Looks great but I have the feeling that building a real railway is going to be cheaper.

      Maybe

Can confirm, I've done model railroading. It's much cheaper to leave the Lego behind, even if you ignore the cost of the real estate. However, the Lego trains offer more customization.

      @@michaelbujaki2462 I mean a real life railroad 1:1 size.

@@KastaRules Agreed. Huge billion dollar startup cost, but if successful it will pay for itself.

@@michaelbujaki2462 Yes, like I said, cheaper than LEGO.

I like the light grey for the city, but the brown is great for town or countryside builds.

What is more important for most i think is how to fit curved rails to baseplates without hanging in the air.

Nice work. I prefer the brown over the others.

    Brown.
Do you have a tutorial or can you show how to do this for switches?

For mine I'm doing Reddish Brown. I did mine differently and will be using 2x2 and 1x2 tiles to lift the curved track.

Nice! Been looking for vids like this. I also realise I'm gonna have to save up a lot of time a patience to do it! Added this to my LEGO Tutorials playlist. Thanks!
    And why no flexitrack 😉
I like the traditional wood look the most, but concrete will be the most practical

Looks great. But I understand these sleepers (these grey tiles) are next to the trackrails? And not under the trackrails like in the big railway? From a distance you can't see the difference, but these sleepers are actually next to the trackrails, right?

I guess it will pretty expensive when you get a big layout. But you don't have to do this in the tunnels.

In your opinion, for a winter set up, would white be acceptable, or would you still go with one of the other colors?

Found getting enough grey 2 by 8 a royal pain, and started using black plate that go under the lego straight . would love to see how you would do left and right turning tracks

If you want the curve track to go the other way, you can do it the opposite way

    Brown snd grey.
    Why?
    Brown for freighttrain tracks
    Grey for highspeed trains

OK, don't want to sound a bit annoying but what you did in this video is place the SLEEPERS on the track, not the ballast.
