Today was disappointing and in my opinion I feel the manager was more at fault than the team, Rashford shouldnt start every game. Garnacho and Amad should start every game for a good 7 games.. Casemiro was poor and deserved being taken off but shouldnt have been taken off for a kid.. Casemiro knows he was shit. Our midfield was a hole as it was last season. Zirkzee needs games. I got slammed for my criticism of Ten Hag last season, hes not the right person. See you on Friday sir 🙂
Dropping Amad after he gets player of the month sends the wrong message. Reward success. Within 15 minutes of coming on he had the most touches in the opposition box…

There was a clamour for garnacho to start. Rashford hasn’t been fully dog shi💩 and is usually always a “big game player”

Tbf, despite scoring, Amad didn't have a great game last game or the one before. And Garnacho had the same impact as a substitute in the last few games and the clamour was on for him to start. Then he starts and does f all.
It's probably an indication that both are more suited to impact substitute appearances right now.

Fair ratings as usual Andy. For me, (I know it’s an over simplification) we can’t beat Liverpool when we’re carrying Rashford and Casimero. We were down to nine men before the whistle signified the start of the game and too many players had an off day - again.
Grim is the word. Running out of excuses for the Manager we don’t score enough and always look like conceding . Hard to point to anything that’s working. Jim Radcliffe had a face like thunder can’t see him sticking with ETH for long at this rate.

Of the two Dutch managers today, Slot is clearly the one with calm confidence and comes across as he knows what he’s doing, but most importantly he’s inherited a well oiled team, a squad with some depth and who have continued with the energy of Klopp, but with Slot’s tweaks they are more dynamic and ruthless. ten Hag lacks confidence, is awkward and uncomfortable when interviewed and his team is not a team and the squad is in the process of being rebuilt. But, this 4-2-4 system did not react to Liverpool’s tactics, ten Hag didn’t change his tactics to counter the Liverpool threat. Now we have half a team of Ajax players, no left back, a just arrived DM, injured striker and a few promising kids who need a break sometimes. And then there is Rashford, who, ever since he signed his £350,000 per week deal has gone and splurged on how many Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Ferraris, but has forgotten how to play football. WTF? It’s a bleeding mess and it looks. Like Liverpool got the right manager and United got the donkey☹️

All 3 goals were conceded when the player playing the no'6 role gave the ball away too softly. We still haven't replaced Michael Carrick. It's depressing.

If those players can't inspire themselves on 150K and playing at Old Trafford every other week than they're in the wrong place. Inspiration doesn't help defend the back post, organisation and effort do.

Think you're a bit harsh on the back 4. The other 7 were terrible, like 3/10. Except Amad maybe. But the back 4 did alright considering we had no outs.
As a side note, Casemiro lost possession 15 times in 45 minutes, not 10. Shocking, 1/10.

He needs to change things quickly, but I don't think he knows how to. The problems we saw today with how the team was set up was just a repeat of what we saw all last season, but people got blinded to it by the FA Cup win. I can only see this ending one way.

@@kangamangus95 Saved by a toe nail against coventry. Some supporters were duped by a cup run. LVG got sacked for coming 5th on goal difference and winning the FA cup. Now we're supposed to give Ten Hag the royal treatment despite playing the worst football we've ever played for and coming in the worst position ever in the premier league era.

We made 3 huge mistakes which was their 3 goals (3 shots on target from 8).

im glad to hear someone say it, cos alot of us get hassled for it, i like him as a man, but hes not getting the team up for games, hes souless in a football sense, his communication skills arent great and in my opinion INEOS know that and Ruud will replace him.

I couldn't even watch the whole 2nd half because I was sad of what I saw. How could we leave Casemiro as the only holding midfielder for such a game? Ridiculous and unforgivable of the ownership ...
its the manager. just my opinion. the ownership were there today, our squad is better than what we saw.

@@chrisbal4882 It's not about who else should've played, but the tactical setup of the team and the instructions to the players. Casemiro is probably finished at the top level but you can't tell me the manager can't tell Mainoo and Bruno to stick closer to him and be more compact against tough opponents. Mainoo was also left all by himself in the 2nd half in that position, leading Liverpool to score their 3rd goal.
Why we didn’t sign Amrabat for the £1.6m loan fee and £11m obligation he went to Fenerbahce for as a backup 6… I’ll never know. That said - we can’t score, so..
We didn't sign Amrabat because he was terrible in 90% of games he played last season.

I'm a United fan and the one thing that stands out is in 5mins on Sky, Slot was able to tactical describe what they needed to do to win the game and the changes done during the game. Ten Hag hasn't ever been able to do that. I understand injuries last year but to get the fans on side he needs to be able to change games.
He used to consistently do that in his first season, but for some reason after that cup win vs. newcastle all of his tactical acumen went completely out the window. First season, he tactically outsmarted Arteta at OT, Howe, we beat Barca pretty convincingly in the Europa league. But now almost a year and a half of dire football, saved by a fortuitous cup run. Should've been fired when we lost to Bournemouth at home by 3. That was his last game as far as I'm concerned.
RVN will be manager by Christmas. No way ETH gets another transfer window.
He might of not been at fault for their goals but Onana is a massive worry for me. His passing is shite, lost count how many times he’s just kicking it long or just holding onto that ball too long. When he passes to the midfielders he’s always putting them under pressure

Midfield has been a massive problem for so long and still not been addressed.Hopefully ugarte improves us but I still think we need another 2 top players in that area.
Ugarte will not fix it. He needs a lot of time to adjust to PL and he is less agressive defensively than Amrabat. We need agressive defensive middfielder to help Maino and Bruno play freely their attacking game just like Amrabat did at the end of last season when he finally started adjusting to PL play style.

If the 3 midfielders worked as a unit, it could work. But they don't. It's just a group of individuals out there.
In fairness to Liverpool. I absolutely hate them. But they get the most out of their players because they work together, they work as a unit. Midfielders support the attack & the defence.

Mainoo must not start every game and should be subbed after 60 mins as he is a kid!

Rashford needs dropped
Football has changed over the years, but Utd haven't. Long gone are the days we could poach the best players from teams around the world. Clubs like City, Chelsea and Newcastle with their rich owners have overtaken Utd. Other clubs are rich enough to hold on to their best talent. Utd have relied on their status for far too long and that status has gone. We paid way over the odds for players who had lost their hunger and were coming for a pay day. This is one of the main reasons why we're in this state. Ten Hag is out of his depth. This is evident this season as we have started the new season with new players but the same old problems emerge on the pitch, plus he selects 2 out of form players in the starting 11, in Casemiro and Rashford. This indicates that Ten Hag cannot make critical decisions for the benefit of the team. No courage or appetite to drop big name players, even if they're in a poor run of form and detrimental to the team. Bad leadership at it's finest. Fergie would've tore a strip off them and put them with the reserves.

United need to switch to 433..we need 3 ball winners in the centre and play with three attacking forwards not four! We cant afford to have so many attacking players on the field..we must control the middle of the park.

Let's be honest that was woeful, however I can see 2 obvious reasons why and how we can deal with them and improve significantly. We played against Liverpool with 9 men from the start. Casemiro and Rashford may have well been down the pub watching the game.
Firstly when Shaw and Hojlund are back after injuries it will make a massive difference. With Shaw @ left back, allowing Dalot to go back to his best position @ right back. Hojlund running tirelessly up front closing down the opposition defenders and stretching the play by running in behind, giving Garnacho, Fernandes and Amad more space in front of them.
Secondly when Ugarte & Mainoo are in the middle it will make life much, much harder for opposition midfields.
Today was terrible, but there is still great hope as long as we DROP Casemiro and Rashford. Personally I would have sold the pair of them along with the useless Anthony. If we don't do this regretfully Ten Hag will not be here by December. He must send Rashford and Casemiro away from the club. allow them to train in a gym elsewhere. They must NOT be allowed to meet or train with the first team squad or else MARK MY WORDS, the cancer will spread! GGMU. #GlazersOutNow

That 3 man midfield was shocking. We haven't got a wide player who can go past a player and chance creation is limited.
Sir Alex Ferguson spent 20 years inflating this giant trophy winning balloon...then all it took to burst it was a needle called David Moyes. Liverpool had the same thing happen to them when Dalglish left in 1991 and Souness came in. The difference is that the modern Liverpool FC has a club structure and system in place that between Klopp and the owners, ensured that this wouldn't happen again. Liverpool are not just about the managers anymore. It's a collective effort of owners, clever business people, managers, coaches and players ALL pulling in the same direction. United have none of that.
3 bad errors in midfield, but we should still be able to recover the situation without singling out individuals for criticism !
I thought Dalot was a 6 out of ten, the rest 5, with young colliyer getting a 7 for effort. Poor all round and no goals scored again

Switching off after hearing Onana was not at fault for any of the goals despite offering Salah 3/4 of the goal.
With all the money spent our selection choices at full back are so poor, there are championship teams with better than us 😢

@@user-bh5zg2bn9p one thing that must not happen is what happened to Liverpool in the 90’s by having a revolving door of managers, a revolving door of expensive, average players and fans that live in the past saying things like: “Fergie wouldn’t have put up with this”. That’ll never happen!
I don't think Kobbie was poor aside from the 3rd goal, which was way more the product of 'pool's tactics to press him and Casemiro than it was a bad individual mistake. Rashford as well was not quite on it but is in a hopeless position out there as a pure winger. We need to scrutinise what Ten Hag is doing more specifically because both these players are being asked to do things that don't suit them and they're struggling.
Martinez was poor but you're right, he needs more time to get up to speed. We need consistency and to have others like Rashford dropped for the next 2 games. No more excuses from EtH as to why he won't drop underperforming Rashford.

Just Seemed to collapse after Casemiro mistakes , Mctominay , 1 on 1 Bissaka would have been needed for this sort of game , would have been perfect for this game . At first I thought they will wait for sacking ETH by say Xmas but now thinking he won’t last that long. I think he could be gone early by October . Rashford should have been sold in the summer along with Casemiro .
We needed proven goalscorer, new LB and Def mid. We didn't get a proper killer goalscorer, bought a RB which deploy dalot to LB and Def mid we left it late to get him for start of season
You can’t see us scoring any goals 1 or none per game is not going to be enough.. There is a massive contrast with the academy teams who are delivering top performance week in week out.
Hopefully RVN will be more ruthless with Rashford. We need to try something different.

Went today sadly but stuck it to the end. Too many young fans leaving as early as 60 minutes. They would have walked out at the Nou Camp in 99 too. Booing Amad substituting Garnacho does nothing to help Rashford’s confidence either. I heard a numpty on 606 calling for Southgate and Mainoo as captain, sorry it’s been a bad day.
We have no cover in midfield, what happens if this Ugarte doesn't work? Or is suspended or injured? Who comes in?

Ineos have got themselves into a horrible situation. Fresh ideas were needed in the summer to give everyone who planned to stay a fresh slate. Now if they do sack ETH this year you've got a bunch of Eric's ex Ajax players stuck at a club playing for a manager they didn't come for 😔

Where do the goals come from ?
Im sorry but its still the same problems as the whole of last season. We rush everything, we throw 6 players forward everytime we get the ball, when we lose possession the number 6 (whoever plays there) is exposed. We CHOOSE to do this. This isnt an accident. We purposely make the game chaotic and frantic. Our shape is always awful when defending.
This is not a personel issue. It doesnt matter who plays in the team. New players, older players, young players, experienced players. It the same story everytime.
Its a coaching issue. It was a coaching issue all of last season too. The fact that McClaren and van der gaag have been replaced, as well as half the squad, leaves the blame at the feet of one man. The manager.
Is he so stubborn and arrogant in his belief that sooner or later it will start working??? There's never been any sign to suggest it will. How can we commit 6 players to every attack but score so few goals?

Can only remember Scholes highlighting this fact in the media so far he’s been a terrible buy and his distribution has been woeful even though that’s the primary reason he was brought in he slings it out of play with every other kick out it seems

Is there a way to find out of players like Casamiro are directed to play high risk passes or choose to? Hate to blame the wrong person for that performance. He was targeted tactically as a weak spot, important to know if he was implementing the game plan.
The dropoff was clear last season. Why have we bought players like mount and Zirkzee when we need a Eriksen/Pogba replacement
That was a tough watch only bc we gave them those 2 goals in the first half. Bad decisions by 18 unfortunately he maybe done…not sure what ETH will do to handle that situation.
Tough watching Casemiro out there. Squad depth looks worryingly thin already. McTominay being sold also looks like a really poor move right now.

Winning the cup final did a lot of work to keep EtH in the job, I think he's eroded a lot of the good will that he got from it already this season. I like him & want him to do well, but we just keep making all the same mistakes.

Will Sir Jim take the hit, Sell off (almost) the lot, Invest as much as they can and ensure a plan with a solid manager and coaching staff. This is too ugly to salvage.
Case was a great player, but it’s clear he’s in the twilight of his career. Last season, as a 6 or a cb, his decision making building up and without the ball was questionable and costly. This season after 2 decent games, it was more of the same vs Liverpool. Bruno and the forward line misfiring only made the mistakes more glaring.
I knew there would still be days like this, and I understand people’s frustration, but being reactionary after 3 matches isn’t how we change our fortunes.

Totally understand how you’re so low ,my anxiety has hit the roof , Im struggling to see any pattern or shape from game to game , Erik is under immense pressure after 3 games ,it doesn’t bode well ,personally I can’t see him getting thru October ,I’m just thinking is that the reason for bringing in Hake and Rudd , or have I lost the plot like Erik

Three times the ball was ' donated ' to Liverpool , result 3 goals . No defensive cohesion . No protection for defence . Midfield got mobbed by Liverpool and had no answer . Casemiro is out of his depth , no pace . Mainoo not as alert as usual . Garnacho is a luxury player , whenhe is good thats fine but when he is off the pace he is a passanger . Rasford is dead weight at the moment . No focal point up front . Rasmus Højlund is badly missed despite what some people think . We have no cover for Rasmus . Bruno is finding the going tough with the players around him . Zirkzee is stange , I dont know what his position is or will be . Still no left back . We are a disorganised wreck . Very poor bench .
If we finish 8th this season and win the FA Cup I would be thrilled . I had a look at the table , I got a shiver , because I clearly remember April 27th 1974 . Yes anything is possible because we are so bad and a lot of players are not with the programme . Ralf Rangnick was right Open-Heart Surgery' . we are still on the NHS waiting list . Cheers Andy .
