A "show stopper" is a song or dance performance in a Broadway show that is so amazing that the audience cannot stop clapping. The clapping goes on for so long that the actor or actors that performed the song or dance has to break character and walk to the front of the stage to take a bow (or bows). When finally the clapping subsides, they go back to their position on stage and the play continues. It's also known as "stopping the show". I was lucky enough to experience it. Angela Lansbury was playing Mama Rose in "Gypsy" & after singing & dancing "Everything's Coming Up Roses", the audience erupted into a thunderous applause and we just couldn't stop clapping. She kept waiting for us to stop, but when it became obvious that we would not, she had to come forward and take many bows before the play could resume. There's nothing like live theater.
Neither of these have video, audio only but The Heroes and Villians Medley is a Must all six guys solo and the character they put into is awesome! Also the Prince of Egypt Medley! Also, Kurt was singing lead on the last song but because they sang more of the sing together it was hard to tell. Jamey is an Awesome arranger!
You can hear the basses do solos in their cover of “You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch” And then the other tenor you can hear him do a solo in their cover of “A Million Dreams”
So glad you guys reacted to this! The arrangement is truly spectacular. As others have said, the "Disney Heroes and Villains Medley" is also superb, and really highlights all of the male voices. Sadly, there's no video for it, but you should still check it out!
I don’t think they have an audition. I think Jamey just invited the talent that he wanted in the group. Since he arranges each song according to the range of the individual singers, he is just looking for incredible talent who also understands the dynamics of singing A Capella and being able to blend well with the rest of the group yet having enough power to be able to pop out for a solo part.
As multiple people have said, check out the Disney Heroes and Villians Medley, it's pretty much the male version of the Disney princess medley. There's no video but it is still 100% percent worth a listen, all the men really shine I'm it, especially Karl and EJ
How do they get so crisp and exactly in time with each other? Months and months of spending hours upon hours and more hours of relentless practice together. Endless takes of smacking out beats and rhythm and timing breaths and syncopating consonant endings to perfection. Because acapella singing, whether in a small "chamber choir" like this or a full choir is one of the most addictive experiences in the world 🥰 when you are all together and all love it and the music so much and everything is just working and the music is moving through that group like it is its own beast... It feels like magic! And it feels so good because getting there to that one perfect performance is fking hard work. It's ugly. Feelings get hurt. Voices get overworked. Emotions run high. And it's worth every second 🥰
The synchronisation it took to do this is insane!!! Every second was perfect. I agree i think they all must some heavy musical training, you can really hear the operatic training some of the girls have.
I don't know if you guys ever reacted to "LIghts'. It is a huge collaboration of singing groups, including PTX. The guy who is the lead on most of this medley E. J. CARDONA has a solo in that . It is very enjoyable.
I have missed the two of you so much!!! The UA-cam algorithm has been cruel and not showed me any of your recent content even though I was in Germany the last two weeks for work! Annoying! I am so happy to see you two! Also this video was so good. So much good singing!!!
since you are a bass there is a group of guys that have done some songs that are all bass they call themselves the bass gang. you should check them out.

Although there is no video, their Disney Heroes and Villains Medley showcases all their men's voices and is another great arrangement.

I saw them live in March and they are equally amazing on stage as in their videos. Their Prince of Egypt medley will rock your socks!
These people are so talented, imagine the people who auditioned, but didn't make it in...they have to be incredible as well to even be considered!

I had the privilege of attending one of their live performances at our local university a few weeks ago. They are even more astonishing in person.
