this cool though.

Credit where credits due, Jack you've done well. Of course it helps being a midget for those tighter areas 😂😂. But genuinely you are all doing a great job on this project. Love a deep bronze green.

project is going well so far
well its great to have a huge shed to paint in, but to stop the spread of overspray, you could make yourself a simple wood or metal frame shed to fit over the tank (with room to spare) and sheet it with the old vehicle plastic sheet - also surprised you don't have a very large metal wedge, some one holds in place above offending part to remove, and the other person taps it with sledge from above, standing on the rear deck etc, that way you use the weight on the wedge and not reply in the impact and accuracy of the sledge hitting a small chisel (that long piece running down on the right of the rear panel would make a great wedgey - great work chaps

Wonderful way to start a Saturday with a new video from yall. Those were some serious welds. I was surprised at the amount of pitting underneath that one plate.
