  • Here's a collection of tuning runs and practice dives with my custom Diatone Taycan. Since my last video I've made some changes to the Taycan, as I wanted to add GPS I've moved to the Mamba F722s to get more UARTS and bluetooth out in the field was a bonus. Still some tuning to do with the F722s but so far so good. I also had an issue with my Tango 2 so I've moved over to a full DJI FPV System with the DJI FPV Remote....super easy to setup.
    It's starting to get cold in my part of the world so enjoy the mix of Autumn/Winter skies.
    Here's the updated specs and accessories of the build:

    @fanatix Sorry for the stupid question, mind to share your pids/filter settings? I can't find a good setup on my Taycan

    This is just awesome. Thanks for making this video. I have ordered the tango 2 controller and planning to build something similar. Just curious what was the issue you had which made you switch to dji controller. I am thinking of putting Mattis F7 in my build.

      Hey mrityunjay, thanks. The issue I had with my Tango 2 was the internal SD card which did not allow me to update the firmware. i sent it back to TBS and they sorted it out. (BTW the SD card is user replaceable) I’m now using the Tango 2 on my smaller quads but after using the DJI transmitter I must say the Tango 2’s size is great and much easier to manage, compact enough that I carry both my DJI transmitter and Tango 2 in my bag.

      Thanks for the reply. Can you please make a build video for your quad. Or share some instructions on how you hooked the mamba 722s with the dji air unit because looking at the link it’s not plug and play like the 722mini which is built for DJI but that doesn’t have Bluetooth.

    Who knows the resources where we can find professional PID settings for popular PNP versions. Today I am very interested in PID tuning for Diatone Taycan PNP version 6S. Thanks for any help

      So far this combo works, if anything I would say go for the smaller Matek GPS is you're going with gps and lower KV motors i.e the Mamba 1408 2800 or the Xing-C 1408 2800KV, which is what I'm looking at upgrading to.

    what a fly you get with the 1550mah 4s lipo?

    How do you have the gps setup in betaflight? I'm assuming you wired it to RX&TX 4? I'm pretty much building a similar bird and can't figure out the settings to get it right. I was using UART 4 previously for telemetry.

    What is the best place to put the GPS module?
    I am also upgraded my taycan with the HGLRC Zeus35 and Apex Toucan 1607 with 2875Kv, planing to upgrade all of this tomorrow

      I fit it right at the back of the top plate but it's a tight squeeze with my 4s 1550 pack. For my 5inch I use a 3d printed mount that extends off towards the back of the frame.

    Nice smooth flight. If I will ask your rates, of coarse you will not answer. No one is telling like its secret. I will test very low rates to see. I just subbed.

    • @FTStudios
      @FTStudios  3 роки тому

      Hey Angrydrones, thanks for subbing. To be honest my PIDs are all over the place and I suck at tuning. I'm constantly punching random numbers in my pids to see what I get to the point I loose track. Currently the taycan is a mess and I'm rebuilding it. I've since moved on to 5" with the DC5 and I'm kinda liking it so far. I might comeback to the Taycan or I might try the Diatone F4 Long Range instead.

    • @FTStudios
      @FTStudios  4 роки тому

      I've been using a standard gopro mounts with zip ties and some drilling (on gopro mount) but recently I just 3d printed some tpu mounts for the taycan.

      @@FTStudios I'm never using that type of mount anymore btw, I hit a branch which tipped my gopro in front of my fpv lens, cracked the whole gopro & drone on concrete :(. fixed mount is better for durability

    • @FTStudios
      @FTStudios  3 роки тому +1

      hey @FPVDenzel I do agree with ya on the mount. My experience was opposite of yours where I actually cracked my rear hero 6 LCD because the camera got pushed back to the battery too hard. That Hero 6 is not de-cased and used on my smaller quads. I do agree that fixed mount offer better rigidity but fixed mount make it hard to fit in my bag...I'm not using the hero 8 so I'm trying to see how I can print a back plate to protect the rear screen.
