The precision of these rescues in adverse conditions is breathtaking. Rescuers and pilots are true heroes.

I think it is nice that it's all free, it gets everyone out of the house and into the great outdoors.
I do think they should have to show some kind of skill, b4 they are allowed to use certain runs. If they abuse the rescue a 2nd time after just being rescued, they should then be charged with doing free work on the mountain & resort. Again " An inch is given, yet a mile is taken".
AWESOME RESCUE TEAM BLESS YOU ALL!

Wow the expert elite rescuers only make about $45,000 a year, the rest of them are volunteers.
Almost all mountain rescues are free they say " That people will delay and/or fail calling for help if they think it will cost, and in the mountains even a 5 min delay can kill".
Glad I looked it up. TU

If there were no teams to leap into action and rescue lives at the possible expense of their own, perhaps people would give more serious thought to their own capabilities and the need for respect of the mountains, weather, conditions. Yes, it is a noble profession -- mountain rescue -- but the people being rescued have voluntarily and perhaps in many cases carelessly put themselves in absurd situations... I would frankly love to see the skill and dedication of these mountain rescuers going to the aid of people in true emergency situations not of their own making.

If depends on me I'm gonna introduce fines for such adventurers. They know very well what could happen and such rescues surely cost millions for the taxpayers.

I have skied the Mer de Glace in the Vallee Blanche ..... stunning scenery. It didn`t feel dangerous at all with a guided group. Although we were told never to via off the route and never take our skiis off even when we stopped for lunch.

Nerves of steel. Amazing work these rescue guys perform but can someone please tell me who finances these operations. I have only seen snow once in my long life and as beautiful as it looks I have no desire to learn to ski. I also can't understand how that guy got stranded on that Rocky ledge.

I cannot believe he was skiing down that, let alone stopping in the middle of it.
      A selfie maybe !
He is very lucky to be alive though, going up with no helmet on unbelievable. "knock knock is anybody in there"!

10:17 Why do they keep using what is *obviously* a sound sample of a gun racking a round into a chamber every time they hook up a carabiner
