Elixir has Phosphor bronze and Cleartone has 80/20's, so you could compare using strings made out of the same metals instead of comparing apples to oranges. I use 80/20's on both my mahogany dreadnought and maple OM while using phosphor bronze on all my rosewood guitars. When first installed the Cleartones sound fantastic but their wound strings will go dead in just under a month. Elixirs will last for months with no degradation in tone.
Yea, totally get where you are coming from but I think elixirs are popular and chances are someone has probably tried them so I tend to use elixirs a lot. But next down the pipe line is Cleartone 80/20s vs cleartone phosphor bronze so that should be a good one.
Hi Jeremy, have you heard Savarez acoustic strings? I found these strings some days ago in Amazon and it says they are bright and have punchy treble and it’s excellent value for money.
Don't like elixirs on my 72 Martin D-35 but they're great on Gibson, Taylor, Guild and Yamaha

I feel like the d string on the elixir is slightly brighter or twangy than cleartone, but I may check out Ct's because i believe there a bit cheaper
I'm not sure it's a good idea to compare two brands with different technology Bronze vs Phosphorbronze.

@Elyon Alone thanks for the head ups. Cant believe they I never heard of these.
Why didn't you put yer Cleartones- up against Elixir phospher bronze strings...This comparison is a joke. The Elixir PB's are superior.
