2 groups of young men, same ages but from different walks of life. One group overprivileged and one underprivileged. That's what makes this scene even better.
Why overprivilaged who makes that standard you can only live so well. Start snitching. Bet you find out who's behind it all. So easy to take advantage of loving stupid shit. The need for more better assistance is true. But more programs and drug alch and its not just a one color prob. Its a poor ppl preyed on problem. You assume this because their white. That's the b.s.. I'm colorblind and call it as I see it
Black kids hanging out doing the same thing would be arrested, possibly beaten or killed. They got a small sample of what young black men in the hood deal with every day.
I never thought the dudes would have the nerve to steal a police car and then the dude Midget was on the roof top and shot at the police. This movie was funny yet action packed.
As funny as it was, shit like this was really going on. Cops really couldn’t come into The Prince Street Projects without gettin shot at from the roof.
@@remyboy2024 Yeah I'm from Jersey and can attest to how crazy Newark was back in the 90's. I mean it's still real af there today, but in the 90's it was a whole other animal.
I never watched this movie until recently and I regret it! These guys were whining about cops harassing them but yet they were stealing cars shooting at them , resisting arrest , cursing at them and other crimes.. and it was so frustrating seeing these kids not learning after one of them would go to jail or get killed after committing these crimes. It was hard to root for them or feel bad for them when they initially committed the crimes and kept doing it!
I felt the same way. Stealing cars and nearly killing or running over anyone when trying to get away from the cops. Causing chaos in an already chaotic environment. Smh whatever they Got they asked for except for the crooked cop thing
If you grew up in Jersey in the 90s you would understand. Car theft was the least of the problems even though Jersey was the grand theft auto capital of America. There were way more issues in Jersey and what “New Jersey Drive” captured was one of the results of those issues (the movie was accurate) . The port in Elizabeth, NJ is the largest in the North East. I’ll let you find out how that connects to car thefts in the area.
They weren’t allowed to film in Jersey because the police didn’t want it since it affects their reputation so the closest thing to NJ is NY right or wrong?
Anyone know who the third actor in this scene is? The guy that shot at Jason later. I always thought he played this character very well, was wondering if he was in anything else.
According to the movie credits the actor that played Ritchie is an actor named Andre Moore. On his IMDB page it only shows he was in an episode of some show called Time Trax. That was just a couple years earlier then this movie. I couldn’t find anything else on him… strange because I’m sure I’ve seen him acting in some other shows. I thought I remember him in an episode of New York Undercover.
This part is the funniest on New Jersey drive, Richie sound like a funny ass white man's voice with the police deputy car, this is hilarious damn he out of pocket especially they out of pocket too, and how the hell they broke in the police car and stolen it, that's a felony for stolen cop car as a pranking, these bastards think they get away with it I guess officers going to look for these punks for stolen a cop car 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
One of the funniest scenes in a movie ever. (Plus midgets voice on the speaker makes it even funnier! Lol)
Midgets sounds like a white cop.
😭💯

Classic scene in a movie

This was the most funniest shit I’ve ever watched that “reach for the sky bucko” had me screaming😭🤣
if Jason would have gotten into the van that night, he would have died too. One small decision can have a huge impact forever.
Or seriously facing jail time
If Midget would've just pulled over, nobody in the van dies. One small decision definitely can have a huge impact forever.
it wasn't his time to die

Oh my God this is hilarious
Nothing in this movie was even filmed in Newark. You can clear as day see NYC bus signs. This coming from someone raised in around Newark and NYC.
They tried to film in newark but they were not allowed to film within city limits so they just filmed in nyc
They weren’t allowed to film in Jersey because the police didn’t want it since it affects their reputation so the closest thing to NJ is NY right or wrong?
Sharpe James said no, He refused to let them film a movie in his city that makes his City look bad.
