Honestly its not THAT big of a deal to have never seen them. I saw them 8x, first time the power windows tour when i was 9 that my parents took me to lol and all i remember of that was how bad geddys vocals were compared to that album since it was so late in the tour and he was dead. Last time i saw them was the snakes and arrows tour but seeing them, and any other band, is so transient, 2-3 hours and its over and years later you barely remember any of the details other than the fact that you were there. Their music is what matters, not seeing them live or even meeting them. I met geddy last december and honestly it was kind of a bummer. But their great music still remains. If i never saw them live or met him, id like them just the same.
As someone who's seen them 30 times.. Yes you made a mistake.. Especially time machine tour when they played this live.. UA-cam has the best versions of everything.. I recommend rush in Rio for some amazing versions of classics like this and natural science.. And so many more.. Check it out.. Peace
I saw them twice, in the Test for Echo and Counterparts era. I was a bit disappointed, was hoping for this and other crazy stuff like Jacob's Ladder but they have to play the modern stuff to support the CD sales, that's life

Tim Renken although he plays Alex Lifeson like Alex Lifeson plays Alex Lifeson, Alex Lifeson may still be the superior Alex Lifeson when it comes to guitar because even though Alex Lifeson may not play Alex Lifeson anymore, Alex Lifeson is still Alex Lifeson even when he isn’t touring as the Alex Lifeson that is part of Rush, Alex Lifesons previous band.
You have talent and skill and great taste in music! More than I'm sure you're even aware of! You've also got a kind of buckethead thing going on with keeping your identity hidden! I admire that immensely! If someone is willing or feels the need to keep their personal Identity out of the mix, that to me speaks volumes about what the art itself means to them! And it puts the observer in a place where they can concentrate more on the beauty of what's being played, Rather then that of the player! I am a musician myself coming up on 50yrs of playing guitar and I know the effort and the love you have put into learning these incredible songs. Thank you so much for sharing that with us! You totally kick ass!

Excellent playing, now make a guitar lesson of this and make a lot of guitarists very very happy. This might also get you a lot more views. I'd have to look a 100 times learning to play this.
Thx for your reply, look, most guys that offer lessons on Rush do not play half as good as you, also most that do always play the classics (Spirit of radio, ect…) Something like this(la villa …)is hard to find. I'm sure not a lot of guitar players play as accurate as you. Love your vids, guess I've seen them all, but I have a soft spot for this song. Hemipheres being a favorite album of mine.
