It does have a limited visual impact, as does a roof mounted Solar system. Do you know if local council planning permission would be required in the UK? Have you approached any local council planning departments for comment?
this is brilliant, duing night time there the sun is Down. it do NOT need to produce much more that 1kw/h in total, that will support heat pump and other electrical components in night time. Very usefull for Future house that want to be nearly OffGrid.
I wondered for a LONG TIME why this product wasn't made yet. Just makes sense with all that wedged up energy. But then I realized, the wealthy want to hold every down. And this provides more than enough energy for the household and really shouldn't cost much (if it does).
You can't just plug in a generator to your house. The voltage and frequency it generates will vary with the windspeed, so you need to store the energy in batteries and add it to your circuits using an inverter to match the voltage and frequency of the grid.
I’d be sceptical about performance if wind direction is anything but perpendicular to the fans, obviously most turbines are either Uni directional or rotate to wind direction.
A good roofer, joiner, and electrician could do this. There’s plenty about. Supply only would be interesting. I wonder about planning permissions in the UK.
The best thing about wind power is the efficiency with which it separates your money from your wallet. Kidding aside, this design has merit. The low profile, bird protection, and wind funneling into the turbines are positives, the efficiency of such small diameter squirrel cage turbines is probably pretty low.
Don’t worry if Llion didn’t pay me back the money he owed me , I would very happy to let the potential Chinese manufacturer for the small wind turbine know this is something they should work on !
The reason for this product not launching is because of the person who take in charge Llion Rowlands is shit ! And because of not enough fund to keep the development of the products going. Now Sunsynk’ owner has involved in the manufacturing for this product ! But Llion personally owed me lots of money and not able to pay me back and put me and my family in a big trouble. We helped with the R&D from 2017 and had transfer thousands of dollars to support their staff in UK. Basically from my perspective, this LR is a totally conman and I hope all the investors should see his true colour!
Sure, I’d be happy to help, but I'm unsure how to get in touch with you without sharing my personal contact information here. You might want to look into the trademarks and patents associated with this product, as they could provide you with a new perspective. I'm also interested in the current status of the product. The conman, LR, has returned to the UK from Canada in 2019 Summer time and he’s a welsh and pretend to be a rich man but in fact he’s escaping the Uk to Canada in early 2010s was avoiding people chase his debts. All employees left the UK company in 2023. Some went to work for Segen and Sunsynk. Some work for Chinese manufacturers as overseas representatives. I used to help for the supply chain in China. He owes a substantial amount of money to many people including me. He has since launched a new venture called Cogent Energy, focusing on charging point installations in November of 2023, as indicated on his website. He also owns the BPE trademark. Former investors have lost their investments, and one former employee is owed around GBP 200K, with little hope of recovery. There are many untold stories behind this situation. It's unfortunate that LR has been at the helm of this development for so long without establishing a proper setup. If an honest and capable individual were leading this effort, it could have moved beyond the concept stage and been mass-produced by now, rather than languishing for over 13 years.
The idea is great, but the lack of marketing is pathetic 😢 they obviously don't want to make money 😮 and the other problem is it's not directional, it can only harness wind from one direction and wind can come from so so many directions 😢
It’s still in the R&D phase. Kinda putting the horse before the cart to market it. This is why many companies don’t even share projects while in the R&D phase, people get unreasonable. Just be patient.
I wouldn't get involved in anyone that puts their foreign market ahead of their best & biggest US market, they'll be spread way too thin to for service and a two year waiting line to buy one.
A residential roof is not designed for the additional wind loads such a large installation would cause. Even when installing a large TV antenna it is better solution to use a tower mast braced against the house than risk mounting a tall antenna mast with a large TV antenna on a roof due to the rotational wind load. In Florida people have lost their home owners insurance and find it almost impossible to get new home owners insurance and when they do at extremely high prices after installing solar electric panels on their roofs because the roof is likely to come apart in high wind storms with the additional wind load caused by the solar panels. Many people decide to take the solar panels off the roof and go back to getting normal home owner's insurance coverage. Any wind with any real power in it, is also difficult for people to talk and hear each other in. That much wind is noisy interacting with a wind turbine. These roof ridge wind turbines can not orient themselves towards the wind and appear highly directional. The are also low to the ground where wind is slower and more jittery. If they ever do get enough wind in the perfect direction to make real power they are probably too noisy to sleep around.

@@thegreenxeno9430 - this is all true, but inverters weren't just created. It's what you call a "hold down". A suppression.

Recent times (Windows XP in the background).
Can they catch wind from both directions? auto change?
China ! Cmon, do this thing ! I will install it by my own.

Price and specifications are the reasons that it won’t work. But at the right price may change this.
That’s right. Price is crucial. A lot of people are looking forward to know the price. Hopefully the wait will not be too long.
*Sometimes* in really rare occasions like this, I actually hope the Chinese make a cheaper knock-off of this product.

Yes please

Can you provide me with more details, I want to make a video titled "Why the Ridgeblade home wind turbine is more hype than power"

are they selling to end users?

Hopefully I've saved someone's time.
