who do you think would have won? my money's on teal'c 100%
I can't help but think the same thing.
@@saberiandream316 Lol, yeah he def has the biological advantage of being Jafa. I think they're reaction timing is still human levels tho, just stronger and more sturdy than the strongest bodybuilder human possible. I'd say Ronin can win, but realistically 1 mistake and he's down. Unless if Teal'c is pulling punches away from the impact of his blows cause it's not supposed to be a death match.
Teal'c's being aged some 50 odd years from the last episode of SG-1 _might_ have left the two on equal playing field physically, but Teal's experience would have likely...eventually...allowed him to get the upper hand over Ronan.
@WhyAmIWearing ARedShirt I don't think it's fair to say Ronan is untrained tho. He's literally ex-military. He def received formal training on his planet. After the fall of his planet, he's also had tons of combat experience being a runner.
I don't think the more nuanced aspects of hand to hand combat are foreign to him. Such as deception and conserving stamina.
Tealc with symbiot *FOR SURE HE WOULD KILLED RONON* 🤣
But This tealc is Older , with Tretonin *weaker than before*
So Ronon could win
Things seemed okay until Kratos mentioned the part about killing Poseidon to Aquaman.
😂 good one, 👍
Damn that’s epic
Kratos would still win. Question is will he rip his head off with his bare hands, impale him on a spike, bludgeon him with a big fucking rock, gouge his eyes out of his head, or perhaps throw him into a pool of molten lava.
just broke out laughing ! nice one
Don't sell Aquaman short. Aquaman is pretty damn powerful and commands an army that is even more powerful than the Amazon Warriors. He has strength on par with Superman's. Just as durable. Able to "Fly" through the water at speeds that break the sound barrier...underwater. And swim at depths that would crush anything humanity has created. Plus, with his trident, he can control water.
The only reason he gets punked around in DC lore. Well, writers do not know how to write him. Plus, if he is dealing with Superman.....Superman has Plot as his superpower. Thus Superman always wins. Yet, up against anyone else. He generally would win...unless it is Marian Manhunter. Manhunter is OP as shit.
So if Kratos fights Aquaman on land. Kratos MANY have a chance. Anywhere near water, Kratos is fucked. Even for a Greek Demi-God that has killed the literal Greek God of the Seas. Along with every other Greek God....and most of the Norse Gods, but he hasn't killed the Norse God of the Seas. Which is Rán, by the way.
I love how Teal'c was testing Ronon for his temper, and he failed of course.
Indeed
@@LM-xw7ii yes I read that in his voice
Ronon puts his gun to Teal'c's head, Teal'c keeps eating his Tater Tots.
it was a piece of celery
I said the exact same thing when I saw that. Is it just me, or did Ronan not stand a chance against tealc once they went hand-in-hand? In the last few seconds Ronan was hit so hard he stumbled
Indeed.
@@alfonsogalvan9979 I mean Teal'c is jaffa, the symbiote/tretonin basically gives slightly super human strength. Ronon is just a tough dude. Not exactly an even playing field.
Teal'c has more control, which sometimes makes all the difference when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, even though Ronon Dex has greater reach.
Man I miss this show.
Me too.
@Mr. noodle the real deal Thank you! haha, but not really!
😔
Man I could have watched 10 more seasons for this.
Indeed
So I watched Stargate out of order, Atlantis first then SG1 (watched for Jason Mamoa not knowing I would become a massive Stargate fan) and had no idea who this guy was that was challenging Ronan Dex. Now knowing who Teal’c is, I must say... Ronan Dex, that was most unwise.
Indeed :D
Indeed.
Ronan is a wimp compared to tealc.
And let's not forget tealc was holding back. And he was like 200 or so
lol me too, I watched Atlantis first. Might rewatch it again now that I think of it.
@@antonispatellis7243 Nah Ronan is just massive, Tealc was saved by a draw call.
me and my family watched it in order and were SO hyped when Tealc showed up, then they teamed up to be a badass duo, man i love Stargate!😁
Teal'c has grown so much as a character. He got sassy in his old age.
in his old age? his still rather young for his race here
@@lucasharrison224 Bra'tac was a 160 and was considered an old warrior. Teal's is near 140 by this time so he is getting old like a little past middle age. Past his prime but for sure not out.
@@lucasharrison224 Did you see the final SG1 episode (Continuum was the true finale IMO)? Teal'c was with the others in a time loop only he didn't get his age reset like the others, so he's old af now.

Teal'c is like 160 at this point because of the time freeze aging him 50 years.
Lol, Shepherd standing there being the comedic relief of the whole scene.
I like how in those last frames it shows how he bet on it being a draw.
Kratos seems like a calm and reasonable person…
I see what you did there..... LMAO
There's a reason why he was cast as Kratos. He's been killing gods for years
@@Zoras88 Bruh.

@Zoras88 now I want an Egyptian setting god of war and Kratos goes against Apophis. "This seems familiar"
The writers/producers knew If they had a definite winner that they’d never hear the end of it from fans.
Cause one of 'em would be dead.
It's like when Adam Wests Batman and the Green Hornet ended up fighting, neither actor wanted their character to lose. So it ended with Green hornet, still standing and un beaten, making a tactical retreat when something else went down.
I love both Stargate's SG1 and Atlantis. Both shows are terrific. I miss watching shows like these.
Star Trek is definitely to thank for this. It’s popularity sparked a lot well written shows I feel during this era and as time passed these well written stories stopped becoming common
I remember the writing got really... sexual... wtf happened. Same with Eureka. I was in middle school during that time. I quit watching it because all these affairs ruined the plot.
Yeah, we don't get intelligent, thought provoking sci-fi anymore.
All they poop out these days is dumbed-down drivel.
Jesus christ, what a great scene. This is probably the last time that a lower budget science-fiction show will be this well done. But atleast it was a good one.
Please don't use the name of God in vain. God bless :)
@@marnv2956 God damnit, this was a great show.
Aquaman back in his younger days on board a space station scattered in space I like to call it "Aquaman the Lost years"
Well, it will be so long as we have monopolized corporate studios that place shareholder values above their customers.
@@joejose8433 Atlantis wasn't a space station. It was a city ship. And it was " docked " on an ocean surface.
i loved atlantis, it was a stargate spin off series done right.
Also you are cute :3
Ronan Dex is in my heart, but Teal'c is in the whole univers.
Respect for Tealc cool demeanor, but Ronan is a raging warrior buster.
Ronan is a loose canon and quite frankly, obnoxious.
When you leave the Barbarian alone with the Fighter for two seconds
Nah Teal'c is a paladin
@@zipflik7887 Nah, Paladin usually implies some sort of connection with divinity, and Teal'c would be very unamused with you if you suggested he was serving anything claiming to be of divine nature.
@@Bek359 he was closer to avenger class but i think of him more as a fighter
@@Bek359 He could be an Oathbreaker Paladin. Certainly his "God" thinks of him as a traitor.
@@Bek359 Teal'c would 100% be Oath of Devotion Paladin. Honesty, Courage, Compassion, Honor, Duty. All things he holds in high regard. Paladins oaths are often tied to divinity, but it's not required. It's about swearing an oath, about pledging yourself to a cause. Like Teal'c pledging allegiance to the Tau'ri and fighting for freedom
So glad to see the entirety of the comments agree Teal'c would have wiped the floor with Ronan if it continued lol
160+ years old Teal'c fighting equally with Ronon. In his prime he would have destroyed him lmao.
Indeed.
Indeed, even Master Bra'tac would have taken out Ronon
@@Professor_Gamble imagine prime master bratac here is the major reason apophis was a powerful systemlord
And Teal'c has no symbiote to heal him by this point.
@@isabelleblanchet3694 Yeah I forgot that. He is on tretonin so he is significantly weaker. Wow.
He definitely would have beat Ronin in his prime with a Symbiote.
I don’t even have words for how great Christopher Judge is in this role.
Indeed.
Love that teal’c is unfazed by ronons gun in his face 😂
I've met them both. Momoa in 2013 and Judge in 2014. Jason Momoa is huge! Christopher Judge is so nice. Down to earth and so different from Teal'c.
I met Jason Momoa as well, & Joe Flannigan too. It was back in 2018, so Stargate had long been over. I was still starstruck though & I'm sure I acted pretty cringey lol
@@cj222100 Jason Moma is huge! Went I went to get his autograph, I called him "Conan" and he said his name is Jason. Like I didn't know that!

i met Judge as well, the man wont freaking age, he still looks so young. are we sure he isnt ACTUALLY Teal'c?
Steroids are a hell of a drug 🤣🤣because clearly he wasn't always built that way
I grew up with Stargate SG1 and Atlantis.
I'm so happy that they haven't only written Sci-Fi history, but also found their way into our present time :)
And hopefully they also will find their way in the future ✌
But not only them, everyone who was a part of this Show, no matter if main role or just somebody who appeared rarely on screen.
I'm so happy that this show was a part of my life growing up
So say we all!
Most of stargate i saw on netflix. The last of sg1 and atlantis was on sci-fi and i think cbs.
I mean if we only talk about SG-1 and Atlantis, because nothing else exists..... then it was 14 years ago that it ended, which dam that was awhile ago.
Teal'c wasn't lying, the tator tots are the best! Especially along with hot coffee... ☕
It was all good until Kratos told Aquaman what Mera did to Captain Jack Sparrow.
Kratos killed his ancestor, poseidon
@@donnybro6536 That was when Aquaman decided Kratos had to be taken down. Slander about his wife was one thing, but killing Poseidon and talking crap about it was an unabidable blasphemy.
So blessed i watched these shows with my dad growing up. Sg-1, Atlantis, battlestar galactica, star trek, and farscape are all shows I watched with my dad and i still continue to watch them!
We really grew up in the golden age of Sci fi shows
This was one of the greatest episode ever made in Stargate franchise.
The really under the radar thing is that teal’c really did prepare Ronin for the interview. If he hadn’t, it would have ended very badly……

Agree with a lot of the observations above. I would offer that throughout the fight, Teal’c is very poised & in control of his technique. Whereas Ronan’s anger is in control of him. Disciple typically trumps passion is most confrontations, real or fictional.
Plus Teal’c is more experienced (Former First Prime) and stronger.
Indeed (hehe irony intended). Tealc is a very disciplined and veteran warrior far older than anyone in the room. Whereas Ronan is a young and passionate fighter more prone to using brute attacks to try and batter an opponent down.
Teal'c became much weaker after the loss of his symbiote, but superior skill, greater experience, and a calm mind allowed him to maintain a clear advantage none the less.
@@tek512he was also like 150 years old at this point, so well past his prime even by Jaffa standards
Jadon mamoa appearing in this stargate Atlantis before he was Aquaman king of atlantis is that type of hollywood mattrix effect ive been talking about
So wanted to see more of Teal'c and Ronon interactions. That would have made a great side quest line. Sad that it only happened for a short time.
No way in hell that’s a draw, Teal’c would have used Ronon’s head as a mop if he really wanted to, this fight was Teal’c testing either his own endurance or that of Ronon.
it lasted an hour or so with no breaks, trust me it was a draw.
@@FerretJohn Respectfully I disagree, Ronon and Teal'c are both absolutely excellent fighters, NEARLY even... but I would imagine Teal'c would have been training in just as long of training sessions with Bra'tac before he ever met the SG-1 Team.
@@FerretJohn Ronon looks like he got run over by a mac truck, while Teal'c is clearly just fine. It's pretty evident Ronon was on the wrong end of an hour long ass beating.
In this fight Teal’c would have won. Ronon was fighting out of anger whereas Teal’c was more content to wear him down.
Well remember, this Teal'c was 50 years older than the one in SG-1 due to the events in Unending.
Kratos fighting Khal Drogo with sticks after an argument at the dinner table.
I can never forget the episodes with these two, I already considered them to be monuments at the time, they are legendary now. I want to see them again together in a TV show.
when he made the suggestion to go to the gym, he knew what was going to happen
Of course he did. He was fairly certain that it would take time and eventually someone like Carter would call it. Hence he organized the bet with Chuck. And knowing it would most likely be a draw he placed his bet accordingly.
3:14 I felt that right from Teal'c through my monitor.
Fantastic episode.
Man I remember when this came out the hype was REAL! Like holy crap who is gonna win the fight?! The team up at the end - epic episode that was a long time coming and a great episode overall. Qapla! Wait no . . . Indeed!
One of the coolest things I have done was unwittingly go to the premiere of Ark of Truth with the cast on an aircraft Carrier for San Diego comic con (they told you if you like Stargate go to the carrier and no details were given). The entire cast was extremely cool and sat with random people in the bleachers as the movie was projected on the bridge. Carter was only like 15 feet away from me, and the entire cast stuck around to take pictures with fans after the movie.
Never thought I see Kratos fighting Aquaman 😂
I mean he killed Poseidon so Aquaman will just be mush.
Guess who’s in the top three if not number one? If ykyk
“I must confess however that I am partial to the tater tots” -Kratos
Let's be real for a second and admit that Teal'c would have destroyed Dex. He was probably only giving 30%
The actor who played Teal'C said in an interview that Teal'C would have lost hands-down. So there's that. 😂
@@Sunless1337 I saw that interview. He was being nice
@@Sunless1337 Teal'c is also like 160 years old at this point. Because of that it would be close. Teal'c in his prime would have destroyed him.
@@danieljensen2626 if he still had his Goa'uld in his gut, he would have won
Teal'c has more control and didn't really want to hurt him, deep down. He just found Ronon irritating. While Ronon has a lot of pent-up aggression, and he's reckless.
what everyone seems to forget is that teal'c here was around 167-169 years old...courtesy of season 10 episode 20 - Unending, while ronan is what? mid 20's - early thirties...goes to show, what a total bad ass teal'c is...
Fanservice at it's finest
A bit too obvious, though. This episode was clearly written with the clash of the two as the prime intent, story just wrapped around it.
Ronan is a badass, but Teal'c is the ultimate badass.
He's got knives, sharp sticks...🙃
I am so happy this popped up on my timeline. Extremely underrated show
One went onto become aquaman the other God of war!
Good job he got the Aquaman gig after that cannibal film. He might be remembered very differently otherwise.
Love the subtle detail of them betting with all different currencies. It’s a nice reminder that this is an international collaboration.
I caught that to, Euro's and dollars. But why would anyone on Atlantis have physical currency on them? Did a KFC and Pizza Hut go in once Daedalus starting making its supply runs?
@@JaredLS10 perhaps they had items they wanted to trade/sell to each other?
Snacks, contraband, toys, tools....?
This scene was awesome (Cleearly Teal'c was going easy though - Ronan never stands a chance lets be honest)
Yessrr agree with u. They should have have teal 'c handle the wraith better in hand to hand, he is much stronger than humans as a Jaffa.
@@rakim6466 yeah but this is post symbiote tretonin tealc plus the age jump in unending. Tealc from mid season sg1 would fuck him up more easily. My money's still on tealc but it's now close enough to be ambiguous
@@houseofpaine5251 That's actually a very fair assessment
Dunno about that. First of all, Teal'c is old; 30 years older than Bra'tac was when he got tripped by O'Neill first time they meet where he insinuates that Jaffa indeed get weaker by age. Second; Ronan beat a Colonel Caldwell when he was taken as host of a Goa'uld and to my knowledge, I never saw Teal'c beat a Goa'uld in a fist fight. Then again, Goa'ulds rarely fought with their fist so maybe they were bad melee fighters etc.
@@SWEMartin Teal'c was feared among most goa'uld, he was the first prime of apophis after all, that scares the shit out of people for good reason.
Teal'c was the clear winner and here's why. At 3:12 you see Joe behind Teal'c . Then at 3:14 Teal'c grabs Ronon's arm and delivers a blow. From 3:15 to 3:16 the camera pans to Joes face. BUT you can hear 4 punches being delivered. Finally at 3:17 you now see Joe behind Ronon's back with Teal'c still holding Ronon's arm as he delivers the final blow....So When Teal'c intercepted Ronon's arm he delivered 6 blows to him while spinning him a 360 degrees controlling his arm the whole time, before Teal'c decided to let him go. Because Carter stepped in. Keep in mind Teal'c is 150+ years at this time. This scene was basically showing how weak Ronon was compared to an elderly Teal'c. If he didn't age 50 years in the final episode, the fight would've been as one sided as him fighting K' Tano before plot armor came to save him
*I love how Ronan is too dumb, emotional, etc to realize that Teal'c is trying to help him pass his test. Ronan cannot handle Teal'c strength level, intelligence level, emotional stability, stamina level, insight, etc, but obviously Ronan's pride will not allow his to accept those fact, therefore Ronan will end up getting himself killed challenging Teal'c.*
Another thing I noticed is that either Ronon decided to go with a half-length stick from the start (unlikely) or Teal'c had already broken Ronon's off-screen and was just trying to teach him a lesson. The fist-fight in general also seemed kind of one-sided as Ronon started that part of the fight with what was almost a sucker-punch.
I think shephard is the winner he got paid.
Teal'c still has superhuman strength and literally over 100 years experience. It's impressive Ronan even lasted that long.
Constantly being on the run from the Wraith for 7 years would force you to build up your endurance.
Arguably one of my favorite episodes. Just to see SG1 characters I grew up with in Atlantis.
Young badass v old badass
Kratos v Aquaman.
Both these lads have earned their action god status.
Props to Carter for balls of steel
I can see he's a calm and reasonable man
aaaand now I have to rewatch stargate for the 50th time starting with SG1 THAAAAAAANKS!!!!
Teal'c was in control the whole time, just playing with him. Same as he let Mitchell and even O'Neill hit him to blow off some steam.
Exactly! He let Ronan sneak a few free shots in there.
well teal’c was an easy target. But he didnt get why he was dancing.
It was so cute when O’Neill asked if he was okay.
Teal'c: "I guess you did need a mentor after all"
Ronon's young, reckless hothead, has anger issues, Teal'c is a combat veteran, battle-hardened warrior, a professional soldier, it's putting a not even a rookie against Solid Snake or John-117 armed with only a revolver, single action army
Why did teal`c have to go at Ronen like that for
Ronen was minding his own business
@@teresadownes2422 to prepare him for the interview
*Ronan cannot handle Teal'c strength, intelligence, emotional stability, stamina insight, etc, but obviously Ronan's pride will not allow his to accept those fact, therefore Ronan will end up getting himself killed challenging Teal'c.*
the fight was actually already over when he lost his nerves and pointed that gun at me. psychological warfare. Then the fight. just to let him know that even after giving all what he got, he lost. well actually, destroying all of his confidence would have caused more harm for the operation, so a fight that comes out as a tie, was better for him. after all he was a good fighter. after I lost my Symbiot, I experienced that exact loss of confidence, I tried not to let this happen to Ronan just to have won this fight. next step: teaching him meditation to be able to keep a clear mind, free from anger and questionable decisions. the whole situation was a lesson, teaching Ronan to be a better soldier.
If anyone else would tried to end but Carter, it probably wouldn't of ended. Teal'c has much respect for her and the og team.
Plus she blow up a sun... so I wouldn't mess with her 😂

Teal’c had Ronin by the balls. He literally showed what a bad mannered Ill tempered half whit warrior Ronin was in SA. He was the useful angry idiot in SA and Rodney McKay was the useful soft idiot. I have so much respect for Teal’c as a character he grew so much from season 1 to the final season of SG1 and I’d love to see more of Christopher Judge in movies. Ronin was close to the same character he was in beginning and at the end of SA although he done a little bit of growing but no where near Teal’c journey and growth and it’s easy to see Teal’c had his measure almost immediately.
