The first time that I recall seeing anyone play a harp in front of me, I was 10. My mom and dad took me to a revolving restaurant at the top of a cylindrical hotel near the river overlooking downtown Cincinnati. The lady playing the harp was wearing an all white gown. I remember watching her every move and felt embarrassed that she was giving me a private birthday song. I thought surely an angel had better things to do than to wish me a happy birthday. I was a bit confused but mesmerized. It's a good memory. 💙
That harpist was Michelle Gwynne. She played there for 17 years. My husband and I heard her there. We chatted with her and, soon, I became one of her harp students. She was a great teacher and friend. She is playing in heaven now. I am sure she is still making beautiful music.
Wow, thank you so much for this beautiful compliment! I’m truly humbled, as Ennio Morricone is one of my favorite composers. I grew up listening to that soundtrack and his music, and it has had such a profound influence on me. To hear that my work brings to mind his music means a great deal. I really appreciate your kind words!
Hi Jack, Thank you so much for your beautiful blessing! Your kind words mean so much. May your life also be filled with wonderful melodies of joy and peace. Aloha and blessings to you! 💛
I love this piece...! It's so well improvised, familiar and yet ever so surprising.. I especially love the leitmotif that appears at 12:21, reminds me of a dragon resting in the sky, keeping watch over the world as the sun sets beyond the horizon.. 🐉🌅💛
Wow, what a beautiful description! 💛 I'm so glad you enjoyed the piece and that the leitmotif spoke to you in such a meaningful way. Thank you for sharing.
After much frustration off mechanical and traffuc sounds on a sunday morning, your music and some food, braught me real peace of mind. Finally able to enyoy the autumn leaves and sunrays.. Thank you so much!❤😊 from a sensitive soul..
I'm so touched to hear this, thank you for sharing! Knowing that my music could bring you some calm amidst the chaos means so much. Sending warmth and good vibes your way. 💛
Thank you so much for sharing that with me! I'm deeply honored that the music enhances your time with the Psalms and helps you connect more deeply with the Lord. 💛 Sending love to you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly means the world to know my music has brought you joy. Your support and feedback inspire me to keep creating. ❤️ 🎶
Thank you so much! It’s wonderful to hear from a fellow harpist! Improvisation is such a beautiful way to express yourself on the harp. Wishing you joy and inspiration as you explore and develop your techniques-enjoy the journey!

Hello, beautiful lady and number one artist, the harp is an Iranian instrument, our Iranian ancestors gave this exceptional and unique instrument to the world of music more than six thousand years ago, great
I have always preferred the harp over the piano growing up I think it is because the sound of each string transitions so smoothly to the next string without the notes that blaringly stand out unlike piano keys during the transition between high pitches and low pitches. Being Autistic with Cerebral Palsy and sensory processing disorder; this is just how I grew up interpreting the difference between piano and harp as the harp to me is smoother and like a light aery version of the cello that I also like! And to me the harp is actually very different sounding than the lyre! Yet I can not pinpoint the difference (I do also like the lyre; though my favorite category of instruments are the woodwinds especially the Chinese Dizi flute!)☺ And this speficic playing of the harp really highlights the harps smooth transition from high and low pitches while also distingishing each and every note; I can really hear the difference yet the harmony of the various parts! So interesting how one instrument so smoothly transitions between melody and harmony all while keeping the coherence and unity of both in one song on the same instrument! 🥳
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled you enjoyed it. :) For my recordings, I use a Shure KSM137 microphone to capture the natural tone, and I do the mastering in Adobe Audition to polish the final sound.
Wow, thank you so much! Yes, this is my lovely Blevins Iona 34-it was my very first harp, and I’ve had it since I was 9. It has been such a wonderful harp through the years, and I’m so grateful for it. I’m truly honored to hear from you!
Great sound. May I ask you if it is necessary to keep your skin on fingers smooth and well hydrated in order to have good sound on harp? I am considering to try it, but I have hard/dry skin and calluses so I am afraid it will sound bad. Am I right? Thank you in advance.
Hi Adam, Thank you for your kind words! You should absolutely give the harp a try-it’s such a beautiful and rewarding instrument. Many harpists, including myself, develop calluses on our fingers over time from playing, and that’s completely normal. Calluses don’t negatively affect the sound since we use the pads or tips of our fingers to pluck the strings. I do recommend keeping your nails short, as longer nails can interfere with the strings and the tone. Don’t let worries about your skin stop you-give it a try! You might find that the process of learning and playing the harp is gentle enough to adapt to your hands naturally over time.
I came upon a child of God She was walking along the road And I asked her, "Tell me, where are you going?" And this is she told me Said, "I'm going down to Yasgur's Farm Gonna join in a gospel band Got to get back to the land Set my soul free" We are stardust, we are golden We are billion-year-old carbon And we've got to get ourselves Back to the garden Well, then can I walk beside you? I have come to lose the smog And I feel myself a cog In somethin' turning And maybe it's the time of year Yes, and maybe it's the time of man And I don't know who I am But life is for learning We are stardust, we are golden We are billion-year-old carbon And we got to get ourselves Back to the garden We are stardust, we are golden We are billion-year-old carbon And we got to get ourselves Back to the garden
I think the harp itself would have to be tuned in this manner, but I’m not an expert. Would be cool to see but I think that’s the basis of a large deep cello.

It is 2024 after elections in USA. May higher beings protect us from the dark clouds to come❤😢.
