It was my first ever FIFA, I remember playing it for hours every day on the PS2.
When FIFA had a better manager mode than the current games
The Manager mode is good in FIFA 08.
Remember that the referee wasn't visible when the game was on, he only appeared like a ghost before kick off and in the cut-scenes. FIFA 08 was the game I started being addicted to FIFA, also same year UEFA EURO 2008 came out, man that was times. PES 2008 was also very good game but this one made me fall in love with FIFA
PS3 FIFAs were the funniest ones, hands down. They had it all.

Better passing system and game speed, more PES like. I liked this version of FIFA. This game engine is so much better.

Currently playing a FIFA12 career mode with Bayer Leverkusen. Signed a forward from Juventus and are top of the Bundesliga.
I saw Ribery for sale for 9m. That is nearly five times as much as Joelinton. Let that sink in.
Newer fifas would have more replay value if the career mode would be like this
I still love fifa 08 for the 360 especially my accomplishments it’s like a card book album and looking for the trophy’s it’s like viewing a mini trophy room serie a and b where not licensed only 3 teams not licensed in serie a and all serie b teams where licensed
A bit rough to go back to but this set the foundations for FIFA 09 which was great then FIFA 10 and 11 which I consider the best FIFAs made

I remember on FIFA 07 I’d shoot with Ronaldinho just outside the centre circle and it’d go in.... memories of long shots
training players in this one was so much better than today, training your guy using xp instead of the annoying grind allowed you to play without ever having to actually play any football which was a heaven
First FIFA I played , it made fall in love with FIFA
This was my first FIFA I ever played. I played this one passing 09 10 11 and 12 because I liked it so much. The gameplay looking back was actually difficult for me and wasn’t the best at it was just okay. But the modes and soundtrack was good as most FIFAs are in this department. Anyways I like to go back and shoot around in the shoot around screen on this one. Gives me a lot of nostalgia. It’s not as good as FIFA 13 14 and 17 tho. I never played 12 or 11 to say if it was better but yeah this was a good FIFA for me.
I remember having this on ps2 then having it on ps3..... it was mind blowing how different it was
And strangely they are both grea t games in their own unique ways and BOTH replayable to this day. Infact I've just dusted off my ps2 and playing it as we type. Even though I also have it on my old 360 console I fancy giving the ps2 one a career mode play with Barca

I have played fifa 06 career mode and things i have noticed are when a player plays well his overall grows and when a player plays poorly his overall decreases. When you get sacked 3-4 times it's game over and you have start again.

It was a pretty slow FIFA and I don’t mind it. But it was hard to score compared to prior and later fifa’s. The fact that 09 is a GOAT level FIFA also makes it all a bit pointless.
