Just depends on how good they are. We practiced at Riverdale and it was the new rider adults that were the problems for kids, anyone who could turn reasonably well was pretty good and staying away from the kids.

Slipping the clutch coming out of the corners is big on those little bikes keeps them from bogging out of corners as much will help a lot
Sam Mcmillen knock it down a gear or 2 instead so you don’t wreck your clutch
That’s always been a tough track for me. It doesn’t really develop any alternate lines to pass on or get that rough. Side note: When I do starts there I find it helps to line up as far behind the gate as possible and let the bike creep forward once I know the gates about to drop. It helps with traction and momentum a bunch.

You need to tell Luke if the bike is bogging out of the corner witch happens most of the time too shift down twice in the corner. And if there is someone is besides him he needs to start going over to the other person’s side to block him from passing luke

ask if they can do separate gate drops like drop the 125’s first then the women’s etc. that’s what they do local around where I race.

I know it is a hard thing to do but have them practice on the non preferred lines too. If he does that he will be used to hitting the rough stuff and can make a pass a little easier. Most young riders only stick to the one line. You could tell he had to let up a lot when Luke would catch up and then would loose time. If he can keep the speed in the corner and make his own line he can make that pass in the corner easy.

On those concrete starts don’t give it so much gas and sit on the back of the seat and u won’t spin as much idk if u guys r doing this but a burnout to heat the tire helps but what a race good job 🤘

Love what you dong with the Kids. Luke is improving all the time. Just a hint from my side. Maybe gearing but the bike seems to be in to low revs out the corners. may be brake sooner and get on it sooner out the corners. Luke catches the guys on the top end but looses out coming out the corners. keep doing what you doing. Both my girls are gymnasts and wanted them to do motocross. Gymnastics is cheaper. Have fun
