Maybe a retest? Sometimes an OEM doesn't get the results they like, maybe issues a modification to airbag timing or AEB software. Publishes a new calibration file. Sends another car with the new calibration
Actually it bending a bit should theoretically be even better, as that absorbs shock. Here, it being almost not deformed at all, shock is going through the entire car and passengers. Thankfully it seems the roof absorbs it more so the passengers are not affected so much.
That's a good question. The car did stop extremely close to the dummies. If the speed was 50km/h or 60km/h then it should be good but if this was done at 35kh/h then in reality it should be marginal, kids tend to move towards the car.
When the moving deformable barrier is able to be pushed backwards by the smaller vehicle it is hitting, there is a problem and it is that the barrier is way too light and moving way too slow... Why did they use such a wimpy barrier?
The ID3 weighs 1857KG and that isn't light by any means. The Mercedes E Class (Large Saloon) weighs 1680 KG... The ID3 is an electric car, it may be small, but the batteries are really heavy.

the best pole test result I've seen so far
Less deformation does not always mean it's better
@@cruiserbruiser258 what kind of a result would be better in a side pole test, though?
@@erenteker6908 Deformation can't tell much, it's better to dig into Euroncap and see the forces/injuries on the occupants.
You can see the porshe taycan too
I'm having a feeling of deja vu!

IIRC, in the first test one of the doors opened in a crash. Perhaps VW fixed that issue and then the car went for a retest.
Reupload?
i think so.

@@โบ๊ท lens? You mean lane?
@@AgentSmith911 Yes Sorry.
Amazing !!! Congrats VW !!!

Side pole test looks super good. Is it because of strong battery frame?
Must be strong, or risk a fire

I like how the kids don't have any arms. Just the upper arm

they can move. Carwow showed at night, when you unlock, it sorta "wakes up" and stretches its "eyes" a bit
Why re-upload
Min 2:36 ... What SPEEDS did you used for AEB pedestrian, AEB cyclist and Safety Assist tests? 👍
50 - 60kph standard speed
@@SMGJohn where can we see that?
On older tests they had different speeds. From 35 to 55 km/h ... Every car react different ...

Because then the crash test is more realistic because it's like crashing into another car, not just a solid block.
Besser als der Renault Megane E-Tech 2022
Make it 70kmh
Thats to fast and most crashes are at these speeds
