I’ve been using this to practise my g and passed today September 18 2023. Exactly the same route. Thank you so much for uploading this video it helped so much. Good luck everybody!
I just passed my G driving test today July 22. It was so easy and I’m not a high way driver. I avoid the 401 like the plague and I still passed my test. Watching this video helped. Good luck to all who are doing their test soon.
I passed my G Test 2 days back, these video was helpful. I practised many times to be confident on the same route. The route is really easy, best time to book your exam in morning hrs 9 to 11

Unfortunately I did not pass my first G test at Newmarket. I was really nervous and was raining hard. I went the same route and my examiner made me feel more uneasy, hopefully I get a better examiner on my 2nd test...and better weather _🙂 Watching this video again and again to help me on my 2nd test. Hoping for some advise....keep your heading moving and look at rear view mirror every 8 seconds ? when is it best to look at side mirror, during lane change ? Thank you to everyone for the advise. Any other tips that will help me overcome my nerves ? I wil.l try to book my test for morning
Sorry to hear that. I think the main reason is that you were too nervous. Head movements while driving are not as strict as you think. Even if you occasionally forget to perform, the examiner only deducts some points. It's not enough to fail your test immediately. The real issues to focus on are managing right-of-way and obeying traffic rules. Yellow lights, yielding on right and left turns, and adhering to speed limits are key factors that can immediately fail you. You can download a copy of the examining sheet used by the examiners to see which items are truly critical. Also, try to relax; the more nervous you are, the more the examiner will feel nervous.
@@flyingfishinwater I agree with you, I think I was very nervous and when you are nervous you forget a lot of things. Three things why I did not pass 1. The weather, rain was pretty hard, I think you would agree it's easier to pass with nice weather. 2. the examiner, I was nervous and he only made me feel more nervous. 3. My nerves, I got so tense I forgot the big things like signalling when turning left from the test center to Harry Walker Parkway. Were you nervous in this video ? if so, how did you relax ? I agree with your points on Right-of-way, traffic rules as well as not running yellow lights, turns and speed limits. When it comes to speed limits you cant always go exact unless you have cruise control, for example on Davis its 60 but it's OK if you go between 55-60 ? I know you posted a link before where to find the examining sheet but the link does not work, do you know how I can access that ? Watching this video sounds like you had a good examiner, do you remember his name ? hopefully I will get them on my 2nd test 🙂 I think doing this test once will allow me to relax more since i know what to expect such as lane change as soon as merging on the highway. May I ask what time of day you did your test, looked like the 404 was empty so easy to merge and make lane changes .
@@ronshuster3781 Weather is the biggest variable affecting the pass rate; rainy and snowy days are dangerous, and examiners can also be more nervous. It is currently the rainy season in Toronto, so I am praying for clear, sunny weather for the next test. I was not nervous at all during my exam because I have been driving for over ten years. I simply downloaded the marking sheet used by the examiners and had my wife sit in the passenger seat to tell me which mistakes would lose points. I didn’t pay for any driving instructors and passed on my first try, which shows that more practice can reduce nervousness. If you are a new driver, I strongly recommend hiring an experienced instructor and repeatedly doing mock exams. New Market should have three possible test routes; practice each one thoroughly to prepare for various road emergencies. This will make you less nervous in your next test, and your relaxed state will also help the examiner relax. They can sense your mood as soon as they get in the car. Failing the road test on the first attempt is very common; I know people who took it twelve times, so don’t worry too much. Good luck on your next test. For your questions: Question 1: When it comes to speed limits you cant always go exact unless you have cruise control, for example on Davis its 60 but it's OK if you go between 55-60 ? Answer: Yes, I keep watching the speed meter every 5 to 10 seconds to control the speed. It's OK if you are over 60 a little but you need to lower the speed as soon as possible. Pay attention to school zone. Don't over speed there. Question 2: I know you posted a link before where to find the examining sheet but the link does not work, do you know how I can access that ? Answer: You can check this link: www.scribd.com/document/644593064/G2-and-G-Road-Test-Marking-Schema-pdf Question 3: Watching this video sounds like you had a good examiner, do you remember his name ? hopefully I will get them on my 2nd test Answer: The examiner was randomly chosen. I don't think you can choose one of them. And I don't know his name either. Question 4 May I ask what time of day you did your test, looked like the 404 was empty so easy to merge and make lane changes . Answer: Yes, time slot is very very important. Don't start your time during traffic time like 8:00 to 10:00 or after 15:00 for school hour. I choose mine at about 11:00. At that time the traffic was easy and examiner won't do too much tests because they hurry to lunch and break.
@Flyingfishinwater were you moving head alot ? when exiting the highway when did you start to slow down ? was it when the exit lane curve away from highway ?
At 9:14 of the video, when you see the warning sign, it's better to slow down. But take it slowly and easy, don't let the examiner feel nervous. After all it's just a warning sign for safe speed rather than a regulatory sign.
@@flyingfishinwater First, I am watching your video over and over to prepare when i go for my 2nd test, its a great video. At 9:14 you are going on to the ramp, I know its 30 and was told that you can go around 35 if the road is dry. My question is about when you were exiting 404 to green lane, when did you start to slow down, take your foot of the gas, was it at 7:56 when you took foot of gas and slow down ?
No need to follow the exact speed as ramp has not speed limit but 30 is suggested for safe turn. You can make 40-45 but I suggested you mark under 40km per hour
Sounds like you turned left into the wrong lane. When turning left, you are supposed to turn into the left-most lane (the closest one to you).
