Awsome buy man. Here in oz the 1kz’s are in a lot of hilux’s and the next generation of prado’s after yours. Awesome motor known for there reliability! They can crack heads but just make sure you have good coolant and healthy coolant system. Replace the glow plugs if they haven’t been done for awhile or your aren’t sure as the older style can break off and mar the pistons. Take care of it and it’ll last you forever!

Don't run spacers if you're going to use it as a 4x4, get a second of micky Thomson beadlocks or something man, having a spacer of road is just another point to have fail.

Congrats Q, maybe consider doing your bed inside. Its no fun at the end of the day to set up a RTT and sleep out in the elements. Plus when shit pops off its nice to climb in drivers seat and bail. Good luck w the build!!
You can actually slide back the middle row seats a little more.. There is a handle for that located in the lower front of the seats 😉 and cool its a 1kz not 2LT
That's sick! I had a rooftop tent and got rid of it because I found on harder tracks, the car was too top-heavy. I ended up making a flatbed in the back with a set of drawers underneath.
Weird they're called prados. The interior is so close and similar to my 80 Series, Mines fully kitted out, sometimes those soft shocks suck, but they're amazing for flex offroading, don't get spacers, just get 315/75/16 Mud Terrains, Open Country MT's.. I run 285/75/16 Federal Courgia's, 315/75/16 will fit the wheel wells perfectly and give you more lift too, diff clearance.. we have the 1HZ/1HD diesels This is basically a 76 series wagon cruiser that we have in Australia. 2" and 315/75/16 will make it perfect i promise you. even 305's
Don't roof tent it. You always see them used for almost full price because people use them a handful of times then realize they spent way to much money on a top heavy gimmick.
If you plan on a vehicle you may need as shelter , NEVER choose black. It will be 10 to 50 degrees cooler depending where you are ... paint the roof white at least.

Leave the side steps in or paint em black. Or get a bull bar, scrub bar and rock slider combo. Will protect ur sills when going over the tuff stuff

you should remove all of the rear seats to create better camping setup, lots of people even fit a bed inside the car with all rear chairs removed!
