    Hey bro! Awesome content..I'm currently working on this as well during this lockdown..Now I'm actually stuck at getting the bulbs off the plug, I can't seem to get it off whether I wiggled it left n right while pulling it..any idea how to do it?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 роки тому +2

      Hello bro! I've already experienced that problem before and in my case it was the plug that melted to the bulb which is why it is hard to remove. Actually, there is no other way but to remove it by pulling. It is also possible that the contact points of the plug has corroded to the terminals of the bulb or maybe the plug has been changed to an aftermarket ones where the bulbs are secured to the plug.

      @@DraftProject Ah..time for me to change them plugs then..seems pretty burned..so probably that's why I couldn't yank it out 😂 Anyway, what if the gauge needle is not lit?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 роки тому +1

      @@KamikazeBear93 If the needles doesn't illuminate, then probably the bulbs are busted and it needs to be replaced. It depends on the gauge cluster if it has a glowing needles or not. If it has, then there are two types of it. The first one is the older cluster that has a glowing needle which is reflected by the bulbs on the background of the face. The second one is the modern cluster which has a bulb built in the needle itself. It is a difficult process to do since it requires the removal of the needle itself. Once the needle is removed, it will be innacurate and it will require calibration to revert it to its accurate reading.
      Sorry for the late response. Thank you very much Melvin Tam!

      Brown socket is not t10 and not t5

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  3 роки тому

      Hi sir! The bulb for the brown socket is T5. Actually on the speedometer, it is originally equipped with T6.5. But, I do not recommend using T6.5 because it touches the socket and therefore burns and melts the plastic piece of the socket. I recommend using T5 bulbs for all brown socket. It is smaller but it almost produce the same brightness. Remember that this is specifically for Honda Civic EG. Other car models may vary in sizes.

      @@DraftProject t5 tho seems way too loose??

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  2 роки тому

      @@stavros419 T5 is good. On the speedometer area, the three sockets are originally equipped with a T6.5. Those two sizes give the same amount of brightness. The difference is that the T6.5 fits better, but the edge of the bulb touches the surface or edges of the socket which cause the socket to deteriorate or burn overtime due to heat of the bulb. On the other hand, the T5 doesn't touch the edge of the socket, but the terminals itself fits fine.

    Are some of the sockets not supposed to have bulbs? I took my cluster out for the first time and it looks like there are 4 sockets that should have bulbs, but they don’t.

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  3 роки тому +2

      Hi sir! Actually it depends. If you have a stock cluster, meaning it is standard from the time you got your vehicle from the factory, then you should check the indicators on the gauge faces. If the indicator has an icon, then it should have a bulb on its socket to perform its function. If there is a socket without a bulb and on the front of it has no indicator icon, then leave it without any bulb. It is only there for backup replacement whenever your socket breaks.
      If the situation is different, let's say you swapped your gauge cluster from another vehicle with a higher trim level, then you will only depend on your car's features or trim level. For example, if there is an indicator for TCS, but your car doesn't have one, then you have to leave it because putting a bulb on it is useless.

      I broke some of the clips way back before. Actually it is really hard to remove it without breaking it. Just be sure to be gentle with it when removing the bezel to somehow prevent the clips from breaking it apart.

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 роки тому +1

      Hello po sir, sorry po sa late response. Kapag ang bumbilya na ginagamit mo ay peanut bulb o yung ordinaryo na T5 bulb, wala siyang required na polarity unless LED bulb po ang gamit ninyo. Check niyo po mabuti yung terminal ng bumbilya kung intact pa kasi posibleng maputol yun o kaya ay nabaluktot sa pagtanggal at pagkabit ng bulb sa socket. Minsan naman sa experience ko, kapag nagtanggal ako ng bulb tapos binalik ko, hindi narin gumagana, ang ginagawa ko nalang po sir ay meron akong reserve na bumbilya para palitan yung hindi gumagana. Kung meron po kayong multimeter, pwede niyo rin itest yung bulb kung gumagana pa po. Maraming salamat po sir.

      @@arnelrussiana6804 Yes sir palitan na po kung busted po o putol yung terminal ng bulb. Yung cover po ba na tinutukoy niyo ay may kulay o kaya parang condom na nakapasok sa peanut bulb? kapag all original ang sasakyan at wala pang gumagalaw o nagkalas ng gauge niyo before, dapat meron po lahat ng cover yung mga peanut bulb na pang illumination sa gauge. Ang purpose lang po niyan ay para maging kulay puti ang ilaw at hindi dilaw.
      Ang brown socket po ay para sa illumination o ilaw ng gauge mismo. Ang black socket naman ay para sa mga indicators tulad ng handbrake light, signal light indicator, high beam indicator at iba pa.
