I totally agree with you that an accordion journal is so much easier to start in. If I make a regular journal I will rip and glue parts of book pages, etc just to get something down on the pages It works!

Hi Steph, I have never seen a journal base created like this. I just LOVE how it turned out. You are correct, the pages have so much interest. For someone who is unwell, you have created an amazing collection of items which will be brilliant in your journal. While I have been watching JJ videos for about three years now, I have yet to make an actual journal! I have only made some small folios and ephemera pieces. You have really inspired to give this method a try! I just love the collaged pages. Also, as a journal cover, I just LOVE the plain book cover. The colour and texture are fabulous, IMHO. I hope you feel much better soon and thanks so much for sharing. 😊🦘🐨🇦🇺

Oh thank you so much! It is hard to get going with junk journals because there is so much content out there which is why I like to keep it simple. I hope you will give this a go x

I wasn't going to watch another accordion jj video bot it started and I'm so glad it did. I loved how you ditto it and I want to do one and join your January challenge. I've never done any challenges, swaps or trades as I just watch the videos. You made me excited to try this one and I even turned on my bell for you and it's my only bell. I'm going to sew mine with my new expensive sewing machine using different stitches. I hope it won't hurt the machine as it was my 40th anniversary gift from my husband. I think if I just have it cleaned more often the paper dust won't hurt it. I loved your video. Great job. Get well and inspired for January as you've made me. I'm not into Christmas this year either do to health. Best wishes dear.

Oh I hope you do take part. I have been sewing paper and I’m really cruel to my sewing machine at times but it’s coped fine with my projects, albeit a broken needle or two fairly often. Cleaning it is essential and avoid wet glue. Also you can’t sew through glue gun glue. I hope you enjoy the process and make a journal xxxx

Awesome, thanks for the advice. Im going to rest for a bit but i have everything gathered up to do the book pages while i watch tv tonight. Tomorrow im going to make me some strps and cluster rolls for it also. I might have to watch it again as i forget things real fast. Im actually excited about this challenge for the first time. How many days do you do it and is it live??? Thanks@hilltopviewjournals

Me too, I've done one but never finished the last 3 pages but it was a lot of work just to make the book. This looks fun and pretty simple that I might actually finish it for a change of pace.

I agree these types of journals take a little of the stress off because there is already something on the page. Another great thing is you can tip in extra pages or add to the end that is why I don’t put a back cover on until I get to that spot. You may want to do a two paper spread so that messes up your numbers, also I always include my prompts for the days in the journal so that’s another sheet you need to count for. All these things can be solved with tipping in a page, an envelope, glassine bag, just another collages paper. With this type of journal it’s fun!

You're not alone. I abruptly stopped last January & never finished that journal, I've no clue even where it is.
Thank you for transparency & a kick-start for me. I have handmade paper from a year and a half ago that will make a great page base. Best wishes for an inspired 2025 JJJ challenge.👏😊

I have my cover pieces for my JJJ. I was going to do pamphlet stitch but after watching your tutorial I will do accordion style too. My cover is about the same size which will make it easy to complete each day. Thanks for the extra ideas of sewn strips and snippet rolls to prep ahead of time!❤
