This is the first time I've heard a rearrangement of the music that plays in the first cutscene! This whole piece is beautifully re-orchestrated. I can't wait to see what comes next!
This certainly feels very grand. It's impressive really. (I might just give making symphony-esque tracks a shot at some point because if this :P) Overall well done!
0:53 even if this music is only played twice (I think) at the beginning of the game, this is, for me, the theme of General Scales... too bad none of them were officially released in the soundtrack.
@@RogueSamaelZX The original soundtrack was extracted a while ago. Not sure from where. Quite some stuff changed before the final release, so I listen to both OSTs as if they are two games of a common series. Also watch out. I can't tell for sure, but it's possible some titles were assumed from what they sounded like.
It is unfortunate that the soundtracks of the cutscenes are mostly not available, I have already tried hacking the game, using mods and debug menus, and the audio track of the cutscenes, they have the same sound track combined with that of the voices and The sound effects cannot be separated. Even the audio is muted in the Gameplay if the audio of the. cutscene does not end. Contrary to Dinosaur Planet, which does have the cutscene music on separate tracks.
While this is not the reason I tend not to work on the cutscenes, it takes extra effort to make sure the arrangement stays true to the original soundtrack. It is actually a fun challenge that involves creativity. I did go through those tools as well.
@@VGSymphony_It is quite good that the original MIDI tracks can be altered for remix, with N64 Sound Tool you can export all the MIDI of a Dinosaur Planet 64 music and then edit the soundfont, you could also with SFA. I wondered what kind of new Soundtrack based on SFA or cutscene could be added to Dinosaur Planet 64 in unfinished settings like Blackwater Canyon, a dinosaur graveyard. Of all the soundtracks that I liked the most from the SFA cutscenes apart from this one, it is the Thorntail Hollow Night theme on piano from the Thortail cutscene that guides you the way to Dragon Rock, and the unforgettable Krystal and Fox theme, That is available, because of the ending credits.
About the MIDI files, I did play around with them at some point. But they are very likely to not be used in my work. Just from experience, listening and writing it down on my own helps connect with the song and the message it conveys. Starting from a MIDI file would result in something sounding bland, for some reason. Also, I've been working on songs that required actual recordings. This means a possible reduction of virtual instruments and enhanced realism in the future. Let's see how it comes out in the upcoming projects.
@@VGSymphony_I understand that David Wise in Donkey Kong Country used some special effect in the MIDI so that the digital instrumental does not sound so flat, I don't know if adding echo or Rev effects in a specific MIDI instrumental helps to improve the digital sound.
From my own analysis, he used all sorts of techniques. Such as panning the copy of a track to the opposite side and applying a delay to enhance the feeling of depth of an instrument.
The glass sound that starts at 1:27 ? It would probably sound better submerged in the reverb, further away from the ears. I love finding those details!
Oh, and by the way, I saw a part of another comment you wrote. Somehow, I can't open it to read everything. We don't have MIDI files, but I can possibly make them. So other people can work around them and make their own versions of the songs.

That percussion is chef's kiss I swear.
Something Adventures and Assault have in common, the both start off as on rail shooters.
They also both end with an arwing mission followed by a supernovae-like explosion.
@@VGSymphony_ And are both more faithful to the Star Fox formula than Command.

Thanks, that's appreciated! And we can't wait to work on the next projects!
Dude, you are remastering one of my most favorite games. Good luck!
P.s What is the discord?
@@steellegion7054 Thanks! The server is new from today. Here is the link discord.gg/ZmJDuQf

This is fantastic ^^
You did a fabulous job at this music piece :3
I love all your content
I really like the arrangement. It’s not muted like in the original and sounds epic enough to be proper opening boss-fight music.
Nicely done! Sounds like what I'd hear in a remaster of the game.
Really looking forward to more of this.
You make good re-orchestral adventures themes guys, keep going :).
You should do the Sharpclaw fight theme, Snowhorn wastes, and Walled City/Lightfoot village.
We will work on them in the future!
This absolutely wonderful. Your work is awesome friend. :3
This is beyond amazing

I LOVE KRYSTAL VIXEN! 😍
💖 this is beautiful!!

You're right, I can't recall the theme being played later, and this is what was used to introduce him.
@@VGSymphony_ after listening the OST of Dinosaur Planet (the game is available on 64 emulator), it is indeed General Scales original theme

I like this but the Click clacks should have been on a deeper tone sounds sick.

@@VGSymphony_ hmm strange do you mean my Link where i posted a video from Starfox Adventures that was completly remasterd? (Soundtrack)
Nah, it was an original comment on the latest video. But it isn't a big deal, just wanted to make sure I responded
Is it me or does this seem like it has a really strong echo effect applied? Makes it sound really weird.
It's a convolution reverb. It simulates a concert hall as if it was performed there.
@@VGSymphony_ I think this one would be much better without it. Either that or weaken it a ton. I feel like it's way too strong.
