I started learning Leung Ting Wing Tsun recently. 13th of september was my birthday, and on 14th of september was my first lesson. It's the best gift I had for my 38 years!
This is not an ordinary training I had in taekwondo, not even a combat training I had in Goju-ryu karate-do. Wing Tsun is something completely different and much more complex than every martial art I've tried before. It is truly a warrior art at it's best!
Whatever the branch, I'm happy to see my Wing Tsun brothers and sisters doing good! You did a great job making this video!

I have started with Wing Chun, over 20 years ago, then after 2 years the master moved away........... Now with my mid 50's, I had the desire again, but am I not already too old? in any case, a super video, very nicely explained, Fantastic.🤗

You know that the win chung philosophy is based on that, saving energy, being efficient, effective, perfect for older people, remember that in Okinawa the masters train karate until the day they die,

Centreline is indeed a key aspect but oftentimes completely misinterpreted. Keeping the centreline doesn't mean that I must be in the centreline of my opponent, it just means that my centreline must be towards the opponent while with the proper footwork I shifted to 45 degrees of his centreline, putting me in a favourable position against my opponent. Staying in the centreline of a good western boxer will most likely result in you being knocked out.

I am into my 5th week of training and loving this unique form of martial art . Very challenging and demanding on my body but I am training hard and aiming to do my 1st grading early next year. Never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream. Love the philosophy of this beautiful art . Meditation on the move . Any Sifu or fellow Si Hing and Si Chai can give me advice how I can make progress? Thank you in advance.

Calming the spirit and making the correct decisions when being attacked is key and responding with explosive action while using self control not to kill your opponent is the true purpose of martial arts. Killing is easy, controlling yourself and your emotions in the heat of battle is the ultimate goal.

"The beginnings of martial arts in the Shaolin temple can be attributed to an Indian monk, Bodhidharma, who came to China to spread Buddhism."
Bodhidharma was a Buddhist, and a Yogi since he was from India.
His version of 'chan' Buddhism in China ultimately transformed into 'Zen' Buddhism in Japan.
I have come to realize that Yoga, Buddhism, Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Aikido, are all rooted in the greater Eastern philosophy of Self or Consciousness or Tao or Zen.
No wonder, all eastern civilizations, from India to China to Japan are metaphysically similar, and put Nirvana or Moksha as the ultimate goal.
This is quite different from the dualistic and materialistic philosophies of the West. 🙏
