Man if any beginner is not following this channel their crazy this dude gives away so much free knowledge it's crazy I've learned so much just by watching these videos
I’ve watched tons of real estate tutorials from tons of different people on UA-cam. I‘ve learned more from you than all of those people combined. You’re clearly the best in the business. I‘ll be signing up for the online course. $200 is a lot but I have a damn good feeling it will be worth every penny.,
I just want to say thank you for this, not just for all the awesome information, but for actually saying a definitive price that you charge; instead of being dodge-y about that subject like other tutorials can be. Much appreciated!
Very cool to see a filmmaker/cinematographer at work. Great job shadow video!! Love the PIP view!! Thanks for being so generous with your time, telling us your settings, shooting tips, etc. Awesome stuff, Parker.
Excellent video. I started shooting videos for real estate in 1979 on a 3/4" portable in California. It was a brand new idea then and I had a hell of a time to convince a realtor. I maybe had 2 tapings a week, making about 100 Dollars...LOL...times have sure changed. Today I use steadycam and Phantom as well but never had the time to do an educational video like yours! All I can say is BRAVO!!
Just took your full time film maker webinar, took Trevor Jones webinar a few days ago. No comparison-yours was off the charts fantastic. Wish I was a couple decades younger sometimes...
Yo Parker I saw you on the side of a bus in Orem today! Super surreal seeing you there and how far you've come; incredible work man you're an inspiration!
Go for it! Drones are awesome! I have a Mavic Air and love how small and mobile it is. The connection is not always solid, because it's based on wifi. Mavic Pro and Phantom have ocusync and works better. My advice is to think about your specific use case and take mobility into account. Enjoy flying!

Very helpful, I learned a lot. As a real estate agent with a photography background, I do all my own photography, video and drone shots. This is one of the most helpful videos on youtube. Thank you for sharing this incredible video, my next listing will be 100 times better than before.
Honestly, negotiations are something that are hard to film themselves as it's such a delicate process - I wouldn't even know how to do that video without putting myself at a disadvantage. I'd watch sales videos it's pretty universal in its applications.
10:50 you can go even further with that and shoot at 30fps and a 1/30 shutter or 24fps and a 1/25 shutter. Than slow it down in post and use optical flow. Basically what that does is if you lower you play back framerate to below 24 (let’s say if 18fps) optical flow analyzes the image and fils in the empty gaps. This works really really wel if there is not a lot going on. Based on my testing, if something goes from richt to left or from top to down, and it takes more than 5 to 6 ish seconds I can slow it down 10 times and stil make it look like I shot it in camera. Very impressive!!
This was awesome Parker!!! I am actually looking for a wide angle lens and I wasn't sure on what to get for my Sony A7RII and I think I might go with that Laowa 12mm!
I like how this guy uses a normal steadicam and not a robot stabilizer... I've had so many f'in problems with my Ikan robot... hate that thing.... Great video. Very informative... grateful.
Hey Parker, I just watched this video for the 5th time. LOVE IT! I'm a member of the fulltimefilmmaker course and am curious if you have a link to the finished video? I'd really like to watch all of the sequences come together.

Overall, good video. However, a few comments... I've been shooting drone video for years and I'm certified. It's not a great idea to take off from a concrete driveway. The steel reinforcing rods in the concrete can reek havoc with your drone compass. Also, while I know you don't want to be in your drone shots of the house, you should still fly LOS. You would have avoided hitting that tree if you had. I also don't agree with shooting 1/125 on the shutter. I think 1/60 gives you a smoother look but that is personal preference. Steadicam type devices are fine but I prefer a one-handle gimbal, very smooth shots and you can pass it over objects in the house like kitchen counters for a very cool shot. I even saw one real estate video where there were two guys who used a two-handle gimbal. One guy walked up to the edge of a balcony, let the gimbal go over the railing then lowered it with a rope to the 2nd guy below who took it and continuing walking through the house. A single, very cool shot you can't get any other way.
Also I’m not sure if this guy has his 107. If he doesn’t, flying a drone for commercial use is a no no. I’m going to guess he doesn’t because he’s flying with no LOS. Another FAA no no. 🤷🏼♂️

Honestly man, this is some very valuable insight.. People would charge a ton just to teach you this stuff. I'm aware that you also run courses, therefore I'd genuinely like to thank you for sharing even this much with us! Both, very basic, but detailed.. which is super tough to do, especially nowadays as our attention span is rapidly decreasing. Thnx again Parker! Cheers.
Rewatching this after having joined FTF a couple years ago and becoming successful with luxury real estate video. It's so cool to come back and see that I know all this stuff now, and see how you present the info.
i'm an architectural photographer trying to get more into video. this helped out a lot seeing a workflow on real estate and techniques that I can use when shooting more commercial spaces. Thanks for the tutorial and all the info!
I read a lot about keeping the ISO native because it gives the most dynamic range, but I've heard you say keep the ISO as low as possible, I assume to keep the noise level down. Do you think it's worth losing some DR to keep the noise down? I use the Sony a7SII and in the SLog-3 PP every shot is incredibly noisy but the DR is outstanding. Wondering your thoughts here. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Actually if you push your ISO too low, it can create noise as well. Native ISO has the best image overall for your camera, DR and noise (to my knowledge at least)
Also, sometimes with sony log, it's grainy till you grade it, then it usually goes away, that's my experiance at least. I don't shoot slog3 (cause its npt 10 bit) tho, so maybe thats just with cine4/slog2.
Every shot will be noisey but usually cleans up in the grade, native is aimed at giving you the best dynamic range but doesn't necessarily mean no noise as the DITLONAY says
Thanks for the response. I'm getting away from SLog3 because the noise isn't as much of a problem as the artifacts and the strain of the 8-bit image after grading. The noise isn't as prominent but it's just too messy with the banding and the weird color artifacts. Starting to get more into Cine4, but I'll remember to keep it at the native ISO. Thanks again!
Hey Mike, I shoot with the A7Sii as well but I normally shoot in Slog2 because its easier to grade. I'm guessing that your shots look noisy because you expose Slog footage like a normal picture profile. To have less noise while shooting in Slog profiles its a normal practice to overexpose your shots because Slog preserves a lot of highlight detail which can be brought back down. Give it a try (maybe also google how to expose slog) and goog luck
Thanks for everything you share Parker. Love your style and commitment to the cause. I am learning something new everyday from your videos. Thanks again.
Alvister D sa usually with RE you set focus to infinity (everything in focus) if there is a centerpiece or something really cool you want to focus on go ahead and shoot it wide open for those shots. Or if you need it 2.8 bc of low light and that’s the widest you can go go ahead and have the focus centered.
I shoot in south Florida; you end up shooting such enormous homes that after a while "a million" starts to disappoint haha. Its the $30M homes that get me excited these days.
This video was very helpful, thank you Parker. Just got FAA certified to use my drone and am looking to do more real-estate work, and this video gave me a great idea of what future clients want in a video. Great work!
Why natural colors ? Because it would be misleading potential buyers if showing wrong colors. Imagine buyer coming to take a look at house it turned out to be different color.
Because camera's don't yet have the potential to capture real color. Do you think the footage from cameras are in real color or what you see from your eyes? So color correction is needed.
If I was a buyer, I want to see the “natural” look (color) under natural lighting as much as possible. This is especially important for viewing colors of walls, flooring, cabinetry, etc. Color grading and LUTs have a purpose, but probably not best for Real Estate- indoors. Probably OK for outdoors when used modestly
0:42 translation they're too cheap! 3% on a $500k house = $15k. They just don't want to give out any slice of their pie to creative work. Not boring like most real estate videos I've seen.
True, but as long as the market is so fast, they don't need great stuff to sell a run of the mill house. Once the market tightens up again, they might take an interest in how fast good photos and video sell their competition's listings.

its been proven by many that your shutter speed should be around double your frame rate
He shoots in 1/125 because of the 180 degree shutter rule. Which means double your shutter speed for your frame rate

Do you have any samples of stuff you've shot with the GH5? Curious as to people using it in real estate.
I'm currently shooting real estate, and considering getting the GH5. How does it perform in lowlight situations? Also, how wide of a lens do you use to make up for the micro 4/3 sensor.

Appreciate you sharing this. I'll continue to review this video regularly until I "get" all of it. Lots of good stuff for us up-and-coming real estate videographers. I'm using Panasonic GH4 with Olympus Pro 7-14mm lens and flying DJI P4Pro, so I can apply just about everything you covered.
That was some awesome suggestions and BTS for all of us. Thanks for sharing your style and techniques.
